Not a bad song, but I do not think it is the right choice. I think they should have gone more upbeat.

Pretty song, but I definitely expected something more uptempo after "Talk You Out of It." This single feels a little too in the same boat melodically and musically to the first two singles from the project, and I think at this stage they could've benefited from a switch up in tempo/style. On the other hand, the singles from this album seem to indicate them going for a more mature angle. Not sure if this is the right way to go -- this honestly sounds like something country radio would theoretically eat up, but I'm not sure what to expect out of its chart run given the glacial climb for their last single (which still perplexes me). Something tells me that it'll still do well despite this feeling 'samey.' Rooting for it to do well though because they're 3 for 3 this era with me in terms of releasing good songs to radio -- which tbh makes this their strongest batting average for me to date, lol.

It's a pleasant song and should play well heading into the winter where it will most likely peak, but I agree that an umptempo song probably would have been a better choice. "Hey Ya'll" could have been a summer anthem like "Up Down" in my opinion, and "Can't Hide Red" probably would have been a good choice as well. But I can't knock this choice too much because it is a good song that shows a different side from them.

I feel like this song will at the earliest peak in January to February assuming radio takes to it which who knows since "Talk You Out of It" zapped a good amount of momentum from this album cycle. I am not optimistic for how this song will do since their last single took forever.

I honestly forgot this song was even on the album. Kind of in shock actually that they didn't go with Can't Hide Red. Seemed like the timing would have been perfect for it.
It wouldn't surprise me to see this miss the top 20 altogether. I think FGL is kinda running on fumes at this point.

I’m not sure how much they were considering “Can’t Hide Red” but Broken Bow’s desire to release Jason’s lead single by quarter 4 might’ve been a factor. The ad posted in Country Aircheck and Billboard tonight sure looks like Jason’s upcoming lead single (that drops next week) and maybe they couldn’t get the permission from BBR on “Can’t Hide Red.”
They did test every song on the record at RadioTraks, so I guess this one performed well enough there to go ahead with it. After “Talk You Out of It” took over 40 weeks just to peak at #8 on Mediabase and #11 on Billboard, I’m not sure “Blessings” was the best choice.

26 adds two weeks before impact? Pretty impressive. The last one had 40 by impact day, and only got four early adds. This Week's Adds1 add. Haley & Michaels has 26 total adds, not FGL.

This song is fine and all, but I don't really understand its choice as a single following "Talk You Out Of It"'s nearly yearlong climb to stall outside of the top 10. We'll see what happens though, but I'm not expecting anything more than top 20.

If Jason Aldean takes "We Back" back does that mean we can get "Can't Hide Red" instead of this?
This is actually a better song than 90% of their output but a really odd choice for a single IMO.

I'm surprised at how slowly this is moving. Week 9 and its at #38 on Billboard. I like it, but I'm not sure I see it being a big hit in the long run for them.

I actually like this song. It's really nice to hear the acoustic guitar, stripped back production, and a traditional-leaning sound coming from them. Tyler Hubbard's voice is much more tolerable in this setting, as well. The chorus has a good ol' country melody. Also, really good music video. Everything about this has an 'authentic' feel to it.
I am gonna need "Can't Hide Red" as the next single tho, cuz that song is awesome and easily the best on the record.

Don’t think they were happy with the rollout of their last album. Ironically, all their peers repped by the same management are really flourishing(Morgan Wallen, Chris Lane, HARDY) so maybe they’re looking at going in a different direction than the younger guys they write with.

I really love that you used the word authentic here in your description of the song. That's exactly why this song hits home for people like me. There's no crazy production or something that seems like it was written as an act or facade. This seems like they are truly trying to blossom out their musical talents within this song. There's something an audience will appreciate when an artist metaphorically makes themselves naked and exposed for the world to see. There's a trust factor and understanding there that I hope FGL continues to pursue.

This one seems to be starting to take off at radio a little now. It's been getting great gains lately and has one of the healthiest bullets below the top 20 currently aside from the obvious smashes like the latest singles from Blake Shelton and Luke Combs.

Did the label drop this song? This song lost over 150 spins and nearly 400k in audience today. Obviously it is just a single update, but an update losing that much in spins and audience indicates the song stands a good chance of being let go of.

I guess so. Lost nearly 200 spins and over 1 million and audience in the latest update.
I hope that doesn't mean Carrie said yes.

It's kinda weird when we just see a song randomly throw in the towel like this. Like just a month ago I commented how it was starting to take off a bit more and pick up in gains and increase its bullet, and even though it had slowed back down again (it is country radio after all), it seemed like it was doing fine and would be another safe top 20 hit (at least) for them in the coming months. Wonder if since they recently switched management that they're ready to just wash their hands of this whole era that was definitely an underperformer for them.

Agreed, it was moving along good enough, albeit slowly, to at least let it keep going for the time being. If they did let it go which it sure looks like i have to assume they are ready to put something brand new out fairly soon.

I agree, it looks like they are getting ready to move on completely. I thought that "Can't Hide Red" would have been released. I like it well enough, but I am definitely fine with them just moving on entirely. "Blessings" will easily go down as their least successful single to date.
Looking back to the beginning of the thread, we all called this though. They should've ran their single choice through Pulse, lol.
