I noticed that too. I really enjoy listening to the HOT AC edition of AT40. A lot of great music.

Yes, the same to both of you.  Current Hot AC shows are really enjoyable with a lot of great music.
I think that the Premiere production team faces strong pressure from the affiliate stations of the CHR show not to play older songs, as many of them have a programming policy to play "current and recurrent songs only", but not "gold" songs.  

Here is comparison of sample hour playlists (October 6, at 8:00 PM by Mediabase).
You will understand why the Hot AC show will be able to play more good older songs without restriction or pressure.
