This is the clear standout track on the album IMO. Delighted that this will be a single and can’t wait to hear it on the radio.

I ended up loving "Take It From Me" but he's back to awful for me with this one. Way too bro sounding in the music and production for me.

Great choice, this is the best song he’s done yet. Think this should be another hit for him.

Huge huge fan of this song. This album is very underrated, but this and Goin’ Round were the two stand outs to me. I think the production fits the song, and it is so nostalgic. I could see this being the song that really breaks him through the group of new male artists that are having radio success.

This, Going Round, Leaving New Orleans were all my favorites to be the next single. Easily one of my top 10 albums of last year.

So happy they went with this one! I was sure it was going to be "Going 'Round" because that song is a jam and a half and really fits in nice with today's country radio. But "Slow Dance" is my favorite song on the Home State album which I absolutely adore. This is a great song and bonus points for the two-step Garth Brooks reference of not only name dropping Garth, but also referencing "She's Every Woman".

I like this choice a lot. Should definitely resonate with the younger country fans. Say what you will about his last 2 singles and how they were painfully long climbs, but in general I thought his entire debut was great. It’s such an easy listen from top to bottom. The album tracks toward the end of Home State are great. Plus, in my eyes, it’s huge when an artist is actually an artist and has a writing credit on every song.

So, until recently, Strait wasn’t an artist?

Don't a lot of artists have writing credits on every song? And having a credit doesn't mean you did much work on it.

You have to be snowflake millennials, right? Yes, I believe, IN MY OWN OPINION THAT DID NOT AFFECT YOU, that being a singer-songwriter is more talented than just singing songs other people wrote. And I never said anything about Strait? You saying Strait isn’t an artist is your own words, or words you somehow put in my mouth. You brought that name into a conversation that wasn’t even about you or him.

Not sure why you think that someone having a different opinion than you makes them, "offended," and a, "snowflake." If they would have said first, "I don't really care if artists have any hand in writing their songs," and you would have replied, "I like artists who do write their own music. It makes the music more personal," I wouldn't think you're a snowflake or offended. Just a difference of opinion.

It’s the fact that something completely irrelevant to what I innconcently said was completely twisted and words were put in my mouth. I never once said anything about Srait, or artists who don’t write their songs. I just said that I appreciate artists that do write their songs. If you can quote me saying I think Strait isn’t an artist, or I if you can quote my saying people that don’t write their own songs aren’t artists, go right ahead. I’ll save you some time and tell you that you won’t be able to find that quote. In summary, all I said was that I like the song, I like the album, and I like the fact that he has a writing credit on every song. And somehow Strait got involved. Straying from the topic was not me.

Your statement "Plus, in my eyes, it’s huge when an artist is actually an artist and has a writing credit on every song", implied Strait wasn't an artist, as he didn't write any of his material for decades. No words were put in your mouth. "An artist is actually an artist and", means something will likely follow as to what makes someone an artist. And that was, having a writing credit on every song. And you didn't say "write their songs", you said had a writing credit. You don't need to put in that much work to actually get a writing credit. And having a writing credit doesn't make you inherently more talented. Especially since you can you know, suck at writing songs.

Damn, this guy can grow a beard. Song is okay, I liked his other two better. I prefer Parking Lot Party and Wal-Mart Parking Lot better.

The iHeart station in the Twin Cities is already on this and giving it at least one day time spin. I heard this during afternoon drive yesterday and I was giddy.

The video is fantastic. I hope Jordan gets some award recognition for it, it is that good.

Easily his best single. Didn't really care for "Take It from Me" and "Singles You Up," but this one is worth leaving on when it comes on the radio. The video was well done and a cute story as well.
