HARDY said today that "Rednecker" was put on hold by Blake Shelton and would have been recorded for Blake's upcoming album. But then HARDY signed his deal with Big Loud Records and requested the song back from Blake. He knew it had a chance to be his debut single. After hearing this a few more times, I don't hate the song, I find some enjoyment in it. Hard to look past some of the lyrics though but its melody is undeniable. "Signed, Sober You" is definitely a highlight though. He isn't an artist who will do a lot of slow ballads but that's a great outlier. “Signed, Sober You” has song of the year potential, if released as a single. It’s a smash.

Apparently Blake recorded another song that Hardy wrote with Dawson called Gods Country. Storme Warren apparently heard the song from Dawson, and was talking about it on the show. TBH I think this song would've been better if Blake had recorded it. I'm fairly sure that this joke is meant to be a sly joke, but you don't get that from the delivery.

This one does sound like one of Blake's less than stellar songs, so that makes sense. For me personally, I like exactly nothing about this song and I'm fairly disappointed to see it's looking like it'll turn into a big hit. :/

Is this one testing poorly? It got off to a really fast start to reach the top 40 and then it feels like it's dwindled to a crawl as it moves through the 30s, despite continually high sales. It just seems odd to me how much this one has slowed down after the initial hype. Definitely not complaining since I think this song is garbage and wouldn't mind at all if it just went away, but its run thus far strikes me as unusual... though it is still a young song by country radio standards so it could very easily still kick it into gear eventually and be a big hit even if takes a lot longer than I expected it would after its first weeks on the charts.

I kinda feel like this song is the reason some people hate country music.

This came on the country station playing in our office lobby and I cracked up at I piss where I want to blaring out the speakers. But I agree the whole song feels like a parody so I’m surprised to see it almost top-30 on airplay.

"He Went To Jared" is great, I'm surprised they'd waste the potential of that one just throwing it out randomly. I could see that one being a big hit if properly pushed.

Not a waste at all: if the early reception to it is great, it might be an incentive them to release it as a single. Releasing songs early for streaming purposes is the new future. We're all just gonna have to get used to artists dropping a bunch of random songs before the full record. As for "Rednecker," I hope that it's about run its course. The song is awful and even though it's been selling well for most of its run, its obvious at this point that country radio isn't a big fan. It's time for attempt #2 imo or he could just stick to writing.

Rhett 1 26 His collab album is awesome imo. Hardy is a pretty solid songwriter and it shows on this one. My favorites have to be “Boy From The South”, “Nothin’ Out Here” and “Something a lil Stronger”. I read that this collection is effectively his first album as well.

This one went recurrent tonight on Country Airplay. I think that the lyric “I piss where I want to” was just a little too much...🥴

I could see "Nothin’ Out Here”, “No Place Like Hometown”, or "One Beer" doing well as singles if they release any. My personal favorites are "My Kinda Livin" and "Redneck Tendencies".

"All She Left Was Me" HAS to be a single at some point, right...?

I think "All She Left Was Me" or "Signed, Sober You" are both potential radio hits. I didn't mind Rednecker, but I would have never gone with that as a lead single.

“Rednecker” has technically been without a bullet the past three weeks on Mediabase (lost 50 spins and 600k in audience this week), so it should be sent recurrent this afternoon. Peak was #23.

So basically early radio enthusiasm gave this a fast start but those goddamn callout scores that we love to hate stopped it in the 20s. I don't like this song either, but it proves a point about callout scores. I feel bad for my older brother, though. He likes this song and won't have much to enjoy on the radio without it. We always leave it on for him.
