Killing on streaming as well, for a country act.
Spotify (Apple) #39 - Beer Never Broke My Heart (#64 Apple) #53 - Even Though I'm Leaving (#29 Apple) #89 - Refrigerator Door (#43 Apple) #92 - Lovin' on You (#44 Apple) #103 - Moon Over Mexico (#62 Apple)
4 of his older tracks are in the top 200 on Spotify too. 10 older tracks appear on Apple Music's top 1500. He really is having himself a mini album bomb (EP bomb?)! When his full length sophomore album drops, it's going to be the first time we see an exclusively country act have an album bomb on the Hot 100, I'm sure of it. His numbers are just extremely impressive.
Still loving this so I gave his EP a spin and it's strong! The only track I ended up not saving was "Refrigerator Door," and that's mostly just because I found the production week and the lyrics just average. I didn't think it was bad, though. The rest of the EP, while nothing groundbreaking, is solid and a very enjoyable listen. I shot "Lovin' on You" over to my fiancée to see about putting it on our wedding playlist. "Even Though I'm Leaving" brought a tear to my eye.

I heard "Even Though I'm Leaving" on the radio the other day which really caught me off guard. I can't remember the last time I came across a station playing some random album cut like that. Luke Combs really is on another level in country music right now.

I may be alone in this, but I’m absolutely loving “Moon Over Mexico” that hook is too infectious, and the production is great. Really want to hear the recorded version of “Every Little Bit Helps”

Luke Combs really is on another level in country music right now. Every song on the EP has two adds according to Mediabase, except "Moon Over Mexico" only has one. KTTS in Springfield, MO has added every song off of "The Prequel" and is playing them all fairly evenly. They've played "Refrigerator Door" 19 times, "Even Though I'm Leaving" 20 times, "Loving On You" 16 time and "Moon Over Mexico" 18 times. They've also played "Beer Never Broke My Heart" 62 times in the past seven days. WEBG in Chicago has added two of the four new songs. They've spun "Refrigerator Door" 19 times and "Lovin' On You" 18 times. They've played "Beer Never Broke My Heart" 44 times in the past seven days. "Even Though I'm Leaving" is getting spins on KBEQ in Kansas City with 15 spins.

I think they were also one of the handful of stations that was playing "Beautiful Crazy" while "She Got the Best of Me" was his current single. I remember a radio PD boasting about playing it because hardly anyone else was at the time.

Kind of surprised this doesn’t happen more often honestly. If I work at a radio station, why would I not play some random album cuts from the formats biggest emerging stars? Just because a song isn’t being promoted doesn’t mean it can’t help the station. Why not spin “Weekend” by Kane Brown a couple times, or “Beer Cant Fix” by Rhett & Pardi? Especially during album bomb weeks, it makes sense to play flashy popular songs to help compete with streaming.

“Lovin’ On You”, “Refrigerator Door” and “Moon Over Mexico” all made the Bubbling Under chart. It’s funny how those 3 al did similarly.

Turns out this has poor callouts. Fifth highest negative and fifth lowest net positive. I think Beautiful Crazy will have more recurrent airplay than this.

I imagine this will be "Simple" part 2, a high selling lead single that connects really well with the general public a lot, but callout doesn't reflect that at all.

The way he yelps "long neck ice cold beer" is Guantanamo Bay-style torture. Everyone I talk to complains about the way he screams. It pushes people away. This won't be the song of the summer by any means. It'll get one week at #1, but "God's Country" will be the true king. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end of this guy's career. This song is not connecting well with the general public. Almost one in five listeners don't like it. It's getting bought on iTunes by a teensy-weensy fraction of the country who adore Luke Combs. It's not a hit.

"Beer Never Broke My Heart" does move up 3 spots to #6 with a bullet of almost 400. Despite the poor callout, I think the astronomical sales (#13 all genre) are just too much to ignore. I do think the poor callout is gonna prevent a long stay at #1, but this song is still a pretty big hit regardless.

I'm not a big fan of Luke Combs (I haven't liked a single song of his), but I appreciate him ditching easy pop crossovers and having a more neo-traditional sound here and there. It is a huge hit, and it's showing on the Hot 100 is representative of that. Your argument regarding Combs's fanbase doesn't hold. Fans usually buy singles once they came out, and maybe a week or two after till they get their paychecks. It's been around for a while now, and still selling. Even if his career lasts only a few years like Sam Hunt, it's definitely not just going to end after this song. He's big enough he doesn't even need radio. Not even a lot of A-listers can do this, and yet he can get his album tracks to make the Hot 100, yet Combs can. His fanbase is a powerful force. If they don't get sick of him, and he doesn't sell out or anything, he'll be perfectly fine, at least for a few years, I'd say.

Luke is kind of picking up the chart ball that Eric Church left behind an album or so ago. I see that sort of trajectory for him, meaning one day when he's not smashing the charts, he'll still sell out arenas.

Why does this suddenly appear on the Best of the Week column on iTunes? The release date has passed already...

I know this is the lead single to Luke Combs' second album. However, according to the Billboard Country Update, This One's For You has now spent 32 weeks at #1 on the country albums chart. I have amended the top 25 albums: 1. Come On Over-Shania Twain-Mercury-1997-50 2. Always & Forever-Randy Travis-Warner Bros.-1987-43 3. This One's For You-Luke Combs-Columbia-2017-42 4. No Fences-Garth Brooks-Capitol-1990-41 5. Fly-the Dixie Chicks-Monument-1999-36 6. O Brother, Where Art Thou-Soundtrack-Mercury-2000-35 7. Fearless-Taylor Swift-Big Machine-2008-35 8. Some Gave All-Billy Ray Cyrus-Mercury-1992-34 9. Ropin' The Wind-Garth Brooks-Capitol-1991-33 10. Killin' Time-Clint Black-RCA-1989-31 11. Need You Now-Lady Antebellum-Capitol-2010-31 12. Not A Moment Too Soon-Tim McGraw-Curb-1994-29 13. The Woman In Me-Shania Twain-Mercury-1995-29 14. Traveller-Chris Stapleton-Mercury-2015-29 15. Feels So Right-Alabama-RCA-1981-28 16. Mountain Music-Alabama-RCA-1982-28 17. Blue-LeAnn Rimes-Curb-1996-28 18. Some Hearts-Carrie Underwood-Arista-2005-27 19. Kenny-Kenny Rogers-United Artists-1979-25 20. Taylor Swift-Taylor Swift-2006-24 21. The Gambler-Kenny Rogers-United Artists-1979-23 22. Always On My Mind-Willie Nelson-Columbia-1982-22 23. Behind Closed Doors-Charlie Rich-Epic-1973-21 24. The Closer You Get-Alabama-RCA-1983-21 25. Wichita Lineman-Glen Campbell-Capitol-1968-20 Seeing since Luke Combs is spending his 40th week at the top of the country albums chart, I have amended this list for you. Only one of four country albums to spend at least that much time at the top.

Seeing since Luke Combs is spending his 40th week at the top of the country albums chart, I have amended this list for you. Only one of four country albums to spend at least that much time at the top. Could this be the reason why they are holding his second album back? Even though I think his first album still has decent chance to top the album chart after first few weeks of second album release lol
