And just like that two of my top five were taken out back-to-back...ouch! I can’t even quite put my finger on what draws me into “My Wish” or why I happen to consider it one of my favorites by them, but I think some of it can be attributed to Jeffrey Steal’s style of songwriting as I find that I enjoy most if not all of his songs.
And speaking of Jeffrey Steal co-writes, it’s “These Days” for the win!

The final album track time! 3 songs received mentions from all 3 posters who submitted album tracks - "My Worst Fear", "Oklahoma-Texas Line", and "Backwards". "Backwards" is a song my friend who was pretty big on Rascal Flatts used to mention, so I personally have some attachment to it. "Long Slow Beautiful Dance" (Rascal Flatts)
"Backwards" (Me and My Gang)
"Ellsworth" (Me and My Gang)
"Oklahoma-Texas Line" (Feels Like Today)
"My Worst Fear" (Melt)

Grandma burned the biscuits... nearly took the house down with it. I really like Ellsworth but this line kills me. 😂
Backwards definitely should've been the second single over Me and My Gang. Oklahoma/Texas Line got a lot of airplay in Dallas and it sounded great!

Oh good that can go. SO overplayed. Decent at first.... now it jut sounds like a cheesy mess on the radio. Couldn't agree more. I tried to rank it objectively, but this is probably their most over-played song.

Damn I discovered this RD waaaay too late. "Why" would've easily been my #1 easily due to being one of the songs I listened to most during my darkest days as well as being played at a friend of mine's funeral after his suicide. Glad it at least made top 20

"Stand" stands out like a sore thumb in this top 5. I'm guessing no tankers is why. Middle of the road usually does well in these artist rankdowns.
"Prayin' for Daylight" or "These Days" for the win.

"Ellsworth" is their best album cut. Rooting for one of the Melt hits or their signature "What Hurts the Most." "Stand" and "Prayin' for Daylight" are okay, but I'll be a touch disappointed to see either of those win.

Love this top 5! I could literally see any of them winning except for "Stand" (I was not at all surprised to see it in the top 5, but apparently it has more haters than I would have ever expected, so NOW I'm surprised... Lmao) I think it'll go: 5) Stand 4) Mayberry 3) Prayin' For Daylight 2) What Hurts The Most 1) These Days

As long as "What Hurts The Most" doesn't win I'll be happy. That song is fine, and I know it was a big hit, but they were at their best on their first 2 albums.

lol YAS @ me being right that this TRASH song is out lol "Bless The Broken Road" sux. So, one of my fav bands Emerson Drive said they wanted to record this but it got sent to RF instead and I'm thrilled they didn't cuz even if THEY did it, I'd hate it. Terrible song. I totally agree. Yes, it's made far worse by Gary's nauseating vocals and fart face in the video, but the song itself is HORRENDOUS with terrible lyrics and a boring as hell melody.

"Ellsworth" should have been a single instead of the title track.

The Me and My Gang album had like *at least 5* other songs on it (Ellsworth, Backwards, Words I Couldn't Say, I Feel Bad, To Make Her Love Me being the most obvious ones) that would've been infinitely better single options than the title cut.

"Stand" stands out like a sore thumb in this top 5. I'm guessing no tankers is why. Middle of the road usually does well in these artist rankdowns. We shall get rid of it then! It's the end of the road for "Stand" (damn I should've used this for "Bless the Broken Road" - missed opportunity) at #5. Like sabre14 mentioned, the lack of tankers here helped carry the song all the way to the top 5 as well as a slew of top 15 ranks led by castleoblivion26 and my #2 ranks. It had the ninth lowest standard deviation in the game - which also shows that this song proved to be more middle of the road than polarizing. "What Hurts the Most" is the only song left from Me and My Gang that has yet to be revealed. It's one of my personal favorites from Rascal Flatts so I'm very pleased that this made it into the top 5! #5: "Stand" Album: Me and My Gang
Points: 524 (15 points ahead of "My Wish", 46 points behind #4) Standard Deviation: 7.955 Country Radio Peak (Billboard): #1 (1 week)
Ranks: Movement: 2 4 4 5 8 8 8 6 5 5 5 6 7 7 6 6 5 5

"Stand" is actually a really good song. I haven't heard it in a long time, but did like hit when it was current.

By the way, "Stand" was the last song NOT to have a #1 rank from anyone! #4 eliminates one more #1 rank. The top 4 ran away with this rankdown, as the gap between #4 and #1 are exactly the same as the gap between #5 and #4 at 46 points.
EDIT: Also wtf is that ugly ass thumbnail for the "Stand" video?

My condolences sabre14... "Prayin' for Daylight" is the next song to bite the bullet in the last set of reveals - it actually didn't receive any ranks below #21... Had .indulgecountry ranked the song 1 spot higher everyone would've had this song in their top half; this song has the second lowest deviation of the game after "Bob That Head" which everyone HATED. While I mentioned that the top 4 ran away, once this song reached #4, it was stationary in that position throughout the rest of the submission process. It was actually the top 3 that kept flip flopping at #1. In the end, it missed the top 3 by a mere 6 points!! #4: "Prayin' for Daylight" Album: Rascal Flatts
Points: 570 (46 points ahead of "Stand", 6 points behind #3) Standard Deviation: 5.931 (2nd lowest) Country Radio Peak (Billboard): #3
Ranks: Movement: 13 7 9 6 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4

Up next... we are about to eliminate SEVEN #1 ranks, the most of any song in this rankdown!

I can't see "These Days" not winning this, and I doubt that "What Hurts The Most" would gather seven #1s, and I could see "Mayberry" being liked well enough to be the song with the most #1s. That's my reasoning lol

The song that received seven #1s (out of 18 participants) is "These Days", which is eliminated here right before the top 2, which leaves "Mayberry" and "What Hurts the Most" for the final battle. While this song raked in seven #1s, this song had more ranks towards the bottom than the top 2 did, which contributed greatly to the #3 finish (For reference, "Mayberry" and "What Hurts the Most" combined have five #1 ranks). It was always a contender for the #1 spot, popping into that spot on three different occasions, but once it slipped off for the third time, it got stuck at #3 and could not recover. #3: "These Days" Album: Melt
Points: 576 (6 points ahead of "Prayin' for Daylight", 21 points behind #2) Standard Deviation: 10.290 Country Radio Peak (Billboard): #1 (3 weeks)
Ranks: Movement: 7 1 1 3 3 3 2 1 2 2 1 3 3 3 3 3 3 3

Well for those of you who ranked "These Days" at #1... you know who tanked your favorite!
Anyways, it's "Mayberry" vs. "What Hurts the Most" for the #1 spot! Only 19 points separate the two - which song will take it all?

I'm thrilled "These Days" is out here but I'm also shocked as hell lol. I was 100% certain this was going to win. The chorus is fine but the song is definitely overrated..
Pretty damn amazing top 2! "Mayberry" ftw tho!
