For My Daughter makes me want to be the best dad I could be and truly love my child like there is no tomorrow.
Yet, here I am 20 years old and single. Lol

âLike A Rodeoâ or âFor May Daughterâ would both be excellent choices for a radio single. If either is chosen, Iâd imagine weâd get something brand new from Kane. This has definitely been a quiet single for Kane, but I do feel the success of âOne Thing Rightâ was always going to overshadow this one.

I wonder if they'll try "One Thing Right" at country radio after this one. It's not the countriest thing out there by any means, but I don't think it would sound *that* out of place on country radio.

"For My Daughter" would be absolutely massive. It definitely has my vote for his next single, because it's a fantastic song and the production is just gorgeous. There's some solid options on the original tracklisting of Experiment, but I could definitely see them going with something like FMD next given the buzz it got when released + that it's a newer song and I know on his last record they did a re-release to tack on more material rather quickly.

I wouldn't count out "Short Skirt Weather" as the next single. Quite a few stations were playing it before "Homesick" was sent out.

Short skirt weather, For my daughter, Like a rodeo, American bad dreams. Quite a few smashes left. I literally prefer any of these over the released singles

I'm still holding out hope for "Short Skirt Weather" even if it's only a slim chance.

Well, looks like the next single will be new material (and uptempo):

Well, looks like the next single will be new material (and uptempo): Does that mean Homesick will be falling soon then? No. âHomesickâ will likely reach #1 by March. Heâs just looking forward. Kane said he (his label Iâm sure) does not want back-to-back ballads going into the summer. Itâs the longtime thinking in radio and with labels but sometimes too much gets made about it. If itâs a guaranteed smash, tempo shouldnât matter. The reason it does is because corporate programmers program their logs in a way that wonât allow ballads to play back to back on the air. That scares labels and why upbeats usually are given the benefit.

Man it feels like a crime for this album era to only have 3 singles. So many big hits are going to be left behind. Really disappointing to hear even though Iâm always excited to hear new music from him. But itâs just shocking to think, this album had much buzz when it was released, I thought for sure 4 singles were guaranteed with 5 being possible.

Count in me in among those that are a little disappointed that they're moving on so soon. Granted "For My Daughter" wasn't on the original album, but I thought that would've been a huge smash if they'd gone with that next and kinda followed the blueprint of his first album with its release of "Heaven." Alas, it was not meant to be. :'(
Looking forward to whatever he releases next though. It better be something good if it's gonna take the place of FMD.

I'm sad they're moving on too soon. FMD just became a HUGE missed opportunity. This lead single (is it actually a lead for Album 3 or just something new?) better be damn good if it's favored by the label over FMD.

Kane is quickly becoming one of my favorites, so glad this made it to the top. I'd like another single from the album* ("Short Skirt Weather", "My Where I Come From", or "Baby Come Back To Me") but If they're moving on I just hope he moves in the more traditional direction that's been emerging. His voice sounds good when surrounded by traditional instruments.
*I'd also love for "For My Daughter" to be given a try as well.

Heâs been playing 2 new songs at his shows. One called âVodka & Cranberryâ and the other is called âBe Like Thatâ. Maybe one of them will be be the next single.

The Coronavirus may be helping this score a 2nd week at #1 over Jake Owen. Even though this song is about missing home and not an actual sickness it is good advice in this scary time that if you are sick then you should stay home (or see a doctor).
In actuality though, I wonder if the virus will impact promotion of songs...

In actuality though, I wonder if the virus will impact promotion of songs... I can see a lot of labels being really complacent and keeping songs on the chart for a long time, especially since promo (Late Night, ACMs, etc) is probably gonna slow down big time. Also I don't see many new artists releasing debut singles anytime since radio tour would be with that.

Even though this song is about missing home and not an actual sickness it is good advice in this scary time that if you are sick then you should stay home (or see a doctor). That's not why. This was always going to get two weeks -- Sony Music Nashville's been planning it for weeks now. It remains to be seen if promo reps are asked to stay home and I'm not aware of anyone getting the virus yet in country radio, but I'm sure the way business is conducted, will be changed a bit in the coming weeks. Emails, calls, texts and ads can still be done though, and that's a lot of promotion these days anyway. This could impact radio tour/visits/station shows however and I expect radio companies, concert promoters and venues to lose significant income in the coming weeks with cancellations. It's been a hot topic in radio circles the last few days.

If this stays at #1 tomorrow night I really hope Jake blocks Aldean next week. I mean isnât this week coming up Aldeanâs push week? I hate saying that as a fan of Aldean but I think We Back is one of his most horrendous singles ever.
