Another TBC, gah!!!
Love the music video for "Martha Divine" and I really like the song. Really excited for this new album, Ashley is one of the best new female voices in country music!

Ok radio this is so close to the top 40, let's get it there next week and then some please! It technically reached #40 a little while back but then it got bumped back out. :/ But yes, I'm ready for this to actually start climbing. It's been off to a decent start, so I hope that it can at least out-peak "Dahlonega" for her.

The fact that this song has been pushed as a single for almost 4 months and still isn’t even top 40 is mind blowing. This is a fantastic song and just further adds more proof of country radio unwillingness to play females.

Totally agree, the first time the highway played it , i had to listen to it several more times!

There are songs on the chart with 35+ and 40+ weeks that are still climbing into the top 25. It's absolutely awful. In the mid-90s, songs were leaving the chart after 13-14 weeks after peaking at the top. Recurrent rules weren't even necessary because artists were spinning out 3-4 singles a year.

Songs were removed from the chart after 20 weeks if they were below a certain point (sometimes top 20, sometimes top 30, etc.), regardless of whether they were gaining or losing spins.

"One Night Standards" officially makes it's Mediabase debut at #43 this week gaining 10 spots and has a bullet of 80 and has the highest bullet of the songs in the 40s.

Just based on the singles she’s released so far she should have multiple #1’s. Ashley is easily my favorite female country artist out there right now.

Love that #47 to #39 move on the airplay chart. I never did come back around to quoting this but I hope this song is her breakthrough. This woman should've already had multiple #1s by now.

I'm almost positive the recurrent rule in the 90s was 20+ weeks at #30 and #25 in 1998/1999 (I believe) without a bullet. I'm not sure the recurrent rules were the reason songs blitzed up and down the chart, but rather just a normal practice of releasing singles by labels.

Don’t forget they were trying to sell albums too. Now? Singles. So promote singles as long as possible tied with market changes at radio has us where we are.

I'm not sure the recurrent rules were the reason songs blitzed up and down the chart, but rather just a normal practice of releasing singles by labels. Billboard’s recurrent rules have switched often from the 90’s to the 2000’s. At one point it was below top 25, at +20 weeks (which it was in the late ‘90’s). Top 20 for a while, top 15, then top 10. The charts move slowly because of corporate logs. Majority of conglomerate stations (iHeart, Cumulus, Townsquare, CBS) play a corporate log, across all their stations. Meaning, songs stay in overnight airplay on most of the stations they’re on (ie: newer artist singles). Many of those songs aren’t heard by the majority of average listeners until they get converted to daytime spins, which is usually top 25-30. It was like that in the past to a degree but not to the extent it is now. Labels have a much different philosophy when promoting singles now. They used to give up on a single if it was at 15-20 weeks and hadn’t cracked the top 25-30 yet but now they wait until those daytime conversions come. I’d say a song that spent 15 weeks on the chart in 2004 is equivalent to one that is 30 weeks old now. Listeners aren’t as glued into the radio for long periods of time as they used to be either. Most listen during drive time and just for minutes at a time. They don’t care if a song has been on the charts for 40 weeks, like a chart watcher does or even someone who is keyed into music like we are on Pulse. Scan listening too — listening to country, pop, AC, etc. It’s hard to see sometimes (because good grief I’m tired of many songs on the charts) but many listeners are not lol. Unfortunately, those are the people radio programmers are catering too.

Enters the Top 40 on Mediabase at #38 gaining 5 spots from last week with a bullet of 137, and besides Chris Janson and Keith Urban "One Night Standards" has the highest bullet of all the songs below the Top 30.

Martha Divine is a fantastic song but what song of hers hasn’t been? I cannot wait for the album. It may end up being my #1 country album of 2020!

This looks like it should easily cruise into the top 20, right? Maybe even further? This song is so dang catchy and is a clear standout from the album.
I am especially excited to watch this along with Maddie & Tae's song work their way up the chart.

Yep this song has really hit its stride as Ashley McBryde moves up to #25 on Mediabase gaining 220 spins. So hopeful to see this make the Top 20.

A month after the last comment and this should land in the top 20 once Blake/Gwen are removed from the chart this evening. Really glad that this is doing well for Ashley as she deserves so much success and Airplay. I guess I can forgive “Girl Goin’ Nowhere” not being a hit if this ends up being a big hit.

Yep officially Top 20 at #20 for "One Night Standards" as Ashley McBryde gained 63 spins this past week. Now that this is Top 20 I hope it can pick the pace back up a bit as while it is not doing bad, the bullet and audience gains are a bit lackluster.

This is on the cusp of becoming her first Billboard top 20 single. I'm not sure what her path forward is from there, but it's great to see the song experience the success that it has so far.

I could absolutely see this inching towards #1. It's moved fairly quickly once it hit top 30. This and "Die From a Broken Heart" are two I'm rooting for for the long haul.
