I don't remember how Lonely Weekend goes, but Wonder Woman and Golden Hour deserve to be among the bottom ones. And regarding Mother, I didn't know it was so disliked
I don't think it is disliked at all. I personally love it (and I ranked it #13)... it's just that it feels more like an interlude

Pretty expected results, however I'm somewhat surprised both my #1 and #13 are still in.

I love this album so much that my first instinct seeing Golden Hour out at #10 was "How could this be out already!?", just to notice seconds later that I ranked it at #09 Literally me. But it's so good, and this album is so good, that any slight deviation from my own ranking feels like an affront to taste itself. Also "Wonder Women" is so good.

Sad but not surprised "Mother" was the first to go. Its power is in its brevity!
And "Lonely Weekend" is lovely but easily the most inconsequential song on the album.

Hmmm looks like some bulls**t occurred today
I'll check back tomorrow for better returns hopefully. Being rid of my #13 would be nice?
I guess to say something of substance about the music -- through my listening I ended up feeling like the best lyrics and the best music on this album rarely lined up. Like, one song would be super-catchy but I'd look at the transcription and think, "hmm this is cute but pretty frivolous"; and for another song I'd be hearing the words and thinking, "wow this is definitely on-point, poetic even...wish the instrumental was drawing me in more though". Because I don't place a whole lot of importance on lyrics the ones with better music usually placed higher

It makes me sad to see so many people say "Lonely Weekend" isn't up to par with expectations or that it's "inconsequential." It's one of the tracks that speaks to me the most. The whole vibe it gives off sonically matches perfectly with that melancholy feeling the lyrics portray of having time to yourself, which is great, but being sad you really didn't have any other options anyway. The "picking up your phone, putting it back down" line specifically hits home for me.

"Wonder Woman" is the only one of these that surprised me. I thought it was more popular than that.

Two perfect ranks to start out? I'll take it! I can't hear either song in my head but I don't remember them being bad? Just not good enough to escape the bottom 2 lol.
"Lonely Weekend" deserved better. Great song.

I just saw The Wife the other week and loved it. "Lonely Weekend" deserved better. Great song. We stan in agreement on this! I actually think I underranked this one by a couple of spots because I absolutely love to put this one on when I'm feeling a bit melancholy.

Not a bad start so far! "Mother" was the only correct choice for last place. It's not even long enough to be a fully formed idea of a song.
The title track is one of the most forgettable tracks on the album, so I am glad it was part of this first set! Nothing actively bad about it by any means, it is just not a very momentous song.
"Wonder Woman" is great! I'm not surprised it's in the bottom half, but I am surprised it's in the bottom 2...
"Lonely Weekend" is one that I had pretty high at first, but kept falling with repeated listens. Other songs surpassed it for me, but I still enjoy it a lot!

Not a bad start so far! "Mother" was the only correct choice for last place. It's not even long enough to be a fully formed idea of a song. I'll say while this interlude does need some more varied melodies instead of few piano notes, the idea of this song is mostly complete, as it is a bursted empathy, and feels like an aftermath of being dazzled in the world (previous track) as we can hear from the contrast in production style (of course this song is written while she was high...lol)

I loved Velvet Elvis in Summertime Madness (after which I first listened to the album in full) and tbh I'm surprised by how low I ended up putting it. Not a knock on the song at all because I still like it a lot, it's more of a testament to how good this album really is when listened to front to back.
Love Is A Wild Thing is a nice breezy track. I especially like the instrumental passage before the bridge.

I feel like "Velvet Elvis" is one of those songs you really like by itself but then somehow when you put it in the context of the album it doesn't sound as good. At least that's the way it is for me, even though I still enjoy "Velvet Elvis" a lot when I'm playing the album.
