It's clear that this song isn't connecting. Kill this awful garbage and move on.

Glad to see this one picking up a bit. I still think a top 10 peak is possible, but if her team is aiming for that, it's going to be a long time pushing this as a single and I don't want that. I'm hoping they can land this in the top 15 and then release "Drinking Alone"

Frankly, Carrie being on hiatus is a perfect time to milk a flop single for all it's worth. And you certainly don't want to prematurely release the 3rd single -- she needs to be in full, guns-a-blazing promo mode when Drinking Alone is released. (Please, for the love of all that is holy, release Drinking Alone next!)

It has the best radio update among all songs on country radio Top 50 yesterday after the "no female in top 20" news.

It has the best radio update among all songs on country radio Top 50 yesterday after the "no female in top 20" news. The song was used for Bobby Bones’ St. Jude Radiothon. That could explain the bump.

This had the second-highest audience gain of all the chart today, behind “Better Boat” which has a female voice on it and is similarly close to the top 20.

This had the second highest audience gain again today. Maybe this song really is starting to take off a bit.

This had the second highest audience gain again today. Maybe this song really is starting to take off a bit. I wanna believe that this song will start taking off. I fear that radio is just trying to rush this into the Top 20 so they don't keep getting crucified everywhere for having no females in the Top 20 and once this is in the Top 20 comfortably, this will go back to kind of slowly gaining.

Carrie should reach the top 20 on both charts this week. While it's not her biggest hit by any means, I see a path where her top 10 streak is kept alive.

I have no doubt that this song will beat "Cry Pretty"'s #9 position on Airplay.

This has totally grown on me. I still want a better song released as the third single, but I really like this one now.

Good to know this will have an official Top 20 peak at least. Now we wait to see if it'll go further or if radio was just doing a favor.

"Love Wins" moves up 6 spots to #19 on Mediabase, gaining 440 spins and 3021k this week. So this song is now officially Top 20. Expext Billboard to follow tomorrow.
Now that this is Top 20, I am curious what direction radio will go with this single in the new year as I can see either end of this really taking off or being complacent and stay stuck in the Top 20 til it silently goes away. Unfortunately for "Love Wins", the sales aren't anything special being at #267 all genre on iTunes, so if I had to say I think this song will get lost in the shuffle when it is climbing in the teens.

I see a Top 10 finish with chances of beating Cry Pretty’s peak but I don’t see it going much further than that.
If Carrie and her team knows what’s good for the era, they’ll release Drinking Alone next. That song feels like a #1 hit.

I would love Backsliding and Southbound as the next two singles, with Southbound aimed for summer (probably next)

I’m thrilled to see that the sales are improving (currently at #137 all-genre on iTunes) and the airplay is still gaining steadily. If things continue the way they are, I could actually see this ending up a pretty decent hit.

“Southbound” should be released next in time for spring/summer, followed by “Drinking Alone”. “Backsliding” is definitely an album track. I don’t see it translating well for live performances and I can’t see radio taking too kindly to it, but I do love the song. “Southbound” is a surefire #1 country smash. I can see it going #1 on Hot Country Songs and AirPlay actually.
If they do “Southbound” next, “Drinking Alone” 4th, and “Low” 5th, I think it will make up for the sub-par first two singles from this era.

After really thinking about it, I think "Love Wins" can scrape the Top 10, but that may be best case scenario. Looking at the song right now, Carrie Underwood is at #19 on Billboard and #17 on Mediabase.
At least on Billboard, I am willing to bet that Carrie Underwood is 9th in line for the Top 10 (replace Midland who won't last much longer, with Luke Combs and you probably have your order as well). That means probably when Carrie Underwood is approaching the Top 10 will be when "Girl Like You" by Jason Aldean is exiting the Top 10, which I don't see for at least 2 months maybe even more. Can "Love Wins" keep the steady pace up to hit the Top 10 for like the next 2 months? I don't know.
She has to almost double her audience on both charts, it looks like to get into the Top 10, and Carrie Underwood has already burned 15 weeks on the chart, that doesn't give her a ton of time left. I would say about 7 to 11 weeks left (I will scratch these next 2 weeks off for all songs since this week is Christmas drop and next week is New Years gain).
There is no room for error if "Love Wins" wants to make the Top 10, it needs to keep these solid gains that have finally started to come and probably not let up. I think the probably more likely scenario is a Top 15 finish, but I do think Top 10 is possible. Top 5 is a giant hell no, that is not happening.

Top 5 is a giant hell no, that is not happening. First, you really should learn to not count anything out with the airplay chart by now. Second, you don't have to pounce on every optimistic post with your daily dose of pessimism. You can state your own opinions and analysis of the song's chances at success without being so belligerent. You can't think that this comment was going to be applauded by anyone, especially with so many fans of Carrie's on here. This song is showing signs of growth and potential for really the first time ever, so we'd appreciate if you looked at the bright side of things for once.

Sorry then, do you want me to delete the post then? I will if you want me too! When I made this comment though I wasn't looking for applause from anyone here. I know there are many Carrie Underwood fans, but even they would admit that this hitting the Top 5 is unlikely. Just this songs chart run is so hard for me to pin down. But if you want me to delete that post I gladly will since it offended or you hated it as did .indulgecountry (since he liked your post).

But if you want me to delete that post I gladly will since it offended or you hated it as did .indulgecountry (since he liked your post). the problem with saying this song will not make the Top 5 no matter what is that there have been many songs that seemed dead in the water that somehow made it to the Top 5 or even #1. Look at "Last Shot" from Kip Moore. 6 months ago who would have thought that would be in the Top 10 at all. We also thought for the longest time that "Doin' Fine" would never even make the Top 40 or even if it did it would barely do so and it made it to the mid-20's. Your comment is a little misinformed tbh. Many strange things have happened with the charts and that is nothing new. Songs have flown up the charts and then died in the teens and missed Top 10 altogether so until a song completely drops out, anything is possible.

Songs have flown up the charts and then died in the teens and missed Top 10 altogether so until a song completely drops out, anything is possible. I feel like a Kip Moore or a Lauren Alaina are allowed these 40+ to 50 week chart runs since they aren't established at all and aren't A listers. The problem is, once you are an A-lister, that is one of the faces of the genre, you are kind of defaulted to these quick chart runs until country radio completely cools on you and then you go through the chart runs that Rascal Flatts and Lady Antebellum have had the last few years, 30 to 40 weeks. Like Blake Shelton spent 21 weeks and peaked at #10 with "Turnin Me On" this past month, and I feel like Blake Shelton is about on the same level as Carrie Underwood as an artist. "Better Boat" by Kenny Chesney peaked at #25 spending 16 weeks on the chart. "She's Got A Way With Words" by Blake Shelton peaked at #7 in 17 weeks in 2016. I think it's fair to say Carrie Underwood is at a similar stature to these artists, and as such Carrie Underwood is probably going to have a simlar or just above that week total with "Love Wins".

raylatch98 I think one of the other key issues here is that you've stated your piece on thinking this one isn't moving up the charts well before this most recent instance. There's just no need for you to continue to re-hash your run-down of its chart performance every few posts in this thread when you've already done it before. It isn't necessary for you to interject every time someone posts a positive comment about hoping this one turns it around and becomes a bigger hit than expected, which I feel was the main point zaclord 🌈 was trying to make in regards to you being pessimistic in the face of any noticeable optimism shared by others.

They should release Backsliding. It screams crossover hit. It confuses me as to why Carrie fans still talk about crossover hits when Carrie has shown no interesting in getting them.

I hope this song succeeds. Still one of my favorites from the album.
Future single releases should be: Drinking Alone, Backsliding, End Up With You or Ghosts.
Kind of surprised people want to push Southbound just to get a #1? It seems kind of forced, and the lyrics leave a little to be desired...but who knows.
