SiriusXM's The Highway is very confused about this song. Now for the second straight week I have heard this song introduced on their Top 30 Countdown as "Back To Life" but then "Back To Us" actually gets played. Kinda wanna tweet The Highway and tell them about it, but now that it's gone a second week with the same mistake I kind of want to see how long it will go until they notice it. I am dead at this because I am listening to a country radio program, New Music Nashville and they made the same mistake playing "Back to Us" instead of "Back to Life". Just a mess all around. 😂😂 Anyways "Back to Life" is at #36 on Mediabase after 13 weeks in the Top 50 and has managed to hold its own during the holiday slowdown. Definitely think this song will match the Billboard peak and maybe go a bit above, beyond that remains so uncertain in my opinion.

I think these folks are done at country radio. and this musicaL snoozefest when combined Gary Levox's fingernails-scraping-the-chalkboard vocals remain as unbearable as ever.

What's the difference between Gary LeVox and a whale? One weighs several tons and sings at an incredibly high pitch. The other lives in the ocean. Don’t quit your day job.

Why can't we discuss the merits of Gary LeVox's music instead of resorting to attacks on his physical appearance? On this song, I doubt it'll do much for Rascal Flatts. I agree with Marv that it's a snoozer. Will probably end up peaking in the 20s but it'll be enough to get their next album out. Nothing more. They'll be fine making money on concerts, merchandise, and old music sales.

I thought the same thing a few years ago but then “I Like the Sound of That” became one of the biggest hits of their career, so I wouldn’t count them out just yet.

First of all, I don't think many people here take Farce The Music seriously or hold much respect. Second of all, you can criticize an artist without getting personal and going after someone's weight is a personal attack and is below the belt.

Didnt you recently apologize for this kind of behavior in the Dan + Shay thread? 🤔

I am sure if whoever Farce The Music is posted on here, we would say the same. Go over to that website and make fun of his weight if that is what you want and it's acceptable there.

This thread is being looked at with staff, so let's get back on track here with "Back To Life."

I deleted my post. I'm overweight myself and often joke about my weight, so I didn't think that would come off as offensive as it did.
Getting back to this song... it'ss surprisingly pleasant. Nothing earth shaking but decent. Gary's voice is very palatable on this, and the production is nicely restrained. I don't think it has the "punch" of a good lead single, but it does feel like RF is playing to their strengths a lot more on the last few albums. I have a feeling that if they'd gone back to songs like this an album or two earlier, then they might have a little more momentum.
Also, am I the only one who's noticed that Rascal Flatts seems to have a disproportionately high number of songs in triple meter? They have by far the highest number of songs in 3/4 or 6/8 time of any artist I can think of. "I'm Movin' On," "Feels Like Today," "Skin (Sarabeth)", "Every Day", "Easy", "Come Wake Me Up", and now this one are all in triple meter.

Once again my station played "Back to Us" isntead of "Back to Life". Always find it funny, even if it doesn't help this songs chart run as I imagine other stations occasionally have this mess up with the two songs.
The chart run is so lackluster for this song, out of all the songs that are in the 30s on the chart, Rascal Flatts is probably overall the slowest lately. I do still feel like this can sneak back into the Top 30 but probably not peak much higher than that.

If "Back to Life" reaches the top 20, it will likely be Rascal Flatts' last appearance there, unfortunately. If this couldn't be a hit for them, I don't think anything could.

I'm not sure how much higher I see this one going. It feels like it's been out forever, and is still outside of Billboard's top 20. With nothing going recurrent probably in the next two weeks or so, I'm not really sure that this one has a path to move up any higher.

This goes recurrent after 49 weeks and a #17 peak. I'm not sure I see them getting that high on the charts again, if this one took that long to get there, and there is no album announcement in sight.

They just want to release singles right now, no album anytime soon. I don’t believe another radio single is on the horizon until 2020.

Albums are too expensive to produce. Just stick to cost-effective sales and streaming by releasing individual singles and promoting them. Good for Rascal Flatts.
