"Drunk Me" actually grew on me after a while but this is just no, hard pass.

I am surprised they went with another song about alcohol. Weird start to a career. It isn’t a bad song I just assumed they would separate these two with at least one single in between.

Haven't heard the song yet. But based on the title, this does not look promising.

Did they push this way back before Drunk Me and it didn't do anything? If so, obviously things will be different this time around. I'm surprised no one has used this phrase in a song before, I think it works really well. Excited for his full album!

This is no “Drunk Me,” and I agree it’s weird he chose this after a song titled “Drunk Me”.

Yikes, this is pretty bad. I usually like gravelly voices but good lord he sounds awful on the chorus. Also, "alcohol you later" is a painfully bad hook. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a hit. The melody is pretty strong and the song is abrasively pop in a way that radio likes.

I absolutely love this title Too bad the song isn't that good... I'm kind of lost on this guy. "Bithces" and "Drunk Me" are both pretty terrible, and although this is better, it's not something I like on first listen and I have doubts that it will grow on me. He also has the kind of voice I typically don't care for, but with the right material, I'd probably enjoy him... if I can get over the bad taste in my mouth from "Bitches"

Love the pun. However, this guy is a douche. Hope he’s a one hit wonder.

This song is terrible, but sadly I could see it having success.

Buy the CD and you get a code to download “Bitches” and the acoustic version of “Drunk Me”.

No album thread yet, but HDD predcted the album to have 11-14k pure sales and 15-20k SPS first week.

I didn't see a Listening Party but has anyone else checked out the new tracks on the album? Disappointing, I can see why they went with this and I wouldn't be surprised if third is another EP song, Truck I Drove in Highschool. Very similar to Russell Dickerson's album.

The album is solid, more deep tracks than singles overall. “All on You” was one I’ve been going back to a lot.

Will somebody actually make music like this for the consumers? Instead of just doing it as a hobby? Meanwhile, this song isn't bad but the "Alchohol you later" line gets downright maddening after the 100th time. Hard pass.

His album bedore the current one is quite different sonically. Didn't know that. So like a handful of others, he sold out to attain mainstream success? rsmatto wouldn't say sold out, (no offense, rsmatto). I think it wouldn't be selling out as much as say compromising your original sound as much as possible to get success with a national and radio listening audience. For me selling out is when you have a sound that works that also keeps you popular with fans and then you ditch it to where even original fans notice such a clear difference. Chief sellout and subsequently blow up of their career goes to The Band Perry (man I love their spiral out of relevance from 2015 to now, it is still a sight to behold). With Mitchell Tenpenny, it's kind of hard for him to sellout when he is such a new artist.

With Mitchell Tenpenny, it's kind of hard for him to sellout when he is such a new artist. He made a record which was mainly a guitar driven record (he’s a great guitar guy) but he also, as a writer In Nashville, made songs like what’s on the new album. So no, no “sellout.”

I will say the term sold out or selling out has so many different connotations for people that whatever anyone thinks sell out means isn't wrong within reason. I definitely do understand where both countryisking and rsmatto are coming from despite totally opposite views.

Ugh, this guy just gives me all the wrong vibes . His song "B**ches" rubbed me the wrong way, he always looks so smug in his promo pictures, and his recent musical output is subpar at best (I also don't like his voice in the least, but he can't help that). I did like "Drunk Me," but I'm starting to think that was an anomaly. I would gladly have a female artist break out instead of him.
