That melody on here is so great, totally see why you love it .indulgecountry! It's my #6, so while there are songs lower that I'd prefer to see out first I kinda can see why this one maybe didn't inspire as much passion. (Guess that's why It's in the middle for me ) Surprised my #11 wasn't in the bottom 3. Thought for sure it'd be in the position this last reveal was tbh.

The melody, coupled with all that gorgeous dobro, and a really powerful vocal from Sara, this has always been far and away my favorite track on the album. I was a bit disappointed to see it come in with so many low ranks, even though I never expected it to do all that well either given how stacked the album is.

"You Never Know," which borrows on the dark plucked-stringed arrangement production of the title track, is the next departure from Slow Me Down. Clocking in just a few points ahead of our last reveal, and just 1 point shy of the song that came in just ahead of it, this area of the rankdown was pretty tumultuous over the course of the submission process, with a lot of shuffling. This track is a pretty unique one for Sara's catalog with the way it is produced and the way she sings it, which likely led to a divisiveness over where to place it in the context of the album. Some loved it -- which brings about our first loss of multiple #1s as both someguy and LBTrocks are the latest casualties -- and some didn't, given the three last place ranks. "It can go in the middle of the night If you'd have known you'd have screamed, you'd have put up a fight End up alone but at least you're right You never know the way love goes"

Noooooooooo wtf! “You Never Know” is hands down the best on the album! This is upsetting. Melodically this song is just heavenly and so is Sara’s delivery.

I expected to see “Not Over You” out somewhere near the bottom 2 as it was my least favorite duet on the album. I don’t dislike the song but it’s a bit busy for my ears as there’s a lot going on in the production. Both surprised by and disappointed in the lack of support that “Good Love Is Hard to Find” received…and what’s with that last place ranking bboat11 ?! This was an instant standout for me and I loved it more and more with each listen. I liked “You Never Know” well enough but it ended up falling somewhere near the middle of the pack for me. This is yet another song though that I find to be yet a bit overproduced.

"Not Over You" is a fantastic song, and I have come to love Sara's version a lot. However, this song really is insanely overproduced, and the arrangement is WAY too busy. The first time I heard this, I thought the second half was nothing but an unnecessary wall of sound. It has since grown on me to the point where I love it, but I am definitely not surprised to see it in the bottom 2.
"Good Love Is Hard To Find" – This song was SOOOOO hard for me to place! I love everything about it...but then, I also love everything about every song on this album :'( The thing about this album is, almost every song has something unique that makes it stand out, whereas this song is just a nice, straightforward country song. I would still put it ahead of several songs on any of her other albums, but this album simply does not have any filler :(
"You Never Know" has the coolest instrumental arrangement, possibly of her entire career! The way the pizzicato strings interact with the electric guitar in that haunting intro is just plain brilliant. Plus Sara's vocals here are so powerful, and downright ethereal. I am a bit disappointed to see this couldn't do any better than this! But also not really surprised.

Keeping things rolling, we see "Sweet Spot" as the next album cut from Slow Me Down to be shown the way out of this rankdown. It edged out "You Never Know" by a mere 1-point margin to come in seventh place here. One of the most charismatic and breezy uptempos on an album laden with them, this toe-tapping love jam with an infectious whistled production hook and a playful and strong voice performance from Sara Evans on its catchy chorus captured the heart of Wavey✨️ who is the next poster to lose his #1 rank. Despite a handful of additional tops 5, it was drug down by three last place placements, and the majority landed this one in the 6-9 range, so logically this finish for the song seems pretty appropriate and expected. "Gotta be honest, we're on to something here I got a feelin', I'm feelin' oh so clear It's not the weather, it's not the atmosphere It's you that's got me grinnin' from ear to ear"

The final song to miss out on the top 5 for the Slow Me Down rankdown is the second of three features included on the album, this time being the full-fledged duet with The Fray vocalist Isaac Slade on "Can't Stop Loving You." Originally slated to be the second single from the record, its release was confusingly pushed back several times and then ultimately cancelled with no formal explanation, only for "Put My Heart Down" to finally materialize as the actual follow-up to the title track many months later (only for it to flop, anyway). An explosive pop-leaning number with a big belted chorus, many participants drew a line in the sand with this one, with it receiving both significant fanfare and distaste, including a #1 ranking from DistrictTwelve and several bottom 2s. It pulled away just enough in the end from the pack that landed in #s 7-9, despite being as low as #10 earlier on in the submission phase, but it finished nearly ten points back from making the top 5, which is a pretty sizable gap in a rankdown like this. "I try to crush it like the ashes of a cigarette I try to smother out the embers but I just can't quit If there's a way to put it out, I haven't found it yet Haven't found it yet"

Pleasantly surprised with Sweet Spots performance. I somewhat expected it to be in last place. Sad to lose Can’t Stop Lovin You but still, this is a PERFECT top 5!

An INCREDIBLE Top 5!! I feel like Slow Me Down is gonna win, although I'm hoping and praying that Revival takes this! (Won't be mad at any of these winning, really)

We'd be Better Off if a certain song was out by now. Otherwise, great Top 5.

I initially had “Sweet Spot” a bit higher on my list but I found I didn’t like the song as much on each subsequent listen and by the time I was on my final edit this found its way in last place. I think in the end I found the ooh, ooh-ooh ooh-ooh ooh-ooh’s to be a tad bit annoying.
“Can’t Stop Loving You” was such a hard song to rank because I really do enjoy it and I honestly thought it might be a top 5 contender. Even still I thought that this would likely be the second duet to leave.
Other than the title track “Slow Me Down” being the likely winner I really have no idea how the top 5 will shape up. I do really hope that “Better Off” finds its way into the top 3 but I think it might just miss it. Anyways here’s my predictions:
5. Revival 4. Better Off 3. If I Run 2. Put My Heart Down 1. Slow Me Down

"Sweet Spot" is such an infectiously catchy bop!! That whistling melody adds such a distinctive summery personality to the song, and of course Sara sounds as good as ever. I always thought this one would make a good single. "Can't Stop Loving You" is another amazing song! It is too bad that the details never worked out for this to become a single, because this is one of the more radio-ready songs on the album. The way Sara's voice sounds like warm butter as it descends to those low notes in the verses is one of my favorite vocals on the album. I also obviously love the way she explosively launches into the chorus Definitely should have made the top 5! Now, here's my predictions: 5. If I Run 4. Better Off 3. Revival 2. Put My Heart Down 1. Slow Me Down

Sweet Spot was absolutely robbed. I forgot to mention that. It stands out so much on this album because its really the one pure fun bop here (Not a bad thing -- I love this album).
Prediction: 5 Better Off 4 If I Run 3 Revival 2 Slow Me Down 1 Put My Heart Down

"If I Run" is the first top 5 casualty of the Slow Me Down rankdown. This song was no slouch, as it consistently landed in the middle of the pack for the first half of the submission period, only to eventually creep up and manage to land at #5 and put some distance between it and our last song in order to stay there, and even came within 4 points of climbing to #4. Like our last reveal, this is another song with a truly explosive chorus, with Sara belting out about her insecurities in a newfound relationship, revealing that she needs a man who will chase after her if she has a moment of weakness. It's a cute song that she sings the fire out of, and while it garnered no #1 votes, it also received not a single last place rank, either. However, it did receive a runner-up rank from taylor though and seven additional top 5s. "You know they say that your first heartbreak Can forever change the way you see love But ask anyone who's had it broken more than once They'll say it's twice as hard to get your heart to trust"

Clocking in at just above the last song, "Revival" once flirted with being the final album cut standing early on, but it ultimately fell short to "Better Off" (which still remains in the running against the two singles). It got as high as #2 at one point, but it was short-lived. That said, it was a strong contender in this rankdown and received #1s from both taylor and Troublemaker, though it also received last place ranks courtesy of SHOOTER and Zeebz, proving it to be just a touch polarizing. More ranks than not fell in the top half, however. It is one of the album's most uptempo tracks with a toe-tapping beat and sing-songy chorus and lyrics that touch on the power of change through historical examples and a message of hope that the common man or woman has a voice in this world. It is the second example of Sara covering a song originally by Radney Foster, following her hit single "A Real Fine Place to Start" from 2005. "Look at that boy in the river, Soaking wet with faith Look at that girl on the courthouse steps Saying things gotta change There's that woman on the corner, Handing out coffee and the word She's listening to those working girls The ones that never get heard"

Yeah, no, the whole album's flawless so I liked this one, too, but it just stuck out like a sore thumb thematically and didn't compel repeat listens out of me like the others.

austin at this point you should probably just start assuming that if you listen to an album and hate one of the album tracks, it is probably everybody else's favorite album track Between "I Ain't Gonna Take It Anymore" and now "Better Off", you're really on a roll lately!
