Here's some courtesy of oldbloke @ukmix, keeping in mind there's only 21st century estimates (in millions) with their corresponding rank: 05 - 11.13 - THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP - Eminem 06 - 10.90 - THE EMINEM SHOW - Eminem 48 - 5.50 - ENCORE - Eminem 70 - 4.83 - RECOVERY - Eminem 98 - 4.25 - CURTAIN CALL: THE HITS - Eminem Anything not mentioned, has sold 3.07 million or less this century.
Thanks. Would be very interested in seeng numbers for SSLP, MMLP2, Relapse and Revival, if anybody has those out there! As of August 16th, Revival has sold 385,000. Wouldn't be surprised if it hits 400,000 soon. Many musical soundtracks and cast albums have remarkable longevity - always have. None of generally had pop hits Except for Trolls.

400k+ for the GOAT! KAMIKAZE'S CHART TOTAL (HINT: IT'S LARGE)
You already knew that Eminem's Kamikaze was due to smash into the #1 spot on today's Top 50 chart. Now we can tell you that the Shady/Aftermath/Interscope surprise drop will bow at over 400k. How high will it fly? Stay tuned. Source: hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=313296

300k would be fantastic for Em at this point. If I was saying this about 300k, imagine how I'm feeling about 400k +. Incredible.

I am going to pick up the album tomorrow in physical form. That counts towards week 2 right?

^Yep. I wouldn't expect the second week drop to be as steep thanks to the CD becoming available.

Eminem’s tenth studio album, Kamikaze, smashes into the #1 spot on this week’s Top 50 Chart. According to our calculations, the Shady/Aftermath/Interscope surprise release debuts with a healthy digital-only number of 411k, far outpacing the 267k his Revival did in December. For those keeping track, this is the fourth-biggest entrance of the year, behind Drake, Travis Scott and Post Malone.
It’s not uncommon for an artist’s prior work to bubble up in tandem with a new project’s arrival. In this case, though, it isn’t Revival that’s benefiting from a significant boost. 2005’s Curtain Call, a greatest-hits collection, re-enters at #33.
This week’s second-biggest bow belongs to Capitol’s Troye Sivan, whose Bloom comes in at #4 with 67k. After that, next up is Signature Entertainment/Atlantic’s Why Don’t We, whose 8 Letters moves 45k—enough for the boyband to aptly land at #8.
When it comes to marketshare, UMG is #1 with 69%, WMG follows with 17% and SME is #3 with 13%, while the indies claim 1%. You can nerd out on the whole chart here.
Streeting this week are sets by Capitol’s Paul McCartney, Centricity Music/Capitol’s Lauren Daigle (via Caroline), G59 Records/Caroline’s $uicideboy$, Russ My Way/Columbia’s Russ and Columbia’s Hozier. There’s also the physical release of Em’s Kamikaze.
And that’s all, folks. Of course, we ask that you please forgive us for any potentially incorrect information found above. We’ve been smoking Elon Musk’s weed, and our ambition has lowered almost as much as Tesla’s stock.

I have no use for his album aside from a couple of tracks, but those are great numbers. Nice rebound. I feel like a couple artists need to take note and do more surprise releases (Nicki for example would have probably opened bigger with a surprise release).

Great numbers for Eminem.
Hopefully Cardi will return to the top 10, but I'm not sure if it can with I Like It dropping and Ring not doing much on the streaming side of things.

It's so interesting seeing how even Country albums, Soundtrack albums, Alternative albums, etc now get a good amount of their total SPS from streams.

I guess this fits with my theory that the recent collapses of older artists has less to do with their relevance, and more to do with the reception of the material itself. I didn’t care much for Kamikaze (though it’s better than Revival for sure), but the rest of his fanbase seems to be eating it up in droves, since on the surface it’s the aggressive, offensive Eminem the fanbase loves. I’m willing to bet that Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Jay Z/Beyonce, and all these other artists who flopped this past year could come back if they release an album people actually like.

Most of the example you cite are albums that have been out for quite a while, except for Mamma Mia! I think that, generally speaking, most albums, eventually get to the point where streaming could account more than pure sales of them regardless of the artist's genre, given that the latter can't remain at high levels over the long term. The Greatest Shomwan Soundtrack continues to get most of its SPS from pure sales as one of the main holdouts against this trend.

I’m willing to bet that Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Jay Z/Beyonce, and all these other artists who flopped this past year could come back if they release an album people actually like. I also think that, at times, audiences crave to give certain artists a comeback, which itself can be bolstered if labels market albums as such, that it's this exciting new project that "for real is good this time." It happened to Mariah, it happened to Britney, as well as others. But I don't think it's so much that Kamikaze is a comeback or that the material is particularly good but that maybe the material on Revival was particularly poor, along with other things such as poor timing of release or too much competition, etc., and that that was just a small misstep in his career, whereas now things are more or less back to "business as usual." I might not be the best judge though, as I'm formulating this by gleaning what others are saying and think about his music, as I'm not a particular fan of any of his music besides the big hits. I would say though that all other solo albums he has released in his career have been what you would call commercially successful (with the possible exception of Relapse, but even that eventually sold 2 million copies and produced the #1 hit Crack a Bottle). Eminem is definitely the Elvis of rap, as he has alluded to himself in his lyrics.

"Comeback"? Eminem has never been gone. In order to "come back" you must have first left.

^ Well, I was going mostly based on what others were saying, that Revival was a flop, plus the long gap between MMLP2 and Revival when he didn't release any albums and was largely out of the picture. Why, you think he was successful during those years?

"Success" depends on how you define it. Is he releasing #1 hits and diamond level albums? No, not for a while. But..
Eminem has been one of the top 100 artists of the week since the inception of the Artist 100 chart. Only three other artists have done that (Drake, Maroon 5, Florida Georgia Line)
So did he really go away? Not to some people apparently.

The word "Comeback" is so overused now a days. lol I love it but most of the artists they coin that phrase around aren't even coming back. lol Even Mimi wasn't coming back. She came back from the charts but not working. "Charmbraclet" sold 1 million right before Emancipation came out. lol "Through The Rain" was her comeback. In my opinion there has never been a "Comeback" of Eminem since he's always putting stuff out.

I agree that it's an overused word. But I do think Mariah's TEOM era was a comeback, in terms of being on top of the charts. Charmbracelet and Glitter were both lacking in that department, relative to what she was used to. And I think many people were writing her off prior to TEOM. That, to me, is why it's an appropriate situation for the word. Rarely do artists go away long enough for a comeback, it's usually more about a relative return to form on the charts. Cher, for example, never really went away between 1991 and 1998, she just didn't have any big hit singles from the two albums released during that time, so Believe was considered a comeback. Her late 80s success was definitely a legit comeback.
