Can anybody pull how long it took "Doin' Fine" to hit top 40? This song is looking like it might do so tonight. Both songs had/are having a hell of a time getting to the top 40, but once "Doin Fine" finally did, it was able to move up to top 25 at rather moderate pace. Took "Doin Fine" 29 weeks to hit the Top 40 on Billboard in addition to not charting for a good month after the add date. Compared to "Ladies In The 90s" which set a new peak this week at #40 entering the Billboard Top 40 in it's 24th week. So looks like "Ladies In The 90s" is at a bit of a faster pace than "Doin Fine" is as of right now. I suppose this is a good thing, since Doin' Fine was coming directly off a #1 song and lots of buzz. At the same time, "Ladies" is selling far better than "Doin' Fine" and is also a lead single. Given that, I am hopeful (and realistically think) that this song can get top 20 and stir enough buzz to get the album out.

It feels like it's moving up so slow, so it surprises me that it made it to the top40 that much faster than Doin' Fine! but yeah, I'm glad it's selling better, Doin' Fine struggled so much on sales. I don't know if Lauren even has an album to put out though. Before the last one, she hinted the album for yearsss. she was always talking about being on the studio, doing photoshoots for the album, saying she was so excited for everyone to hear it, like, always talking about the process. now she hasn't been talking anything about it, so I'm afraid it's not coming out that early even if LIT90s does make it to the top20.

"Ladies In The 90s" enters the Mediabase Top 40 this week moving up 2 spots to #40 with a weak bullet of only 21 however next weekend she gets CT40 spins which will help her song get a bit more of a spark. "Ladies In The 90s" becomes Lauren Alaina's 7th Top 40 ("Like My Mother Does", "Georgia Peaches", "Eighteen Inches", Road Less Traveled", "What Ifs", and "Doin Fine") btw.
This song went for adds about half a year ago. Given the pace (24-26 weeks to get into the Top 40) I do think Lauren Alaina can marathon chart run into a Top 25 to Top 20 finish. Still selling well enough, and I imagine this song is just squeaking by testing wise to keep sneaking through the cracks.

didn't someone(raylatch??) on this thread eariler mention she was finally shooting a video for this song? I wonder what is happening with that(if anything)? Maybe a cool video for this song could give it a nice spark.

Sorry for the double post in less than a day.
Looks like "Ladies In The 90s" did go recurrent on Billboard tonight unfortunately. I hope the label does rally and get this song back on the chart next week and can keep at it. I was optimistic because I didn't think the losses were so severe but I guess wrong.

How common is it for songs to come back on the chart after being recurrent? It feels unusual. If this is the end of this single's chart-run on Billboard, I'd be very disappointed tho.

It doesn't happen all the time, but it's not uncommon on the country charts at all. I definitely expect the label to keep pushing this one and for it to re-enter the charts.

Especially with this just now cracking the top 40 and earning CT40 spins this week, this has got to be safe to re-enter. Dustin Lynch's "Good Girl" went recurrent then went #1, so...

"Ladies In The 90s" didn't re-enter the chart tonight, which is very unfortunate as I imagine this probably would have reentered around the 36-39 range probably setting a new peak along the way as well.

This week the gains weren't high enough to get onto the Billboard chart. That's it.

I'm surprised this one hasn't re-entered Billboard yet. It's been steadily growing on Mediabase the last 2 weeks. Especially with Kacey re-entering over Lauren, that surprised me. Maybe next week!!!

I was surprised it didn't re-enter 2 weeks ago as it did get a nice CT40 boost to help with airplay that week. But this past week the song was almost dead even in terms of audience gains. Hoping this week is the week it re-enters, but even if it does I am not optimistic about it's chances given how hectic the release schedule is about to be and how old this song is.

Love this song but its time to let it go and see what else she can release. Yeah I am not optimistic and they should especially drop it if UMG Nashville wants to release the Jon Pardi and Lauren Alaina duet as the lead single for Jon Pardi that will be on his next album as that could be a semi decent way to get Lauren Alaina reintroduce and remind radio listeners of Lauren Alaina.

I don't think dropping it to move onto something else right now would be wise, especially if she's got a duet with Jon Pardi coming out in the next few months (which would likely mean she'd have no new solo single on the radio to follow this -- and while the duet will help her, I think it'll help her more to have "Ladies in the 90s" already up the charts a bit, too).

Jon's "Night Shift" seems to be almost done on radio. If that happens, couldn't the duet w/Lauren be out very soon? I assume that's the 1st single to the new album.

Maybe they should try this at HAC with all the other songs being sent over. I mean why not? I don't think they actually will but wouldn't that be something if they did and it actually did something?

Looks like several songs are lined up ready to pass this on Mediabase soon. Wouldn't be surprised to see it back in the 40s within a couple weeks unless a few songs ahead of her go recurrent to offset the drop. Just doesn't seem like it's going to get legs, but I've heard nothing about any new recording going on, so it's just hard to say what's going to happen. I love Lauren and her voice is elite. I'm not really that crazy about this particular song, though.

I'm not really that crazy about this particular song, though. You might be right. Lauren Alaina fell back to #38 (will be #37 when Brett Young goes recurrent) on Mediabase and this will be the third week in a row where Lauren Alaina tries to re-enter Billboard and judging by today's bullet she isn't getting back on yet. With this song being so complacent and not moving for a while (practically no audience gained the past 5 weeks), and a lot of harder hitter songs about to pass her (Midland, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Matt Stell) I am really not seeing much positive in the future for this song as radio has just let it remain stuck in the 35-40 range on Mediabase, best case scenario seems to be this lays around in the 30s and 40s for another 3 to 4 months and cracks the Top 30 in September. If I was the label I would hold on to this until the Jon Pardi duet was about to be released and then drop this song once the duet is released to radio. How long the wait is for that song who knows, but with "Night Shift" done after today, I imagine that duet isn't too far away.

It debuted on the Hot Country Songs this week. Unfortunately, it's still recurrent on the Country Airplay chart and it looks like this might be done soon.

They haven't even released the music video for this song yet which makes me think they're gonna keep propping this one up until it can re-enter the country charts. It had some nice gains the other day, too.

It had some nice gains the other day, too. They might just release the music video regardless of this one being promoted to radio in the coming weeks, as this song seems to be out of gas with a negative 85 bullet and losing over 100 spins the past 4 days and has nearly fallen out of the Mediabase Top 40 altogether. The label can still keep trying to prop it back up and get it back on Billboard, but it's quite clear country radio isn't gonna let this song get any further on the charts and judging by this week I do not see Lauren Alaina re-entering anytime soon, so there's not much upside in promoting this imo.

This has been a strange run for this song just when it seems to have some momentum it falls back again. It looks like Carly had a even worse week.

This has been a strange run for this song just when it seems to have some momentum it falls back again. It looks like Carly had a even worse week. Every song with a female voice that wasn't Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, and Carrie Underwood struggled in the Mediabase Top 50. Lauren Alaina, Ashley McBryde, and Carly Pearce all lost their bullet. Kacey Musgraves has waved the white flag, Tenille Townes is barely moving an inch on the chart. Runaway June is crawling along with horrible sales. Even songs that are male/female didn't have a great week Lady Antebellum had their expected fallback week after their huge debut last week and the Brantley Gilbert & Lindsay Ell duet has really slowed down. I know it is asking a lot for country radio, but can we have at least 1 or 2 of these lesser known female artists (Lauren Alaina, Lindsay Ell, Runaway June, Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce) get a Top 5 hit that isn't OTV assisted.

Instead of beating up country radio, why don't you ask the listeners why they dislike each individual song?
