His transition from blending in the with giant pack of young male country artists to mega superstar has been pretty cool to watch. I see no reason to believe his next era won’t be as big as his last couple.

I see no reason to believe his next era won’t be as big as his last couple. Yeah, he's become massive. Six figures in a week with 'Life Changes'. Hope he can pull it off again. And the best of his singles were more country sounding, so I hope he does go more in that direction. Pop country, at least. But as long as the songs are good, I don't care what genre it is. I do want to see him do a single like "Drink a Little Beer" for his next album.

More of Marry Me-like content and I'll instantly like it.

Please let him do another duet with his father and actually release it this time! Thanks! I recall hearing on radio there won't be any collaborations on this next project since the collaboration with his father was never released as a single.

So Thomas was upset that the duet wasn't released?

Good to know! So Thomas was upset that the duet wasn't released? Maybe not upset, but more annoyed. If this is true I'm a little surprised he doesn't have more say in what he's releasing as singles. Curious to know which single he would've switched out.

Maybe not upset, but more annoyed. If this is true I'm a little surprised he doesn't have more say in what he's releasing as singles. Curious to know which single he would've switched out. My guess would be "Unforgettable". Obviously "Craving You" and "Marry Me" especially were these huge hits, and "Life Changes" was a solid hit in its own right. My guess would be one of "Unforgettable" or "Sixteen" with me leaning slightly towards the former.

Not that surprised. Newer artists don't tend to have a lot of control in what they release. Though creatively, he seems to have control, the distribution and singles roll out he probably has little control over. Even if the labels wanted to look at numbers for their singles, "Drink a Little Beer" got a lot of early airplay (it was almost Top 50), so it very easily could've went to country radio.

If I was a betting man, I’d bet it sounds exactly like his last 10+ singles.

If I was a betting man, I’d bet it sounds exactly like his last 10+ singles. And what would that sound like? Because his music has been all over the map, from “Sixteen” to “Life Changes” to “Craving You” to “Vacation”, he really doesn’t have any particular “sound”.

If I was a betting man, I’d bet it sounds exactly like his last 10+ singles. Let's look at his last 10 singles then. "Crash and Burn": A doo-wop/blues influenced song with gang vocals. "Die a Happy Man": Country song that's basically "Thinking Out Loud" Vol. 2. "T-Shirt": Heavy pop rock influence with electronic vocal elements. "Vacation": Samples "Low Rider", with rap verses from Rhett, an organ and guitar line. "Star of the Show": Country song with steel guitar, and snaps. "Craving You": New wave/pop song. "Unforgettable": Acoustic pop, with the melody mainly in the acoustic guitar. "Marry Me": Pop country song with a slow piano melody, and gentle acoustics. "Life Changes": Barely a country song with a jaunty piano line and horns. "Sixteen": Another pop country song with a guitar melody, and slightly heavy percussion. I'd say he's probably one of the most diverse artists at the moment when it comes to sound. I wouldn't say any of these sound similar. If anything, he needs to get more similar sounding songs so he has more of an artistic identity. Though maybe his identity is "constantly sound different".

Also just because he uses the word pop doesn't mean they all sound the same. Just as their are many different styles of country music their are a lot of different styles of pop music. He used "pop" but he said it as pop rock, wave/pop, acoustic pop, and pop country.

Gotcha. 👌🏻👌🏻 They all sound the same to me no matter what kind of made-up label you want to put on it.

If I was a betting man, I’d bet it sounds exactly like his last 10+ singles. 3/4's of the songs will be somehow related to his wife, because that is all he seems to do.

I guess that means all of his singles sound the same too. And I'll do the same for George Strait and see that the word, "country" is listed a lot. Guess all of George's singles sound the same too.

I like the title. I can hear something more like Thank the Bank For The Money, Thank God For You than it being a religious song.
Sequel to South Side? lol

Gotcha. 👌🏻👌🏻 They all sound the same to me no matter what kind of made-up label you want to put on it. Was pop never put into sub-genres? News to me. And you can't just default it to pop. Pop country is also a country sub-genre, and pop rock is a rock sub-genre. "Vacation" takes hip-hop influence, so you could argue he does music is country, pop, and rock, with influences from R&B, electronic, and hip-hop. But okay, using your logic, everyone makes their singles sound the same. At least be consistent if you're going to argue that. 3/4's of the songs will be somehow related to his wife, because that is all he seems to do. There's a slight problem with that. A lot of his singles are love songs, so you can just default to them being about his wife, when a lot of them aren't even specific enough for that. Then there's "Beer With Jesus", with has nothing to do with love, but instead about a conversation and spending time with the son of a deity. "Crash and Burn" was about a failed relationship. "Vacation" was just a song about partying, "Marry Me" was about a relationship that never happened because he couldn't make the move. "Sixteen" and "Life Changes" had references to his wife, but to say they're just about his wife is ignorant of the rest of the content of either song. Sequel to South Side? lol Yes, an ass anthem after all these wholesome, more mature tunes? It'd be like an artistic regression. And for a lead single of all things? And his kids in the video? Interesting title nonetheless. I'll wonder if he'll go more religious or in a different sense.
