FINALLY! I don't know if she's done at radio or not, but this is the right song to find out with. Why would she be done? I think "I Hate Love Songs" kind of underperforming is leaving her future with radio a bit uncertain with people, especially because she is a female artist and it can take 1 underperforming single to send a career in a tailspin (Kip Moore and Hunter Hayes especially come to mind).

I Hate Love Songs should never have been released. Roses should’ve been second and then this third. Hopefully this can save the era, females have it difficult on Country radio and like someone else mentioned...I’m afraid Country could abandon her.
On a positive note - Miss Me More reminds me of a snarky Carrie Underwood breakup song and I think that could connect with the audience very well, and imagine all the performances we’ll get (if they do decide to promote).

IHLS deserved much more.. I really hope this smashes though, I’d hate for Kelsea to become the next Gretchen Wilson.

I like this choice, Im hopeful for this song!! It has more energy then the last two, and thats something this era needs in my opinion.

Perfect choice. This and "Roses" stood out immediately on release as the obvious smashes of the album. It's a shame radio didn't take to IHLS, but I'm glad that they're moving on to this and not continuing to sink time and money into reviving that one since it's clear it wasn't the best choice for radio. To be fair though, it connected well with the general public before release and moved the needle decently well despite sluggish movement on the charts, so even though it peaked lower than all her other singles to date, I don't think she's in any danger of losing her place at country radio. I definitely expect Kelsea to stick around and continue having hits. I think "Miss Me More" will get her back into the Top 10, and I'm also excited to hear the new bonus tracks and to see how her crossover single w/ The Chainsmokers does, because Maren's was a huge success and boosted her profile a lot, so it'll be nice if Kelsea gets the same treatment.

Yeah, i think this is a perfect choice. It’s been a while since we have had some sassy Kelsea, and it goes back to the method that got her so much success on her debut. I look for this, like the third single on her first CD, to be the biggest hit.
And if The Chainsmokers song hits, this definitely has crossover potential as a follow up

Thank goodness. This and "Get Over Yourself" are both too good to be left as album tracks. Hopefully that one will be 4th. Don't get the "Roses" love... it's middle of the road on the album for me

WHY this wasn't the follow up to "Legends" is still beyond me! This had BETTER smash still!!!!!!!!!! This song has crossover hit written all over it...

Excellent! I love this one. Such a jam. Hopefully her momentum isn’t hurt and won’t affect this one’s performance.

I think I would like this a lot more if it wasn't for the weird sound effect at the end of the chorus. Seriously wtf is that? It sounds so out of place and just random.
Unpopular take but I would have gone with the title track. I do think this will be a hit, but I have a gut feeling that it'll be more "Yeah Boy" and less "Peter Pan".

This sounds like a Brittney Spears song circa late 2000's. It's not bad, but its a full pop song with minimal country elements. "Roses" or "Unapologetically" would have been better options IMO. We will see how this does, the era seems to be devoid of momentum, although I could see The Chainsmokers song bumping up her momentum and buzz since that one seems to have a chance of being a decent sized pop hit.

I hate this song. It’s hands down my least favorite song she has put out on an album. I cannot stand the Daughtry-style production or her weird vocals on it, let alone the stupid verses and random snare drum reference.
I see this one flopping big time. It was time for Get Over Yourself or Roses.
I really have been rooting for her but this era is going to be one to forget for her.
Hopefully after this we get a lead single in Summer.

Hate the song or not, how you're not hearing a massive smash in this is beyond me That said, if doesn't smash, I'd argue that it IS because the era is such a mess. "I Hate Love Songs" was a terrible single choice and not having "Miss Me More" as the follow-up single was a huge mistake. I just hope the mishandling of this era hasn't killed this song's chances of becoming the smash it deserves to be. Singles after "Legends" should have been "Miss Me More' and "Get Over Yourself," in that order, period.

I was about to come on here and predict that "Fun and Games" would be her next single. The iTunes preview sounds like "The First Time"-era Kelsea. But regarding this song, this should be a smash and I'm glad they're pursuing a third single from the original album which, in my opinion, is full of great single choices.
In retrospect, "I Hate Love Songs" would have been a great single had it come later. To me, it had "Peter Pan" potential, but two slower songs in a row from a female was a huge risk that ultimately didn't play out. Sad to see Kelsea's top 3 streak end, but happy that it forced her team to put out this smash of a song. Should've been single #2 or even single #1.

Hate the song or not, how you're not hearing a massive smash in this is beyond me I have been wrong many, many times but I feel like this one is too far down the pop spectrum and I also don't see many men relating to or liking this one at all, leading to poor callout. It's also not catchy enough to stick in your head or be something you remember after hearing it one time. That is not even touching upon some of the most random lyrics in her entire catalog (though the hook is excellent (I thought I'd miss you/but I miss me more)). I see this one stalling early, especially with her extreme loss of momentum. This really feels like it should have been a bonus track from Play On to me or something Daughtry should be singing on. I don't know, its just really, really, really bad to me. I gave it another shot today and bleh.

I am here to disagree with everyone! I really liked "I Hate Love Songs". I think "Legends" is where she went wrong and that song ruined her momentum and excitement. This song will not smash, as it is cheesy af, and the Chainsmokers song is a major disappointment. Sorry!

Add me to the list of those above that don’t like this. I enjoyed both “Legends” and “I Hate Love Songs” but the production and vocal arrangement on this is a turn off. While this may end being a hit I can also see it being a bit polarizing at radio. This thread is already an early indicator that there’s a strong like/dislike for this lol.

Going for adds on the same day as Lauren Alaina's new lead. Not sure who that's better for. Probably bad for both. Eek.

Country Forum Posting Guidelines 1) Post with Content. You don’t have to be perfect about this, and enthusiasm isn’t a crime, but we’d rather have posts driven by thoughts and ideas. If you develop a pattern of posting in the “discouraged” zone below, we’ll work with you to try to correct it, but you won’t get warned unless you’re incredibly stubborn about content-free posting. Anyway, below is the “discouraged zone”, a list of some posting examples that you should avoid: "I love this song!" "Get that smash!" "Heard it on the radio today!" "This song sucks." "#18 on Mediabase today!" Such 'drive-by' comments don’t really add to the discussion. When posting, it helps if you explain yourself. What specific things (vocals, lyrics, melody, production, etc) do you like or dislike about a song? We don’t need each post to be multiple paragraphs in length, nor are we looking for a thesis or a research paper. If you can explain something in 1 or 2 sentences, that’s acceptable. Just keep in mind that this is a discussion board, not a chat room.

Going for adds on the same day as Lauren Alaina's new lead. Not sure who that's better for. Probably bad for both. Eek. It seemed unnecessary to pick that week the following week is pretty open she might have done better. I think it’s risky if she can’t pull close to Lauren it makes her look like her star is falling a bit.
