I believe the last time two Okies got together was Reba McEntire and Vince Gill with The Heart Won't Lie. I am expecting this duet to do gangbusters on the chart. It should be Garth Brooks' first #1 duet.

Wonder if they actually release it for purchase/streaming on any non-amazon platform. Also, not totally analogous, but interesting that this is happening right around when Sheryl Crow releases a new duet featuring Maren.

EDIT: It appears Gord was joking, so you can ignore my ramblings.
Looks like this might be a song that has been recorded by Canadian country artists Gord Bamford. The wording on Gord's tweet is odd enough to make me question if he's just joking about the same title for the songs. The content of Gord's song doesn't exactly match Garth's quote of the song being about "spending your summers in the dive bars across America", but it sure does sound what I'd expect a Garth and Blake duet to be.

This goes to radio on Tuesday, June 18th. Not the impact date. Should be a big debut though at radio.

Never mind the whole Gord thing above. Taste of Country has the songwriters as Garth, Mitch Rossell and Bryan Kennedy. This trio wrote Garth's "All Day Long". Rossell wrote "Ask Me How I Know". Kennedy has co-written a few other Garth tunes including the singles "Good Ride Cowboy", "Beaches of Cheyenne" and "American Honky-Tonk Bar Association".

Will this be released on Amazon like the previous singles?

I guess it’s safe to assume we won’t be getting that album on Friday...

On one of his recent Studio G chats, he hinted the album would come out on Amazon prime day in July. Who knows though as it was suppose to be out by now.

I don't know what Apple did to piss in Garth's cheerios but he needs to get over it. Apple and Spotify would not hurt but only help Garth. Anyway, looking forward to hearing this.

Wow Blake’s on a roll right now. With arguably the biggest song in country music out right now, and next a duet with Garth! That’s pretty impressive. This will probably have a big start at radio just because it’s the two of them. Really hoping it’ll be released on iTunes/other streaming platforms. Could be a big hit...I’m hoping I like the song!

I'm also hoping we can hear this on streaming or iTunes with Blake being on it.
Garth denying Apple and Spotify the rights to his songs hurts no group more than the country music listening public.

That might not happen because iTunes is shutting down. ITunes the computer application is shutting down. Lazy press reports forced Apple to let folks know that the iTunes music store will still be there. People who buy songs will still be able to do so. You’ll also be able to rip tracks from CD to computer. iTunes the App is becoming three apps. Basically, like phones and iPads already are.

If this gets promoted as a Blake song, I think this could potentially get Garth another number one hit, not to say Garth couldn't have done it by himself. I'll have to listen to the song before passing judgment. Interesting that both Garth and Trisha are releasing new songs around the same time.

“ONLY on radio”
Haha I find his hate for putting his songs on streaming and digital selling platforms to be so strange. I like the clip but it almost won’t matter if we can’t really listen to it easily.

I preordered the album on Amazon a long time ago so it better be available on there.

I think this will do very similar to George Straits “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar”. It will debut very high and that will probably be the peak.
Blake is pushing “Gods Country” so Radio might back off on this pretty quick.

Really like the fun of this! Should be a nice summer hit for Garth and Blake. It’s a worthy addition to the run of songs about bars this past year. I’d rank it above Every Little Honky-Tonk Bar, below Down to the Honky-Tonk.
