This is such a great summer, easy listening, windows down type of song.
Cale seems like a cool guy, i hope this hits.

For me after hearing his two singles and his ep I don’t hear the “it” factor. I don’t see what separates him from the pack. This could hit but it’s very generic and I doubt there’s be much impact.
With how bad his first single flopped I’d be shocked if he broke out tbh.

Why would you name your child Cale tho
Anyway, this song is pretty generic/run-of-the-mill. Nothing new or exciting here... and it's not particularity interesting either. I'll pass on this... hopefully he has stronger material on the way.

Yeah, this'll be a hit. It's got the easy, catchy feel and the corporate label backing it. Calling it now. This will go somewhere.

I'm sure his label hopes you're right because this one was DOA with only 16 adds. I'm starting to think Warner Bros. may be spread a little too thin at the moment. Not all their artists have singles at radio but they have so many and it doesn't feel like they're building any of them to be stars. Not helping matters imo is how many new male artists there currently are, I don't think Cale stands out enough to gain attention.

Give it time. There's so many new artists that it takes a while for new songs to catch on.

Not terrible, but not a song I'd play regularly. I don't even remember how it goes lol

Give it time. There's so many new artists that it takes a while for new songs to catch on. While it does take time, this song got less adds than his first single did opening week and statistically songs that don't or barely even crack 20 adds ("Hey Whiskey", "Hotdamalama", "Craig", "Love By The Moon", "Radioland", "Damage", "Rockin All Night Long", "Dark Horse") have either barely charted on Billboard or not make any dent on the chart whatsoever. I don't see what's so different with this case. Cale Dodds is the biggest definition of forgettable male artist signed to a major label that I can think of.

Right now, WMN's team is in a pretty good position to promote this, actually. All they've got right now is "God's Country," "Love You Too Late," and this. So what if it didn't get a bunch of adds in the first week? Warner's team was probably focused on pushing Brett Eldredge to #1 last week. Now they can focus all their resources on this, because Blake clearly doesn't need any help, and Cole seems to be doing just fine. I bet Cale pulls in a bunch of adds next week. '

Give it time. There's so many new artists that it takes a while for new songs to catch on. I suppose anything is possible but I give this song becoming a hit at less than a 10% chance. There is zero hype around this guy. There was some early last year before his debut single was released (even then, he got 22 adds) but Cale's been passed by many programmers for other new artists over the past 12-16 months. His debut "Take You Back" was fairly radio friendly, as is this one, but I think that's part of the problem. WMN is being very safe with the single selections...so safe that he's being lost in the shuffle. For the artists that break into getting top 10 hits, many others just don't take off and I think Cale will be one of them. He got 16 adds on impact day, which is very low these days with 156 stations on the panel. Don't get me wrong, being safe tends to work but these songs are just so bland and there's nothing distinguishing Cale from other new male artists. Warner's an interesting label because it seems John Esposito (chairman and CEO) likes to sign artists and keep them for a long time, because he believes so much in them (Charlie Worsham, Frankie Ballard, Hunter Hayes, The Last Badeloeros) and they have a ton of other artists getting promoted at the same time. 11 artists singles are currently getting worked to radio and soon to be 12, with Kenny's single dropping next month, along with another Cody Johnson single as well. Cale's on the WMN promotion imprint, which if I had to pick, seems to be the promotion imprint that's the most "prestigious", with Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell, Brett Eldredge and Cody Johnson assigned to it; so perhaps Cale is valued heavily by Warner but this single's add date number was not good. I still believe "Lying" should have been his debut single but my hunch is they passed on it because it was already a Sirius/XM song and they wanted brand new, unheard.
