I find this song's chart run so strange as despite being announced as OTV back in late August this song is still bumbling through the 30s (should be at #34 on Mediabase for tonight's update), I imagine poor sales aren't helping but I figured the OTV boost would get this bare minimum Top 30 by now. I bring this up as "Family Tree" looks to have lost it's bullet on Mediabase this week and I would not be shocked to see this song without a bullet Tuesday night on Billboard. Last time they picked two OTV didn’t one under perform as well?

I don't think you are answering the question. I remember early updates suggested Drunk Me might have better chart success because it rose faster than Best Shot. Eventually though Drunk Me stuck in the 10s and then Best Shot got 3 weeks on top of airplay chart while Drunk Me peaked at #2.

i wouldn't call a #2 underperforming, especially a debut single.

This is just me speculating, but OTV treatment doesn't seem to be as powerful as it once was. I realize iHeart stations are still playing their required spins, but is it possible that other company stations are more aware of who is OTV and may not convert as quickly (or ever) due to it?
I recall "Road Less Traveled" and "Every Little Thing" jumping into the top 30 overnight after OTV kicked in. That kind of jump hasn't happened in some time.

Yeah, I remember when OTV boosts first started, they usually got artists close to the top 20 before the effect wore off and they had to continue climbing on their own merits from there on, but it almost doesn't even seem like "Family Tree" has even really benefited from the program. It bumped it into the top 40, but the impact of OTV does seem to be lessening. Ingrid's is doing better, but it's also a song that looked like it was actually taking off without OTV anyway.

Enters the Mediabase Top 30 at #28 gaining 3 spots and 80 spins this week.
So obvious good news is that "Family Tree" is Top 30 on the charts, unfortunately the audience gains have been very lackluster for weeks for this song. I an happy that Caylee Hammack has at least managed to make the Top 30 and I hope she can make the Top 20 even if it is a tall task (at least double the audience and about double her current spin total as well).

I am not surprised this one is having some trouble. It's a weird song. Ingrid's is benefiting from the exposure because she is too talented to ignore with an amazing song. This song is just odd and her voice has that raspy quality we have already seen with radio flops Sarah Buxton & Raelynn.

I agree to a point but Caylee's song was much older than Ingrid's when both were selected for the OTV program, that was a big reason. Caylee's was always destined to have a slower climb than Ingrid's. This one however has the kind of tempo corporate programmers like and it had early station support, but was hard pressed getting converted from overnight conversions until the OTV pick.

Caylee Hammack is back in the Mediabase Top 30 at #29 with a bullet of 84 for the week. Happy to see her back in the Top 30, but this song is probably spinning it's wheels at this point as assuming it stays on Billboard tomorrow night (it should) "Family Tree" will have spent the last 19 weeks in the Top 40 while being outside the Top 30. I just feel like a lack of sales and Caylee Hammack's voice sounding similar to that of other twangy female vocalists like Raelynn/Miranda Lambert (2 very polarizing artists for radio listeners) doomed this song. Honestly if it wasn't for OTV I doubt this song would have even hit the Top 40 on Billboard.

She got sent recurrent on Billboard. I wonder if the label will try to keep this one going or just give up. I'm disappointed in how this one has performed and I really wanted to see it at least peak in the top 30, but it's really been having a tough time on the charts. It's such a great song and so catchy. It feels like it maybe got overshadowed a bit by some of the other new female hits out right now, like Ingrid's. Sad that the OTV boost didn't help this one take off more than it did. :/

I kinda knew the writhing was on the wall for a while, but it still hurts to see this one end its run. Such a catchy song, I'm hoping her next single can do better I think she's got the good to deliver a great album.

I think she's got a great voice and brings something a little different to the table (I love that she's a redhead for instance, like that's something country radio hasn't had since Jo Dee Messina broke through!), so I'd love to see her get an album out there too. Rooting for her next single to do better as well if they're going to just cut their losses with this one and move on (which they probably should at this point).

Well callout came in for this score and it is not good, it's not terrible, but yeah not great as "Family Tree" has the fourth highest negative score (only better than Ryan Hurd, Garth Brooks, and Jason Aldean).
I am kind of shocked UMG Nashville didn't just let this one go after it went recurrent on Billboard in early January. Then again I imagine the label is stubbornly holding onto this (along with other labels and their ancient songs at this point) because the labels knows that as soon as they let go of this song or heck any of the songs that are 35+ weeks old it will be a while (in some cases if at all) before that artist is in the same position again.

Looks like this is one is probably officially done now. They fought to keep it alive, but it lost over 100 spins today and has a pretty nasty negative bullet rn, so I imagine it's about to freefall.

Lol, welp nevermind. She gained 80 spins today and now she has a positive bullet again. I hope this can still eek out a top 30 peak on BB, but these updates are so random. I wish this one would at least out-peak the OTV single from Tenille Townes.

I wish this one would at least out-peak the OTV single from Tenille Townes. I do think there is a chance she still goes recurrent on Billboard (yes she gained 80 spins but she gained hardly any audience). Honestly the last few updates remind me of Runaway June's "Lipstick" right near the end of it's chart run where one update would be terrible and the next would be great at both extremes until the bottom falls out very soon. As much as I would love for her to hit the Top 30 on Billboard she is probably 4th in line (I see Gone West, Chase Rice, and Miranda Lambert getting into the Top 30 before her) to enter the Top 30 on Billboard so it would probably take a few weeks at least (and she is stuck in terms of audience) before she is knocking down the Top 30 (assuming LoCash doesn't re-enter). So I have major hesitations she will be able to do that Tenille Townes peaked at #26 on Billboard with "Somebody's Daughter" so I doubt "Family Tree" would be able to match that peak since it has only gotten as high as #33 even if the label kept promoting it (they do have the same Mediabase peak at #27).

Sorry for the double post but Caylee Hammack did release a new song today called "Small Town Hypocrite" Wow, wow, wow. This is incredible. I've liked her output thus far, but this new song is easily her best. This song has such a timeless classic country female and she sang the absolute fire out of it. It would probably be a big gamble for country radio, but man, "Small Town Hypocrite" is the type of song that deserves to be huge and heard by the masses.

I have to imagine they'd have to have a radio edit because of the swear words (I am pretty sure she says shit and bitch in the song). But man i hope somehow they take the gamble and release it to radio

raylatch98 yes, they'd have to remove sh*t from the song (she says it several times), but that would be a pretty doable edit to make here. They had to do the same thing for Maren's "Rich" when it became a single and that turned out fine even though the expletives were a more prominent feature in her song than they are in Caylee's.

'Small Town Hypocrite' is great and works way better for her voice. She sounds much better in the acoustic/slower realm, from what I just heard. I like it!
