It really says a lot about Country radio when a song as poppy and non-Country as this is currently Top 20, when Kacey Musgraves doesn’t even have a Top 50 charting song while her album is up for Album of the Year at the Grammys. Well, it's a lot different when an artist is delivering tracks to radio and one is not. Kacey has all but made her point with regards to her indifference to mainstream radio airplay and is clearly not using the same marketing or rollout techniques as Ballerini, Maren Morris, Carrie Underwood, etc. Based on her various performances and activity across social media, she appears to be more interested in generating music that is sonically different with each effort and building her touring act by increasing her visibility internationally. It's nonsensical to compare these two acts when the intent and trajectory of their respective careers are wildly different.

Radio was never fully behind Kacey. I mean, they let “Follow Your Arrow” die at #43 despite its Top 10 appearance on the blended country chart and the incredible buzz surrounding it. I understand the song was controversial, but come on.

With this entering the top 20 on Billboard, there are a whole 2 females in the top 20! I wonder if listeners will be able to withstand all of that estrogen...

Add my name to the list of those who were very disappointed that IHLS wasn't at least a top ten single, but I love this tune and expect it to do very well.
I also feel wholeheartedly that her future at country radio is NOT in any danger, and I fail to see why it should be; I hope she has a long career at country radio.

I hate this song, but I was wrong. It is EVERYWHERE and has definitely regained most of the momentum she lost with Legends and I Hate Love Songs. Smart decision ending the album on this single and carrying this momentum into album #3.

If they go with one more single after this peaks, I say go with Roses. That one sounds like classic Taylor and there’s no way it wouldn’t smash. High School is cute but doesn’t even come close to Peter Pan at any form. And considering how Legends underperformed while IHLS straight up flopped, I’d think that’d be a very bad choice after getting the momentum back from MMM.

Considering how quickly this one has risen up the charts and keeping in mind the timeline for her debut album (a lot of us thought they might stop after "Peter Pan" but they still went 4 deep on that record), I'd be surprised if they moved on after this single. I expect we'll get one more, and I personally feel like either "Roses" or the title track would be the best options they could go with, maybe "Get Over Yourself" (though the chorus of that one is harder to sing along to so I've always felt like that wouldn't make it an ideal single). "High School" is cute and appeals to her main demographic lyrically, but it shouldn't even be a contender imo.

I do hope they go for the title track as that is my favorite Kelsea Ballerini song.

"Get Over Yourself" is my all-time favorite Kelsea song (okay tied with Peter Pan), so I'd obviously love that to get released as a single, but I honestly think Kelsea may move on after MMM. She's been teasing unreleased music for almost a year now and with the increased momentum with MMM plus "This Feeling", I could see her really having an explosive 3rd album era out of the gate with the right lead single if it were to come out this summer.
I could see a 4th single getting released, and there will still be lots of hype around the lead single from KB3 even if a 4th single underperforms, but I think if new music is ready to go soon and they've got a smash for a lead, then that ought to be next instead of something from this album. Other than GOY, I don't hear "smash hit" with anything else on this album - the rest just kind of feels safe. I guess I could get behind a "Roses" release or maybe "High School", but both of those get more praise than they deserve, imo. And don't get me started on "Unapologetically"... I'll be extremely upset if I have to sit through that as a single.
Anyway, I'm just glad this incredible song has gotten her back on track with radio!

I swear she teased new music coming soon via Twitter or Instagram in the last day or two... No?

From the album topic:
^I wouldn't think it's impossible for them to change the plan, and I don't know if Kelsea has music ready to go, but I think if MMM goes top 5 or even top 1 they shouldn't wait too much. I think for follow up Roses would be the safe chance, even though Get Over Yourself is my favourite.

Welp, I guess that erases all possibility of another single from the album. Straight from her own mouth. I'm actually excited to hear that though. I would much rather them put out a new lead single next than release something else from her sophomore record, because I am ready for new music and like others have said, she'd probably be poised to have a bigger hit if the follow-up to "Miss Me More" is a lead (provided it sounds like a smash).

Correct - I said it because she said it. Okay but it certainly wouldn't have hurt you to put that she'd said that herself when you first brought it up.

I hope Kelsea finds the right balance between fun (LLYMI, “Dibs”, “Yeah Boy”) and boring (a lot of the Unapologetically album) on KB3. If she does that, she’ll find great success at radio and maybe critically also.

I think the songwriting evolved from very juvenile songs like Dibs and Yeah Boy, but I think the production is sometimes lacking.
She mentioned that she already has 7 songs picked, but I think this might change depending on what the strategy is.

Yeah, I agree that the songwriting has improved, but songs like “Graveyard” and “Legends” are just missing something that made the ballads on her debut great imo.

Her debut had some truly bad songs ('Sirens', 'Secondhand Smoke', 'Stilettos') but so does her second effort ('Machine Heart', 'End of the World', 'Unapologetically') however while I don't love the over the pop production on Unapologetically, its definitely more mature. Even a song I don't like like this single, is a very mature, adult song. It is kind of like Taylor going from Speak Now to Red, for me.
I am excited for album 3.

I would like to see this cross over to pop because I think it would do well. I heard this for the first time this past week and I instantly loved it.

I remember hearing this song for the first time when she performed it at the CMA Awards and I really liked it. It's not very country, but it's catchy and it has a great chorus. It's well-written. I would love to see it become somewhat of a hit because I think it's a great song.

The Spotify single for this is WAY better than this overproduced Spice Girls/Daughtry version. I actually kinda like that one.
Though I don't get the appeal of this song, I am SO happy she has rebounded. I want to see her star get brighter and brighter, not dim out.

This song is connecting so well just like I always expected it would from the first time I put this CD in my car in November 2017. I think it's going to go down as her second-biggest hit right behind "Peter Pan."
