Currently predicted to debut #2 with 185k-210k sold! Manic also debuts with 17,278,931 streams on Spotify in it's first day! I was not expecting these numbers considering the performance of the singles! I'm proud of her! The #2 debut isn't that bad. For comparative purposes: Badlands debuted at #2 with 115k SPS (97k sales). Hopeless Fountain Kingdom debuted at #1 with 106k SPS (76k sales).

Wow, I had no idea that Badlands outsold Hopeless Tragic Fountain's first week. I would have thought the opposite. The power of Without Me pushing this Mania even higher!

The album is pretty good! I wasn’t a fan when she first popped up on the scene, but I’ve really warmed up to her. Got tickets to see her in July!

Her fanbase has clearly grown. Even her debut was a good showing. She is also at 85 on Metacritic. HFK scored a 66, I couldn't find Badlands score.

Ayyyy I like 3am now! Read along to the lyrics and it really hit home. Also, I love Chad Smith's drumming here. Smash! Edit: I'm Not Mad is strong enough to be a single. @ her relegating it to Target bonus track.

Holy sh!t at the comparison! She also has around 140k pure sales predicted as well. I'm so proud of her, her best album getting what it deserves!

There are a couple tracks that are worthy of being post-album releases, and if I were her team I'd go for '3 am' or 'Still Learning', favorably the former.

For anyone who hasn't heard em, I'm Not Mad and Wipe Your Tears which are the exclusive tracks on the Target and Japanese editions respectively.
Tbh these are both solid songs but I don't mind them being bonus tracks cause they don't feel so vital to the record and 929 closes the album perfectly.

SHE IS CANCELED. OVER. DONE.
Halsey inadvertently makes joke calling for the collapse of One World Trade By Tamar Lapin January 23, 2020 | 7:24pm
Pop star Halsey on Thursday tried to blast a music magazine for giving her a bad review — but ended up mistakenly calling for the destruction of One World Trade Center.
Pitchfork described the 25-year-old singer’s new album “Manic,” as tedious and referred to it as “the kind of amorphous pop that you might associate with a miserable Lyft ride.”
In response, the New Jersey native tried to make a joke, tweeting: “can the basement that they run p*tchork out of just collapse already.”
Turns out the mag, owned by Condé Nast, has its New York offices on the 40th floor of the gleaming Financial District skyscraper that was built after terrorists on 9/11 brought down the Twin Towers.
While Halsey may have been clueless about Pitchfork’s location, others on Twitter were not.
“Losing my mind thinking about the person on halsey’s team who had to tell her she just called for the collapse of one world trade,” tweeted NBC News reporter Ben Kesslen.
Another user added: “Halsey mistakenly (??) advocating for another 9/11 over a Pitchfork album review will be the funniest thing that happens in 2020.”
The “Without Me” singer quickly deleted the tweet. She then clarified to her 12 million followers that she hadn’t meant to offend.
“ABSOLUTELY deleted it upon realizing this,” she tweeted. “Was just trying to make a joke! Intended zero harm.”
“Just figured I could poke at them back with the same aloof passive aggression they poke artists with!,” Halsey added. “Clearly a misunderstanding.”

Does she really deserve to be cancelled just because she didn't check where a business was located? Is that how far down the hellhole cancel culture has gotten? Jesus...
People make mistakes, damn it. She's already apologized. Let it go.

What I really enjoy about Halsey (especially this era) is her interviews. I love watching her articulate her craft and how vital making music really is to her survival. She takes her craft very seriously and it's cool to see how her songs are essentially slam poems put into music. During her Zane Lowe interview, I was captivated by how she would just casually recite the lyrics to her songs in conversation.

^ YES, thank you! I LOVED her interview with Zane Lowe. I usually get bored watching interviews by celebrities not named Taylor Swift but I was hanging from Halsey's lips during that one. Absolutely love the way she talks. I don't know why everyone's trying to make her seem less intelligent than she actually is.
She's super successful and loved, especially now during Manic's release but I still think she would be even bigger and appreciated had they presented her as a pop girl when she first started out instead of that "hardcore alternative girl" crap when she was a pop artist to begin with. She's a star.

Damn, people are being a little over-dramatic about that tweet. It's not like she's going to care enough to search where Pitchfork's bias ass building is located. Come on now.
People are dumb enough to say she can't take criticism too. Maybe so, but Pitchfork's headline was so melodramatic, and their reviews have always been bias as hell so...
