Currently I am inputting list in and calculating the results. Once I get that done I will begin making the graphics. I'm shooting to begin results tonight but I may have to wait until tomorrow night, depends how much I'm able to get done today. For now until I can begin here are some questions for everyone to answer:
What Song will be #1? What songs will make up the Top 5?
What song will be #132? What songs will make up the Bottom 5?
What artist will be eliminated first? Which artist with multiple songs will be the last to be down to 1 song remaining? Which older act will do better/worst? (T. Graham Brown, Kenny Rogers, George Jones) Which female trio will do better? (SHeDAISY, Dixie Chicks) Which #1 from 1999 will be out first? out last? (the songs in the graphic above are the #1's)
Any other thoughts/comments?RECEIVED: George Strait JunkietimtoomuchboyKanenrá:kesabre14 someguyClevelandRoxaustingardyfan bboat11CoJoFan.indulgecountrykw9461LBTrocks Cody Wants Out...

What Song will be #1? Maybe one of the Shania songs. I would like to think "No Place That Far," "Breathe," and "Please Remember Me" are at least contenders. Hopefully not Messina. What songs will make up the Top 5?See above. What song will be #132? "When Mama Ain't Happy"? What songs will make up the Bottom 5? "When Mama Ain't Happy," "She Wants to Rock." I'm not as sure about the bottom. What artist will be eliminated first? Tracy Byrd. Which artist with multiple songs will be the last to be down to 1 song remaining? Shania. Which older act will do better/worst? (T. Graham Brown, Kenny Rogers, George Jones)I think Jones will do the best this time. I could see Brown ranking higher than Rogers, but not as sure there. Which female trio will do better? (SHeDAISY, Dixie Chicks)Dixie Chicks. Which #1 from 1999 will be out first? out last? (the songs in the graphic above are the #1's)"Right On the Money" or the "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" cover for first out. I have no idea what will be last standing among several of those others. So many of them are really great songs.

What Song will be #1? Hoping for "No Place That Far" but I could see "I'll Think of a Reason Later" or "Write This Down" as possible #1 contenders as well. What songs will make up the Top 5? The three I listed above, plus maybe "He Didn't Have to Be" and "You Were Mine." Idk. This is a tough year.
What song will be #132? "The Greatest" What songs will make up the Bottom 5? "The Greatest" + Garth Brooks, at least one Steve Wariner song, maybe Chad Brock, "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You"
What artist will be eliminated first? Kenny Rogers Which artist with multiple songs will be the last to be down to 1 song remaining? Sara Evans, Lee Ann Womack, or George Strait based on my #1 guess. Which older act will do better/worst? (T. Graham Brown, Kenny Rogers, George Jones) Kenny Rogers for sure. Which female trio will do better? (SHeDAISY, Dixie Chicks) Dixie Chicks! Which #1 from 1999 will be out first? out last? (the songs in the graphic above are the #1's) Out first: "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" | Out last: NPTF or WTD

I didn't get this one in....but I surely would have skewed some of your choices...All of Shania's stuff would be on the bottom of my list. The only artist ranking worse in my musical world is Taylor Swift...
This would have been my top 10 (give or take, sometimes I'm not sure until I submit):
Write This Down - George Strait Amazed - Lonestar I'll Think of A Reason Later - Lee Ann Womack How Forever Feels - Kenny Chesney Breathe - Faith Hill Ready To Run - Dixie Chicks South of Santa Fe - Brooks & Dunn Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Dwight Yoakam Tonight The Heartache's On Me - Dixie Chicks He Didn't Have To Be - Brad Paisley

actually I need to head to bed so I will begin this tomorrow night finally, I'll reveal the bottom 7 tomorrow night, possibly more than that. Even better because I totally forgot to come back around and post my predictions! What Song will be #1? I’m going to say that “I’ll Think of a Reason Later” will be the winner What songs will make up the Top 5? “I’ll Think of a Reason Later”, “No Place That Far”, “Write This Down”, “Breathe” and one Dixie Chicks song such as “Ready to Run” or “You Were Mine” What song will be #132? Maybe something like “The Greatest” although it isn’t deserving of being out so soon What songs will make up the Bottom 5? I think this will actually consist of more obscure songs or artists such as “Say Anything” by Shane McAnally but I could also see songs like “The Greatest”, “God Must’ve Spent a Little More Time On You”, “It Don’t Matter to the Sun”, “Two Teardrops”, When Mama Ain’t Happy”, or Vince Gill’s “My Kind of Woman / My Kind of Man” and “Don’t Come Cryin’ to Me” What artist will be eliminated first? Tracy Byrd or Garth Brooks Which artist with multiple songs will be the last to be down to 1 song remaining? Lee Ann Womack, Sara Evans, or George Strait Which older act will do better/worst? (T. Graham Brown, Kenny Rogers, George Jones) George Jones / Kenny Rogers Which female trio will do better? (SHeDAISY, Dixie Chicks) Dixie Chicks Which #1 from 1999 will be out first? out last? (the songs in the graphic above are the #1's) First - “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” / Last - “No Place That Far” or “Write This Down” Any other thoughts/comments? I’m anxious to see how this place out between songs such as “I’ll Think of a Reason Later” and “No Place That Far” along with the Dixie Chicks songs in the mix...I think the top 5 is going to be stacked and is going to be a nail-biter

Kicking things off we see Bryan White lose his only song this year with "God Gave Me You". I used to love this song but I hadn't listened to it since around when it first came out and I did not enjoy it anymore at all. In fact it is the ONLY song from this year I found almost unlistenable so I definitely think this is the only correct choice for last place. Obviously only 1 person agreed with me in putting it as their last place but enough had it low that it was basically in last for almost the entire submission period.
Up next will see another artist with only 1 song leave us!
Also, I am only doing 2 reveals tonight. Had some personal stuff come up today so I may not be able to post reveals every night but will try my best to do so. The other 2 rankdowns I have that are open for submissions are currently on hold (still will accept list but there is no due date as of right now on either of them (Suzy Bogguss and Gretchen Peters). Thanks for understanding!

Oh wow, I didn't peg that as a last-place contender, but I am totally fine with this! Bryan White's only noteworthy achievement was being the lucky duet partner on that one Shania Twain song.

I will say that I do feel like Bryan White's music got worse over time but his first 3 albums had some decent songs on them. I also do agree that the Shania Twain duet was good (in fact I prefer the duet version to the lackluster solo version).

Oh wow, I am surprised the Garth Gaines song wasn't more of a last-place contender!

“God Gave Me You” actually crossed my mind as being a bottom 5 contender and I’m quite alright seeing it bow out first. Bryan White had some great material early on with his first couple of albums but his sound and voice overall seemed to not be as strong in the late 90’s.
And yes I’ve always liked “It Don’t Matter to the Sun” especially from a lyrical standpoint, but I knew it being a Chris Gaines aka Garth Brooks song it was doomed from the start.

Agree with castleoblivion26 that it’s nearly unlistenable.

Alabama’s “God Must Have Spent a Little More Time On You” was just one of many bad covers from pop songs that didn’t need a country remake. I can only think that at the time the labels thought this was a great idea and looking back this is what probably lead country music to have somewhat of an identity crisis as it entered the new millennium.

I need to try and post earlier tomorrow night lol Gonna end here tonight. Tomorrow night we will see the first artist with more than 1 song be eliminated completely, which only gives two options: Alabama or The Warren Brothers! Who will it be?

If there was a soundtrack to my bad childhood memories from those elementary school days, “God Must Have Spent a Little More Time On You” would be the first song played.
Didn’t need to be remade for country (it’s a terrible song anyway) and by Alabama no less; it was a desperate attempt to keep their radio relevancy afloat.

Definitely The Warren Brothers. Alabama won’t do too great either, but “Keepin’ Up” isn’t anywhere close to as bad as “God Must Have Spent”, so it deserves to set a little more distance between them before it leaves.

The only thing these guys were ever good for was the song they did with Sara Evans.
