Happy to have them back, just hoping it is not in the same vein as Day Drinking and especially not Summer Fever. When Little Big Town is good, they are amazing but they have been so hit and miss with me forever.

This one is more of an old school country style for Little Big Town with a bluesy feel that reminds me of Chris Stapleton's catalog.

Oooo! This is good. It should easily be their best performing single since "Better Man". I like the bluesy feel to it. I dig it.

What do they expect when they've been Day Drinking?

Lyrics:
No more propped on a barstool, tear in my beer Drowning my sorrows, wishing you were right here No more 80 proof bourbon to get you off my mind It ain’t why I’m sitting here sipping one tonight Yeah, I’m over drinking, over you I’m done with bottles of chasing the blues I’ll still go out with the boys and knock back a few But I’m over drinking, over you Yeah, I’m over drinking, over you No more flipping through pictures in the corner on my phone No more dialing your number in the dark all alone If I’m out at a bar and I’ve tied one on I’m drunk ‘cause I’m happy not drunk ‘cause you’re gone I’m over drinking, over you I’m done with bottles of chasing the blues I’ll still go out with the boys and knock back a few But I’m over drinking, over you Yeah, I’m over drinking, over you
I ain’t on the wagon These wheels are still turning But I’m tired with you dragging My heart through the dirt and the hurt I’m over drinking, over you I’m done with bottles of chasing the blues I’ll still go out with the boys and knock back a few But I’m over drinking, over you Yeah, I’m over drinking, over you, over you, over you I’m over drinking, over you I’ll still go out with the boys and knock back a few But I’m over drinking, over you

So if this is being promoted as the first single from their 9th studio album (wow!), does that mean that their album is finally ready to go? Because I could have sworn that how Summer Fever and The Daughters were promoted

No, Summer Fever will be a stand alone single.

They performed this live!
Sounds pretty good! Definitely 'bluesy', the melody and harmonies in the chorus are SUPER strong. Excited for the studio to be released!

Everyone keeps calling this 'bluesy'...but from the video above, it just plains sounds COUNTRY to me. Well done, LBT.

Wow, this is quality. Definitely hear the "blues" sound everyone is describing. I have no clue what their reception at radio will be these days, but this at least seems to have potential.

I like this but would be shocked if it’s a hit.

This isn’t as immediate (for me) as The Daughters. I’m happy their album is finally ready and hope it’s miles better than The Breaker. In anticipation of their announcement tomorrow, I’m gonna spend tonight listening to previous albums.

This isn’t as immediate (for me) as The Daughters. I’m happy their album is finally ready and hope it’s miles better than The Breaker. I couldn't agree more! "The Daughters" is a far superior song, even tho it wasn't single material. This is a better choice for radio. I wish I could say that I was confident that this will be a hit for them, but LBT's relationship with radio and the charts is so tumultuous as it is that it's hard to be confident in predicting good things for a song that, IMO, is stylistically a bit 'risky' for country radio. I could see radio either loving this or not loving this, not much in between. I hope it's the former of course lol. Anyway, I like that this is not an obvious 'safe' choice for a lead single. It's definitely a song that preserves LBT's artistic integrity IMO, and is not just you average radio fodder, and I find that commendable. As for how I feel about the song itself, I really like it! I am encouraged that the lead single is this good, because honestly, I was keeping my expectations very low based on the artistic direction they have been taking recently. This song provides great vocals, harmony, and a really 'earthy' melody that sticks with you and is fun to sing along with. I am really anxious to hear the new album, and I hope that they went back to their roots as a band while making it.

This is great. I hope it does better than their last few singles at country radio. Excited for Nightfall to come out, too. Feels like it has been too long since they gave us a new album, even though it's been roughly about the standard wait time.

This is good. The Breaker left me rather underwhelmed but between this and "The Daughters", I’m actually looking forward to a new album from them now. Radio, please be kind!

Damn, none of those dates look like they’re going to work for me 😕 Maybe the Chicago shows, but March is a terrible month for me to travel and I won’t know if I’m able to until January probably.
Anyway, looking forward to the album, and I hope some instant grats are released between now and January, because I’m really anxious to hear more of the songs from this record.

This is good.... but they seriously need to switch it up a bit! Their albums have been hit and miss, that’s putting it nicely. I wish they’d get Kimberly on lead vocals more!! Karen is great but she just seems to get lead on every song now. Fine, I get it, her songs tend to be the hits. But let’s be honest, Hits are most likely behind them, they should just release great music! The Breaker was complete trash, not counting Better Man. Really hope the bring their A game this time round.

I like the album cover (and how it ties into the Daughters cover) more than I like either songs at this point.
I’m kinda over them, tbh. I agree the Karen Show gets old. Especially in concert where the others are essentially standing around.

Oooooo, they're relegated to performing theaters now?? Hopefully this doesn't flop, or they'll have to do their next tour in casinos...

Oooooo, they're relegated to performing theaters now?? Hopefully this doesn't flop, or they'll have to do their next tour in casinos... That is cold. They’re saying this album is better in theaters and are doing some doubles, but I noticed that as well. I can’t imagine there’s a big repeat audience for a LBT show? At least for me- I saw them once and that’s probably it for me. They’re pretty boring and have very little charisma / stage presence together for being together for 20 years or whatever.

If they were still churning out hits consistently I could see repeat value, but as it stands it would be a similar show to the previous tour or two. I've seen them twice now, and the set list wasn't all that different. I'm digging the news single.

37 first week adds. Not a bad start. Curious to see if Little Big Town gets another hit because "Better Man" was well over 2 years ago now and I don't know if radio is gonna get them another hit.
