This is my favorite song on the album! Glad it’s the next single.

I thought "Notice" might be the next choice, since its currently the top selling album track, but this one's pretty good too.

I also expected Notice, as it's for me, the best song in the album. But I'm fine with this choice as well.

Hmm I thought this was a good choice for second single until I heard “Notice”. That one should have been next IMO. This is still a great song though and solid choice.

This is still a great song though and solid choice. “Notice” and “Beer Can’t Fix” are the best radio songs on this album, but I understand they have to offer different tempos to keep his output fresh for PDs.

Absolutely love this song. Definitely my favorite song lyrically on the album. Big fan of the toned down production and that piano melody is absolutely gorgeous. I think it was a good call to follow up LWGGH with something slower.

I think this is going to be a smash for him. It's a home run choice for a single.

I haven’t been a big fan of Rhett’s music over the years but wow, this one is, dare I say, fantastic? I don’t think I’ve liked one of his singles this much since “Beer with Jesus.” I like it better than “Marry Me”, which I enjoyed.
The production is so subdued compared to his other releases. It’s not going be mistaken for traditional country but I enjoy the piano driven music as well. The strongest part of the song are the lyrics and melody. I love this subject. It’s one that so many people should be able to relate to. My friends and I have actually made a promise to one another to never get too old or busy to forget each other and to hang out enough to stay close. We’re starting to get careers and even get engaged but we still act like we’re 18 when we see one another.
I’m not a parent myself but my mom and dad have said to me before that they still think of me as that kid they raised — something I’ve heard numerous times from other parents as well, including my sister who has raised 6 children, two of which are adults now.
I just think this song really drives home this message well and I’m kind of floored Thomas Rhett released a song like this, after arguably his most pop-sounding single to date. I’ve heard “Notice” and that’s definitely a hit but almost anything he releases would be, it’s a great move to change things up with this great song.

I really like this song, and I personally resonate with it for many of the same reasons sabre14 mentioned. I'm a sucker for piano in my country music, and I think that musical choice and the production suit the themes of the song well. When I first heard the song, I knew it was going to be either the second or third single. "Marry Me" was the only single I enjoyed from Life Changes, and I was underwhelmed by most of Center Point Road, but he has a few smashes in waiting with this, "Notice" and "Beer Can't Fix" (if he's allowed to release it).

If anyone has Sirius XM, they are playing this on the digital/online channel Highway Discovery.

If anyone has Sirius XM, they are playing this on the digital/online channel Highway Discovery. Also being played way too much on The Highway. What isn't being played too much on The Highway? I was listening to Highway Discovery yesterday and within in one hour, I heard Thomas Rhett (different songs) played twice. Uhhh....isn't this channel supposed to be discovering artists, not ones most people know about? I swear, The Highway doesn't listen to people that have complained on social media about their lack of variety of artists through the years. I have got their survey multiple times this year (which is a surprise, considering I barely got it last year) for their "countdown" and I wonder if they read what I put in the free text field. If I running things, I would have the interns go to writers rounds that happen every single night in Nashville, and find the talent there. I have been to over 30 concerts in the last 3 years, and some of those are artists most don't know exist. You find out who has the singing talent when the gig is acoustic.

I think it might be my favorite thing he's ever done. I loved Sixteen, but I think this is even better. The melody is straight up fantastic. Piano is so underutilized in country music anymore, and Thomas shows just how effective it can be. It definitely draws more from Billy Joel than Alan Jackson, but there's enough country in the chorus melody to keep me happy. The lyrics are strong as well, but the melody is what drives it home. Great song.

Love this song now. Like someone mentioned above, the more organic production on this with the piano at the forefront is a treat. After this I think he should go with “Beer Can’t Fix” and end with “Notice”. That’ll be a damn good album cycle.

I like this song quite a bit, but I feel like some of the lyrics don't quite flow that well. The overall message is a good one though.
On a semi-related note, one of the local stations near me has been playing "Notice" for a few weeks now.

I had to look up to see if this was co-written by Phil Vassar. It sounds exactly like something Vassar would write.

I want to like this because I feel like it's a stronger song attempt from him, but his voice just remains so... painfully vanilla. I really feel disconnected from any emotion in this song. I probably would've enjoyed this one if a different male artist in the genre had performed it, but Thomas Rhett's reading of this song just puts me to sleep.

Otherwise, this is really good. Very strong melody.

I wonder if this will be one of the songs that might top the charts during the freeze, depending on how two massive songs "Even Though I'm Leaving" and "One Man Band" are peaking at the same time. Of course, it could peak earlier than that but if the Luke Combs/Old Dominion dominance stays for a while, this wouldn't be out of the question. I think it's either going to be this one or "Ridin' Roads" that is going to be at the top during the freeze.

I wonder, is it weird that the video has so little views after all this time? 4.6 million views seems like nothing compared to his last single.

Yeah, it should/would be this, but based on the Country Countdown USA co-host schedule, it looks like Big Machine has other plans for Thomas and is going to let this get its one week and then start falling. They'll max Lady A the week after for a Mediabase-only #1 and concede the freeze to Dustin and Broken Bow. It's a shame if you're a fan of Thomas or this song, but tbh I'm glad to get this out of the way because I've quickly grown tired of it. I want "Notice." "Ridin' Roads" is no great song by any means, but it's a big hit in its own right and it hasn't burned on me nearly as quickly as this has. So one solid week for Thomas is all I'm expecting. Sometimes, you just gotta take one for the team.

Hmm interesting, Luke Combs doesn't seem like he's giving up that #1 slot this week based on how he's been trending so far this week, so things will get interesting with Old Dominion co-hosting CCUSA this weekend. Maybe there'll be a late week push from "One Man Band"? It'll be really interesting and that may have repercussions on how the next few weeks will proceed, but the scenario you mentioned does seem like how it's most likely going to play out. I do love "Remember You Young" and not "Ridin' Roads" so it's a bit disappointing for me but letting this go before the freeze hits and pushing a single in the new year makes sense rather than wait until after the freeze for this song to start falling.
