It's reassuring to see this one pulling back ahead of D+S. I was worried when I saw they'd made the pass because I knew if they got to #1 before Lady A, it would be game over for them seeing as "10,000 Hours" might sit at the top for a good 3-4 weeks. I really want to see Lady A get another #1 here with this incredible return to form for them. They deserve it, and they might not get many more chances to have another #1 hit, given that they haven't had a smash second single in like 8 years and that their momentum at country radio is starting to fade.

UMG is pushing Pardi after Lady A the following week â Warner Music Nashville would like to hold off and keep Dan + Shayâs in top 3-4 rotation for a few weeks (they could spent multiple weeks atop Billboard). â10,000 Hoursâ is by far the youngest single here, itâs testing well and selling terrific. Dustinâs, unfortunately (because I think the song is awful), is testing great with the lowest negative score on MB callout. Corporate radio doesnât have a problem with keeping Dustinâs in high rotation and if it wasnât for Combsâ huge hit, âRidinâ Roadsâ wouldâve had multiple weeks atop Billboard.
I still think Lady A has a shot at the #1 on Billboard Country Airplay but the audience levels are all pretty close right now between the songs mentioned.

This song has one of the best building bridges I have heard in a while. You can literally feel the tension when they go back and forth with "What if this lasts forever and ever?" I got chills the first time I heard that. The song isn't so much of a story as it the way to convey an emotion, and they do that to perfection.

Sounds like Lady A will get the Billboard#1 and Jon will get split chart, snatching a Mediabase-only #1 while Dan and Shay grab their first week at the top on Billboard. Hopefully Warner does a double own and blocks Magic Mikeâs Kinfolks as well. Universal ainât the big dog anymore. Amazing.

I must say, I am impressed by the way Big Machine has handled this ever since it reached the top 10. They managed to keep it ahead of the monster â10,000 Hoursâ and look to be giving it a big push this week to get the Billboard #1. It would be great if this could be their 10th #1 single, because it absolutely deserves it.

For Big Machine to keep this ahead of the throne-hogger that will be "10,000 Hours" so that at least one week can be given to Lady A is remarkably impressive considering Dan + Shay's momentum and the fact that Lady A is unfortunately waning at country radio. I'm ecstatic to see if this finally claims that coveted #1 after so long! Hoping on everything

This leaped ahead of "10,000 Hours" on Country Airplay this week too, which is definitely a good sign moving into the push week. Here's to hoping that Lady A can stay ahead of Dan + Shay!!

#1 at MediaBase. If this should top Billboard, Lady Antebellum would be the first artist with #1s in the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s:

That would've been pretty cool. Still close enough though that it's fun to note that a decade ago they were ruling with their massive career smash "Need You Now," and now here they are.

I'm aware, but it was already #1 in the 2010s first, so that would've been a little different. People had been talking about how Dustin Lynch was the first new #1 of the decade. Let's not get hung up on semantics, lol. Either way, they were really close to being bookends for the 2010s decade on either side.

Lady A means business. The biggest spin increase in the top 50:

Here's some decade stats from Nielsen: - They are #8 best-selling album artist of the 2010s, not too far behind Luke Bryan and Drake - "Need You Now" the song is the #5 most-played radio song of the decade, also #3 of the decade at Adult Contemporary (keep in mind that it was released in August of 2009) - Need You Now (album) is the #9 best-selling album of the decade It's important to note that probably 75% of these statistics can be attributed to the success of "Need You Now", but it's still very impressive and it makes me proud to be their fan (or "stan", if you will lol). This doesn't have anything to do with the statistics above, but I think it's quite interesting that while quite a few country groups outshined Lady Antebellum within the decade (such as the Zac Brown Band, Little Big Town, The Band Perry), Lady A is still the one capable of getting a hit on all metrics (radio is where the other groups seem to have declined or imploded). I hope they can continue having success into the 2020s (but sadly I think radio will move on by their next album).

It's not official but from what I know, "What I'm Leaving For" is looking like the next single, announcement could come on Monday. I know many here want "Ocean" next but that might not happen.

ETA: âWhat Iâm Leaving Forâ is fine and I can see why they would pick it (it sounds similar to âAmerican Honeyâ) but I just canât see it escaping their second single curse.

If it wasn't going to be "Ocean" I am so glad it is "What I'm Leaving For" instead, as that song is a bit more radio friendly and also probably my second favorite song off the record behind "Ocean".

I'm all for "What I'm Leaving For" being a single. I do hope "Ocean" gets a single release too but the song I'd really hope to see released before the era is over is "Boots". I think it would be a hit.

Let's pray that the radio momentum of getting a #1 after 5 years gives this one a chance. It's a WONDERFUL song and it's a bit more radio friendly, but does it escape the sophomore slump of past eras?

With this more than likely hitting #1 on Billboard Monday, Lady A will become only the 6th group in history to have at least 10 #1 hits. Only Alabama, The Oak Ridge Boys, Rascal Flatts, Zac Brown Band and Exile have achieved that feat before them. Not to mention they'll be tied with Exile as well at 10 #1's.

Good for Lady A. They have been one of the most consistent country groups of all time.

Great song and video, but "What I'm Leaving For" wasn't even really on my radar as a potential single when I listened to the album the first few times. I think there's probably some stronger options they could go with for radio on Ocean, and I'm not sure if I see WILF being the song to break their second single slump. Those 'life on the road' songs tend to be iffy cause the general public can't relate to them, too.

Those 'life on the road' songs tend to be iffy cause the general public can't relate to them, too. This is a very fair point. I think the very point of the video is to bridge this gap between relatable and foreign. I'm surprised no one is talking about Pictures being in the conversation for a single. We all live in a world where social media pictures dominate our perception of others. This song kind of continues with the notion that it is truly impossible to capture an emotion from a point in time just with a simple photo. The connotation of a picture does not equal the connotation of a memory and I think that's something everyone can relate to.
