Has anybody lost a #1 yet? I don't remember that happening. you are correct, no one has yet lost their #1. That may be changing sooner than later though...or I could be lying lol

I didn’t expect to be the lowest ranker for this one. I actually like it, but this was a really good year.

You've picked up the pace so now I have to play catch up lol!
“Someone You Used to Know” (#58) - This is a really solid song and I’ve always thought it suited Collin’s style very well; I also especially enjoy the chorus.
“Meanwhile” (#57) - I lose a top 10 here which isn’t surprising considering it’s one of George’s most overlooked and underrated singles. I’ve always enjoyed this song and George just really sounds great on this ballad. Every time it gets near the end of the song and I hear the line I try and I try, the Lord knows I do But each time my heart beats back to you I can feel the pain and it gives me heart palpitations lol.
“What Do You Say to That” (#56) - I thought this would’ve been out before “Meanwhile” and TBH I don’t quite enjoy this song as much as I did back when the album first came out. In fact, this was probably one of my favorite songs off of Always Never the Same back then and I was thrilled when I heard it was not only going to be the third single but that George was singing it at the CMA Awards that year which he did in a fine looking tux sans the guitar!).
“Can’t Get Enough” (#55) - This song is so unlike the rest of Patty’s discography and doesn’t necessarily stand out in a good way. This is certainly better than say “That’s the Kind of Mood I’m In” but I tend to lump those songs together down near my least favorites since stylistically they’re similar.
“I Love You” (#54) - While I enjoyed this for what it was back during its run on radio it hasn’t necessarily aged all that well for me. I honestly can’t stand the vocal arrangement on this one as the UPS and downs are just too pronounced and overdone and it now comes across as quite schoolgirlish.
“She’s In Love” (#53) - This is one of Mark’s finest songs he’s ever released…I’ve always loved this one! He really had a great run of solid releases back during this time.
“Busy Man” (#49) - Glad to see this make the top 50 because it’s certainly one of my top 5 favorite songs by Billy Ray and it’s another song with a great chorus.
“Hands of a Working Man” (#47) - I can’t remember the last time I had heard this song prior to this rankdown and it was one of my favorites to revisit. Very solid song that I remember enjoying a lot back when it would come on the radio.
“You Won’t Ever Be Lonely” (#45) - This is another song that I was glad to get to revisit and it’s one of my favorite songs by him along with “If Heaven”. I feel like he pretty much all but disappeared and haven’t really kept up with him since the mid 2000’s.

Glad to see Blackhawk make it this far..."There You Have It" is a fun song and one I always find myself singing along to. They've always been one of my favorite country groups from the mid/late 90's and I remember getting to see them live in 1995 when they opened for Little Texas and Tim McGraw.

Wow! Unexpected perfect ranking for Deana! It's been growing on me ever since her rankdown happened several months ago.

Another one gone too soon! This is one of Randy's best. I hope his last remaining song in this goes a bit further yet.

Even as a fan of Reba's I couldn't rank "One Honest Heart" any higher as I find the entire If You See Him era as a whole to be one of my least favorites of her's from the 90's. Considering some of the songs that left before this I think it overstayed its time.

"Amazed" is SO good! I understand people hate it because it was overplayed (and of course it's cheesy just because it's a love ballad...), but I have always loved the way Lonestar sounds here I'm surprised yet happy that it managed to do so well here, because it was always bound to be polarizing.

I used to LOVE this song as a kid and I do still like it but it has been so overplayed for me that I still get annoyed hearing it. Also I am very surprised that it did this well, I thought it would have left a lot sooner than now.

"Amazed" is a damn classic. I'm glad it at least made the top 40.

and there we have the first #1 loss of the rankdown, as gardyfan becomes the first person to see their #1 get eliminated! George Strait Junkie also loses their #2! While sabre14 and myself lose our first Top 10's! This song deserved better. Happy it made it this far because I didn't expect it to do this well but I had hoped it would do a little better!

Deserved way better. It wasn't even a finished product but George cut it right before his accident and it was sent to radio shortly after.

I like this song, but I’m really surprised at how long it lasted.
