Gonna try and post more tonight!
While I love the other two songs in this from Collin Raye, "Start Over Georgia" was a definite step down and belongs at the bottom of this list. Think "The Eleventh Commandment" would have been a better single (it did have a video though).
I enjoy "Ordinary Love" but it isn't a favorite so I'm alright with it going here.

I wish I liked “Start Over Georgia” more but the song just has never clicked with me and after giving it another couple of listens for this rankdown it still couldn’t hold my attention for long so therefore I had to push the song back down towards the bottom of my list.
I can’t recall ever seeing the video for “Ordinary Love” and I’m glad I hadn’t because that’s one weird video...as for the song it’s nothing special but I remember enjoying it well enough back then.
My ranking for “Hello L.O.V.E.” was probably a bit harsh because I do find myself tapping my toe and bopping my head along with it. In context of John Michael’s overall discography, though, this song falls a bit flat and therefore I ended up ranking this lower than I would normally.

The Mavericks always underperform in these rankdowns and disappointingly so. “Here Comes My Baby” is such an ear worm and I just can’t help but want to get up and start clapping along with it. Not sure what it is about this band that Pulse doesn’t like.

“When Mama Ain’t Happy” is definitely a rather underwhelming song given Tracy’s overall discography. I also remember being disappointed that this was the song they included on his first Greatest Hits compilation and released as a single. This reveal does give me the chance to remind everyone that my Tracy Byrd rankdown is due July 28th (shameless plug ).

I too was underwhelmed upon the first few listens, but after a while, "When Mama Ain't Happy" actually grew on me in a pretty big way. I understand why it wasn't a hit, though. Hoping to wrap up my Tracy Byrd list by the end of the week once I conquer a big number of albums RDs tim.

Oh wow, "Say Anything" was excellent. One of my favorite discoveries from this rankdown. Deserved waaaay better here.

Some of these videos from 1999 really make me cringe and “Say Anything” is certainly one of them lol! I expected this to be out early if only because it’s not that recognizable of a song even for those of us that were listening to country radio growing up at this time.
“Her” is another song I expected would be out early and while it isn’t a bad song it just kind of gets lost in the shuffle amongst the other songs of the year.
Lyrically “Wine Into Water” is a great song and it’s one that I can for sure connect with on a personal level, but while I appreciate T. Graham Brown’s effort the song falls short due to its production and maybe could’ve been a bigger hit from a more mainstream artist.

“Are Your Eyes Still Blue” is 100 times better than “Say Anything.”

Graham, I'm glad he was the one to sing it, but agree that he would've been served better with better production. Still a great song though, and one that made its mark, even if it wasn't a big chart hit. Hoped it could've stuck around a little longer Not really surprised by anything else out tonight; Aaron Tippin's other 99 outputs were stellar, but "Her" was just okay. I'm a big Michael Peterson fan, but I never expected that song to do well. I imagine his other songs are probably on borrowed time too.

Yea I didn't mean to take away from any personal significance the song has for T. Graham and I do remember there being a lot of praise for him around that time for releasing a song like that, I was just thinking out loud how the song might've been better received especially now years later had it been given the production the song so deserved. Of course the song still lives on as Loretta Lynn covered it on her Full Circle album.

Steve Wariner is yet another underrated artist by Pulse standards that always underperforms in these YE rankdowns. I guess I'm a sucker for these simple kind of songs with great lyrics that really pull me in and get my full attention.

castleoblivion26 I think you might've copy and pasted the wrong rankings into "Slave to the Habit" Even for a minor Top 20 hit I remember hearing this song on the radio quite a bit that year but it's always just been kind of "there" for me and I neither like or dislike it really.

I actually forgot to paste the rankings all together lol, the rankings were from the previous song. It is fixed!

I'll try and get us to the Top 110 tomorrow night! Gonna leave it here for now. Before we get to the Top 110 someone will become the first person to lose a Top 15! Also we will see the first female artist to lose a song!

My mom was a huge Neal McCoy fan back in the day and because of her I found myself listening to him quite a bit as well. I always enjoyed "I Was" and found it be to be an enjoyable listen back then and still do to this day. Considering this was only a top 40 hit it seems about right for it to leave now.
