I had to look it up, despite having listened to the song several times in the past week! I actually didn't know that one went #1. {Spoiler}Also it looks like the label wasn't consistent on whether Rollercoaster is one word or two - not that it came to mind for me anyways.

But that song's title is "Love Rollercoaster", so not a one word title. I can't find a 13 letter one...the closest I can find are "Superstition" and "Frankenstein" at 12 letters each. EDIT: Never mind, I misread "to CONTAIN" a 13 letter word and thought we were just talking about one word song titles.

Ghostbusters, Bootilicious, Promiscuous, Cheerleader and Unbelievable are other #1's with 12-letter words. As is (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction. Not sure that's the complete list, but I think it's close.

This thread's been inert too long, so I'm reviving it because I noticed that this is a very rare period on the charts where there are two acts in the top ten recently whose names end in the letter "X".
So here's a list of the 50 biggest songs in chart history by acts where the last letter is "X".
Rank Year Track | Artist 1 1998 Nobody's Supposed To Be Here | Deborah Cox 2 1989 Right Here Waiting | Richard Marx 3 1979 Babe | Styx 4 1972 I Gotcha | Joe Tex 5 1985 I Miss You | Klymaxx 6 1981 The Best Of Times | Styx 7 1988 Hold On To The Nights | Richard Marx 8 1988 Endless Summer Nights | Richard Marx 9 1988 Naughty Girls (Need Love Too) | Samantha Fox 10 1963 Easier Said Than Done | The Essex 11 2009 Blame It | Jamie Foxx 12 2019 Old Town Road | Lil Nas X 13 1983 Mr. Roboto | Styx 14 1989 Satisfied | Richard Marx 15 1987 Should've Known Better | Richard Marx 16 1974 Rock On | David Essex 17 1972 Precious And Few | Climax 18 1983 One Thing Leads To Another | The Fixx 19 1987 Touch Me (I Want Your Body) | Samantha Fox 20 1987 Don't Mean Nothing | Richard Marx 21 1994 Now And Forever | Richard Marx 22 1986 Let's Go All The Way | Sly Fox 23 1989 Angelia | Richard Marx 24 1991 Show Me The Way | Styx 25 1983 Don't Let It End | Styx 26 1975 Lady | Styx 27 1990 Everybody Everybody | Black Box 28 1991 Strike It Up | Black Box 29 1978 Come Sail Away | Styx 30 2006 Ms. New Booty | Bubba Sparxxx 31 1993 Slam | Onyx 32 1981 Too Much Time On My Hands | Styx 33 1989 I Wanna Have Some Fun | Samantha Fox 34 1963 Mockingbird | Inez Foxx 35 1989 Put A Little Love In Your Heart | Annie Lennox 36 1965 Hold What You've Got | Joe Tex 37 1967 Skinny Legs And All | Joe Tex 38 1989 Don't Close Your Eyes | Kix 39 2014 Boom Clap | Charli XCX 40 2010 Bulletproof | La Roux 41 1972 Bang A Gong (Get It On) | T. As well as producing Totally! Useless! lists like the top 3,000 hits in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, I also create totally useless trivia quizzes on the website Sporcle. This one may be of interest to Pulse chartwatchers: Sporcle quiz: One of two: #1 Singles.
A set of music trivia questions of Hot 100 #1 songs where there are only 2 valid answers. Some will be easy, others, maybe not. rockgolf - nice work on this website. You might want to edit the answer in "One of two: #1 Singles" about Whitney songs with the word "All" to include "All The Man That I Need". :)

Is OTR practically guaranteed to end up #1 on that X list?

Artists ending with X are common in any decade except the 2000s and 2010s, where 3 only happened in the 2000s (2 are from Jamie Foxx), while 4 from the 2010s with two coming from this year (Lil Nas X and Ava Max)

Well, as bbfan97 theorized, Old Town Road by Lil Nas X, now that it has fallen off the charts, does indeed make #1 on the earlier list of biggest songs where the name of the act ends in "X". But as one "X" closes, another opens. "The Box" has now tied "The Reflex" as the longest run at #1 for song titles ending in "X" at two weeks each. Roddy Ricch should have the record to himself next week. BTW, those are the only two #1 songs on the Hot 100 to end in X. I'll try to look up a list of runners-up either tonight or this weekend. "I Want Your Sex" is sure to be in it. I believe "X" is now tied with "Z" for the last letter on the fewest #1 hits. Excluding letters like "V" or "Q" that I don't think have ever been the last letter of a #1. It's just useless enough for me to look into!

Let’s see...
30 years ago, the year-end number one for pop was “Hold On” by Wilson Phillips. Coincidentally, a very different “ Hold On” took the crown over on R&B (En Vogue). To make things even more interesting, they both appeared together in the top 10 of the Hot 100 for a brief time.
Now that... is something never happened before and likely never will again.

@wolfspear: I don't know of two different song titles that both hit #1 while their chart runs overlapped, there are many cases where two different songs with the same song title were in the top 40 simultaneously. Offhand, there's "Superstar" by both Murray Head (a.k.a "Jesus Christ Superstar") and Carpenters ("Long ago and oh, so far away..."), also "I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz or Stevie Nicks.
What's the most recent example?
As to "never happening again", with the tendency for songs to have single word titles, I'd say it's more likely than ever.

Not sure if I should include songs like "Ignition (Remix)". Thoughts?

Ignition (Remix) technically ends in ) so that would be debatable. It would also open the door for More (Remix), and sometimes I've seen it credited as I Took A Pill In Ibiza (Seeb Remix)

oooh here's a good question-
has there ever been a week with no downward movements?
i.e. a week where every song either moves upwards, debuts, or reenters, with all falling songs going completely off the charts?
and on that same topic, what's the least movement there's ever been in a single week's chart?

Before Billboard started doing Christmas week charts, they skipped that week and in effect kept all songs in the same position for a second week. But I don't think there's even been a regular week where there hasn't been at least one change of position in even the top ten.

It has happened a couple times where the top 10 was the exact same, outside of a Christmas week. The last time was pretty recently, in 2013. www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/2013-08-24

I've updated the list of songs ending in "X" above to include titles where the main title ends in "X" or the subtitle ends in "X". I've excluded "Remix", which seems to be haphazardly applied. For example the R. Kelly song "Ignition" is not listed with "(Remix)" on the Hot 100, but is usually included in the name. I've kept some titles that ended with "Mix" in the title or subtitle because they seem to be important distinctions.
You'll notice FGTH's 2nd charting of "Relax" fared better than the original, and would have qualified whether I included the subtitle or not.

The last time was pretty recently, in 2013. www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/2013-08-24In case anyone was wondering, the last time the Billboard 200’s top 10 stayed in place was March 3, 1990. The entire top 13 did not move. www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200/1990-03-03
