The first Iggy Azalea banger in this stacked top 5 to depart is her most recent hit single, "Sally Walker." Hit is used loosely here because it didn't exactly light the charts on fire, but it did exceptionally better than anything else she'd put out in recent times. The stars aligned for her briefly as it had a splashy debut at #62 on the Hot 100. A catchy piano melody paired with a sassy lyrical knock on the popular nursery rhyme 'Little Sally Walker,' and elevated by a slay-worthy music video that went all-in for her gay fanbase with notable appearances by drag queens and James Charles, made the single pop for her (albeit briefly -- radio is still trash so it died off too early there, unfortunately). It only suffered one bottom half ranking, but almost everyone else had it in their top 20, including landing at #2 on my own list and in the top 10 of five others. "You would think it's getting evicted how my booty moving Yeah, better yet, I need a U-HAUL One of a kind, I don't do malls These bitches talk more than group calls Shut the fuck up with them loose walls"

SW video > song.
Glad "Started" made Top 4! It's probably gonna go next, though.

Sally Walker also proved she can still pull in numbers enough to make a solid splash on the charts
Which was amazing to see after all that's happened there is something still there
Imagine if the song was fully backed by a supportive label, it could have possibly been a modest hit

Glad "Started" made Top 4! It's probably gonna go next, though. Bingo. In back-to-back reveals, we see the death of the 1-2 punch bangers that preceded the release of In My Defense, which is now laid to rest in this rankdown leaving behind the three monumental career hits from her The New Classic debut. Originally teased in the closing of the "Sally Walker" video, "Started" is a braggadocios tune that plays off the 'started from the bottom' phrase coined by Drake, but with copious amounts of hate and crafty lines throughout all over one of her most fire beats to date. It is I who loses my #1 next with this loss, though I am in good company as yet again this song racked up exclusively top 20 rankings, except for one outlier. This fanfare was strong with this one, with nine top 10s. "I started from the bottom and now I'm rich I got in my bag and I ain't looked back since I started to say sorry, but fuck that shit You started out hatin', now you love my drip"

Island invested in 4 separate videos/singles and even with independent A&R trying to work Kream at radio, it couldn't make it higher than #25 on Rhythmic. Radio and Spotify refuse to throw any real support behind her music and it's blatant at this point.

Maybe I could've ranked "Started" higher, but there's just no way it's one of my top 5 favorites from her.

Prediction for Top 3: 1. Black Widow 2. Fancy 3. Work
If I could re-submit at this point, my #1 would go to "Work".

In what may come as a surprise for some of y'all, Iggy Azalea's monumental career smash and #1 breakthrough hit, "Fancy," falls shy of the win and the top 2 altogether! With its infamous Clueless-inspired music video visual and highly quotable lines from its opening lyric to the sung hook from Charli XCX, it blew up into one of the biggest hits of 2014 and put Iggy on the map. Despite being by far her biggest single and signature hit, it falls short of contending for the win in this rankdown. Kanenrá:ke's lone rank outside the top 20 helped contribute to it falling short, though almost everyone else placed it in their top 10. LBTrocks and surfy are the latest to lose their #1 ranks here, with six remaining split across the top 2. "First things first, I'm the realest (realest) Drop this and let the whole world feel it (let 'em feel it) And I'm still in the murder business I can hold you down, like I'm givin' lessons in physics (right)"

In the end, it ultimately came down to Iggy Azalea's first official career hit, "Work," versus the follow-up smash to her breakthrough hit, "Black Widow." They fought hard over the top spot ("Fancy" was the only other contender for the win, but it started to lag a safe distance behind these two about halfway through the submissions), but it was "Work" that held onto the top spot for the majority of the process and clinched the victory in the end, with a 6-point lead over "Black Widow." Our winner racked up by far the greatest number of #1 ranks, with five in total, making it the favorite of 1/3 of the participants that sent in a list for this. It landed in the top 10 of everyone else's list, except for a top 15 from woods and an outlier bottom half rank from Kanenrá:ke. Despite only clocking a single # rank by comparison, "Black Widow" was no slouch as the only song in the rankdown to impressively not have a single rank below the top 15. Most opted to put it in their top 5, too. "Work" set the stage as the first of many twerkable anthems for Iggy Azalea, while the autobiographical lyrics find her rapping over a trap beat with elements of EDM about moving to Miami as a teenager and grinding hard to make it. "Black Widow" followed in the footsteps of "Fancy" in its composition -- a hooky poppier song featuring a British singer providing the chorus vocals (this time it was Rita Ora), with a music video that took inspiration from another cult classic film (this time Kill Bill was the movie of choice). Both are bonafide classics in her catalog, and made a very deserving and strong top 2. "You don't know the half This shit get real Valley girls giving blowjobs for Louboutins What you call that? Head over heels"
"This twisted cat and mouse game always starts the same First we're both down to play then somehow you go astray We went from nothing to something liking to loving It was us against the world now we just fucking"

"Valley girl giving blow jobs for Louboutins, what you call that, 'head over heels'" is THAT line that will go down in history.
Also, "No money, no family, sixteen in the middle of Miama" - make it the national anthem of America already.

Also, "No money, no family, sixteen in the middle of Miama" - make it the national anthem of America already. The national anthem is already "Kream" tho But yes, that line is ICONIC. And the second part you quoted is so melodically pleasing. "Work" is masterpiece as SHOOTER said above. I was prepared to see "Fancy" run away with this because #basics but was pleasantly surprised as the ranks rolled in and "Work" continued to dominate.

I was more lurking and following along with the reveals but I did want to add that I'm glad I ended up doing this rankdown! Iggy is more or less on the opposite end of the spectrum for me as far as what I normally listen to, but I still quite enjoyed doing this one. I was also able to find some new jams that I'll be adding to my running/workout playlist, especially "F**K Love", "Beg For It", and "We In This Bitch"! "Walk the Line" remains my favorite discovery from the rankdown and is one that I still connect with the most lyrically. Thanks again .indulgecountry and I especially enjoyed the additional commentary and insight into each song!
