What pathetic human beings. Lauren, on the other hand, seems to be one of the most genuine people around. Unfortunately with the quest for fame comes bad attention, but she doesn't deserve what they are saying about her. Don't let it get to you Lauren, these "people" are sorry excuses for humans!

See them all the time. I do think it's a bunch of trolls, Scotty McCreery fans that are living in 2011, and just generally vile people. (I am only putting the spoiler tag up because a lot of what says is just disgusting on so many levels, and is essentially viewer discretion is advised) Various comments include
"This retard is insecure" "Why couldn't they just kill her" "What a s**tty song by a s**tty girl" What a s**tty song by a bully! Hayley should have won!" "I thought this ugly demon was dead" Lauren Alaina and it is sad they are people who repeatedly troll her YouTube videos. I do hope and think that it is just one or 2 people with many accounts just to troll. While many McCreery fans don't seem to like Lauren, his fans don't seem to be the bulk of the extreme trolling & negative comments on her YouTube videos. The extreme trolling & negative comments mostly seem to come from Idol fans of the 3rd place finisher, Haley Reinhart. I've seen plenty of posts over the years on Lauren's YT videos including her current single saying Haley should have been in the finale, should have won, the better singer, etc. All these trolls & fans of others need to move on (and this is coming from a fan of all 3 of them). Exactly this needs to be put to rest...and Haley was my favorite.

The people that post comments like that probably have no life, and very few or no friends. They have nothing else to do other than sit on their computer/tablet and bust on people that have had success.
The singing shows are exposure if you make it far enough. I don't think you need to win the whole thing.
I saw Trent Harmon earlier this year, and talked to him for a minute or two, during the meet and greet. I forgot he had won Idol but I found him genuine. Some artists do care about their fans, others do not.
Let's not forget, Lauren got engaged recently, so clearly, someone saw what is on the inside.

This is as cringy as Luke’s and Miranda’s fan bases hating each other. There’s no reason for any of it.

Those YouTube trolls are probably just one troll. I have noticed that throughout the (seven) years, all of the negative comments on Lauren's videos comment on her weight, claim she's a bully, believe Haley Reinhart should have been in the finale of American Idol in 2011, and claim that all the nice comments on her videos are from fake accounts that Lauren and her mother have created. It has got to be just one freaky, obsessed guy. I don't imagine this has anything to do with McCreery's fans.

Call me crazy, but I think this song is being released at literally the perfect time to be at least a sleeper hit. The timing is great with the whole "No women in the Top 20 on country radio" and this song's subject matter asking for more women to be played on radio in a tongue and cheek way, is kind of a great way for radio to acknowledge the problem and not look completely horrible and sexist, kind of similar to "Girl In A Country Song", 4 years ago.
That and this song is selling just well enough to keep on going (at #850 all genre which is not bad for a song that is not yet in the Top 50 on Mediabase).

I hope it does well. Imo this is Lauren's best song and, like has been said, it pays tribute to many of the women who have come before her.

This song literally chronicles the early years of every gay boy born in the South in the early 90s. Ain't this the truth, lmao. I only checked this out a few days ago. I'm not really a fan of Lauren Alaina, but the title made me curious. I love the song and the callbacks, especially the unexpected shoutouts to Christina and the Spice Girls since I thought this would only be the women who dominated country. I miss the '90s, too, more than I ever thought I would.

"Ladies In The 90s" makes its official Mediabase debut at #49. Gaining 2 spots (passing David Lee Murphy, hungover Brantley Gilbert/Lindsay Ell and the freefalling Travis Denning while getting passed by Carly Pearce).
"Ladies In The 90s" only gained 36 spins and 17 points on Mediabase which isn't bad considering the fact that in the Mediabase Top 50, 11 songs are without a bullet.
Hopefully once these next two weeks of every song losing a good chunk of spins/audience the first week and every song then gaining all that back and probably more the following week. Once those 2 weeks are over I hope this song will be able to toughen out the quite frankly scary Q1 release schedule and be a hit.

This might be the first album/single artwork of hers where I think she looks great. I think she is so gorgeous, but her album/single artworks have not been entirely flattering.

I'm glad this one is actually doing good on iTunes. Her singles usually struggle to sell. Road Less Traveled was #8 on Country Songs even though it was number one on radio, and Doin' Fine took a long time to chart on iTunes. I'm not sure if this will push the song, but if does become a hit on country radio, it can be big on sales too.
Right now, it's #50 on country radio, and there are 15 songs above of it that are behind on iTunes (or not charting at all). On the other day I checked there were 11.

Definitely nice to see this song gain a bit on iTunes to where it is now in the 500s and 600s as of the last time I checked.
Once all the deadweight on Mediabase go recurrent in a few weeks when the charts start to pick back up in a few weeks (Kane Brown, Mitchell Tenpenny, Blake Shelton, Granger Smith, Eric Church, and Kenny Chesney/Mindy Smith), that should put Lauren Alaina pretty comfortably within the Top 50, instead of right now where "Ladies In The 90s" could be swapped out of the Top 50 since she is at #50.
Finally despite this week being the Christmas loss week for the songs on the chart, "Ladies In The 90s" didn't even suffer too much this week. Lauren Alaina is about 130k away from her peak audience which is pretty good for a week where almost everyone drops.

So it looks like country radio is not on board with this or is it too eaely to tell? It’s losing spins for a few consective days. And it’s still doing ok on iTunes.

I think they are on board, just the chart is so crowded, this did get 5 adds this past week so radio is still interested. Doesn't help matters though that almost half of Lauren Alaina's audience is coming from KKBQ an audience juggernaut, and looks like KKBQ is going to at least temporarily decrease audience. The next highest station is only playing the song 17 times. I do think radio is on board, just the charts are so crowded and Lauren Alaina doesn't have the most momentum (female artist, last single took forever to peak in the Top 25). If this song is Top 40 by the end of February then I would say thia song is doing okay.

Lauren did much better on this song than she did singing "What If's" on that special. She was all over the place singing "What If's".

Just months after the passing of her stepdad, Lauren and her fiance have called off their engagement. She really can't catch a break. Wishing her well.

It sucks that people still try to pit women against other women. JLo was never as harsh as Randy yet she is the one who gets hate because she is another female.

That 'it's a tie between Lauren, Scotty and James' comment on top4 is so out of place and unneeded it's almost funny.

JLO was always the worst when it came to female contestants. She usually went hard on the girls with the big voices. My guess is jealousy that she always played a distant second fiddle to a big voice herself (Mariah). No surprise the only two female winners the show's had since Simon left won when JLO was removed from the panel.
I never blamed Lauren for what happened to Haley. How would that be on her? At least Lauren isn't untalented.

I think she just understood on the show that there's more to it then just having a big voice.

Well, good news for Lauren Alaina and "Ladies In The 90s" this week. Lauren Alaina has finally seen some traction with this song after a slow start in 2019 and sales remain solid as she is outselling the latest singles from Carly Pearce, Brandon Lay, LoCash, Runaway June, and Rascal Flatts despite "Ladies In The 90s" not being in the Top 40 on either chart.
Lauren Alaina has gained 30 spins and 464k in audience the past 5 days and hopefully can keep it up the last 2 days for the Mediabase tracking week. So at least this song seems to be getting back to moving on up the charts after really not moving at all the last 2 weeks and having so many songs around it get well ahead.

She championed big voiced Pia and basically called her the next Celine and now they are BFFs(seriously). She also championed Jessica Sanchez, Jena, and LaPorsha.
You must have forgotten how hard Paula Abdul was on Carrie Underwood in favor of Bo Bice.
I do remember people claiming favoritism by JLo with Lauren vs. Haley. That simply wasn't true, Lauren got her share of criticism also (go back and watch her "Any Man of Mine.")

Oh please, that's plain sexist on your part if you really think that. lol It’s sad a talented, beautiful, rich woman chose to be vile to other women, but that’s on her. Seriously, can you think of one male contestant she was as hateful to as Haley or Hollie Cavanaugh or Jessica Meuse? Even Pia she nitpicked every week until, shocker, she got the boot early. But, back to the real point, blaming Lauren for things the judges decided to do on a show she was on close to 10 years ago now makes no sense at all.

Not as sad as your random and unwarranted accusations.
But anyway, “Ladies in the 90s” is the second-best thing Lauren has ever done and if it flops I’ll be more upset than I was with any of her previous flops.
