I kind of like this but I’m very surprised more people aren’t complaining about this “not being country enough” — imo this is every bit as poppy as the new ZBB single, which people have had nothing but complaints about. I guess the big difference is that Ballerini has always skewed on the poppy side of the spectrum.
Anyways, this sounds like a big hit but could stall around the top 10 due to being polarizing — should still do better then IHLS tho.

I love almost everything about this...the style, the melody, the words; the feeling she delivers.
But my God is it over-freakin' produced...if this was toned down (even just enough so her vocals weren't softer than the "drums") it would be a great example of country doing pop right.

I mean if we are going to criticize the Zac Brown Band song for being pop instead of country than let's call a spade to spade and criticize this song for being pop as well. Seems only fair.

How about we just accept that country music in 2018 doesn't exist in a vacuum that only includes steel guitars and fiddle and forget about this complaint all together?

Why do you get to decide what type of country we want to hear? Isn't there room for variety? I think the main issue is that up until recently there's been none. Folks like ZBB, The Band Perry, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Chris Young, Easton Corbin, and others who were kind of keeping the twang alive in the past 5-8 years have either gone trendy, grown old, or gone crazy.

How about we just accept that country music in 2018 doesn't exist in a vacuum that only includes steel guitars and fiddle and forget about this complaint all together? How about we accept that some people think a song sent to country radio doesn't sound country while another person does think the same song sounds country? I didn't say anything about steel guitar and fiddle or anything like that btw. My point was more about how people we're going on about how the Zac Brown Band song is not country, but then this is when sonically I don't hear a big difference. The "Not country, or "Doesn't sound country" opinion on any song shouldn't be discouraged, on here and is a totally valid reason to not like a song. Especially if you are a person who primarily listens to only country music. I feel like in 2018 what people find to be country music to be completely subjective and objectionable, so if you view a song as not "country" and dislike it because it is labelled country despite what you think than that's perfectly fine.

Folks like ZBB, The Band Perry, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Chris Young, Easton Corbin, and others who were kind of keeping the twang alive in the past 5-8 years have either gone trendy, grown old, or gone crazy. I literally never said anything about deciding what type of country you should want to hear. Variety is literally the point my statement was making by saying country music doesn't exist in a vacuum. Other genres can influence it and have over the years, so the "this isn't country" argument is tired because country has just evolved over the years. Sure, traditional country music has grown smaller and smaller over the years, but we still have Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne, Midland, Chris Stapleton, Jon Pardi, etc. are still putting out some good "traditional country" music that radio is playing (at least to some degree). I do wish that there were more artists that have that more traditional sound that radio would play today, but I love that they play songs like this as well.

Wow this is actually moving pretty nicely for a song that I thought was a bit too sonically out there for country radio! Moving faster than "I Hate Love Songs" for sure, I think.

"I Hate Love Songs" should never have been a single. Excited to see how this one does, it rivals "Peter Pan" as my favorite from her

"Miss Me More" moved up five spots on Mediabase to #39. So that means this weekend this song should see a nice boost due to getting CT40 spins.
The CMA Performance really helped sales with this song and those sales have seemed to stabilize. As of me typing this is #105 all genre on iTunes.
I imagine with high sales and this song already being in the Top 40 on both charts a little over a month after going for adds. That and I expect with "Rich" falling, I imagine a lot of the female spins will go to this and a little less so "Love Wins".

This jumped back into the top 10 all-genre on iTunes following last night's The Voice performance. Between this song (should've been the 2nd single all along), the TV spots, and her feature on pop radio, It feels like she's recapturing the sort of momentum her debut album era had.

I do like this song. But that Voice performance was awful. Kelsea Ballerini sounded pretty bad live which is shocking because her in studio voice sounds fairly decent. Not great, but passable.

Now that we're here, I cannot believe "Legends" and "I Hate Love Songs" were ever singles. What a waste of potential. Glad this song is picking up for her and shaping up to be a huge hit.

New Billboard peak of #32 tonight. This song is really, really moving. I wonder how fast it will outpeak IHLS.

"Miss Me More" moves up 3 spots to #30 on Mediabase tonight. Kelsea Ballerini is really off to a great start, the sales have remained positive (#100 all genre on iTunes) and the gains are great as this song on Mediabase has gained 557 spins the past 3 weeks (a bit under 190 spins a week).
Besides Carrie Underwood, this is the only female song in the Top 30, that should bode very well and unlike "Love Wins", "Miss Me More" is both a younger song and selling better. Definitely think this song will take off a lot in 2019.

I really think this could end up becoming her first crossover smash, especially since the Chainsmokers collab will give her some pop momentum. They need to send this for adds on CHR immediately after this (hopefully) hits #1 in the spring.

I heard this song for the first time on the radio last night, after driving home from work and I could not tell if this was Lauren Alaina or Danielle Bradbury singing. I did not know it was Kelsea Ballerini!! I thought to myself this sounds waaay to 1990's pop or 90's dance music you would hear at 24 hour fitness. I would not doubt if this song gets to #1 before summertime. I still like "Legends" as my favorite single from her. Her last single was a disappointment. IHLS had a unique sound to it, which I liked.

I know I’m being kinda petty here, but it is not the first time I’ve seen it and it just irks me (sorry). It’s Danielle Bradbery, not Bradbury.

Kelsea posted an IG story that this is her fastest rising single (top 20) ever. 👏

I didn't know about Mediabase. I just checked Billboard as I figured that was what she was referencing. Both are at a pretty similar pace at the end of the day. Good for her though, as this song does look to be as big or maybe just a bit more of a hit than "Peter Pan".

It really says a lot about Country radio when a song as poppy and non-Country as this is currently Top 20, when Kacey Musgraves doesn’t even have a Top 50 charting song while her album is up for Album of the Year at the Grammys.

The difference has nothing to do with how "poppy" this song may be and everything to do with the fact that Kacey doesn't care about radio and her team doesn't push anything to radio like Kelsea and her team do. Plus, as we all know here, radio quite often treats high quality music like garbage. As a superfan of Kacey's, I'm not sure how she has anything to do with "Miss Me More", especially because nothing on Golden Hour is stone-cold country either. "Miss Me More" fits in perfectly with the sound of modern country music, which is why this is becoming a big hit.
