I would probably say the "Ladies In The 90s" music video (kind of a guilty pleasure song and music video, as I found it kind of cute) is better than this, but still a really great music video. Hoping this can hang in there and at least be a minor hit, as this song has been stuck in the 50s for a while now and it is starting to get a bit frustrating, still pulling in adds so hopefully in the new year after the freeze this song can get going.

Oh, I love Ladies in the '90s (song) but I hated the music video. Thought they could have done so much better with that theme. Liked this one a lot more, but I have to say my least favorite part of Lauren's career is her videography.

Just noticed that Gleb (Her partner on DWTS) was the love interest in this video. I think it’s cute that she put him in her video. Sad she didn’t win DWTS, but now she can start promoting this full on.

Love this song, and I love Lauren Alaina. She deserves much better than what she’s been getting from country radio.

Back to iTunes Country top20 following the release of the music video. This seems to be very promo sensitive.

Back to iTunes Country top20 following the release of the music video. This seems to be very promo sensitive. Probably because it's still at such a low level of airplay right now that if anything happens like the music video dropping or her giving live performance, it's a big increase in visibility.

Due to a little glitch on All Access this song showed up in the Top 50 despite not being in the Top 50. "Getting Good" is at #52 on Mediabase with 525 spins a bullet of 44 and Mediabase audience of 1522k. So far this song has a pretty good start overall it seems like.

Hope this can at least be a sleeper hit this year, as this song is off to a better start than "Doin Fine" (wasn't even Top 50 on Billboard 12 weeks in). Very excited to see how "Gettin' Good" does and hopefully it can stay in the Top 50 all week and pass a few more songs ahead of it.

How are we looking compared to "Ladies in the 90s" or other mid-size artists in their 12th weeks? So I have some of the songs that were on marathon chart climbs last year and at least made the Top 30 (including some songs currently charting), which I feel like is the best example. Also "Ladies In The 90s" was at #50 in it's 12th week. (All numbers are in correlation to Billboard. "Feels Like A Party" #48 "Buy My Own Drinks" #39 "Day Drunk" #43 "Closer To You" #39 "Love You Too Late" #36 "Every Little Thing" #40 "The Ones That Didn't Make It Back Home" #48 "I Don't Know About You" #44 "Make Me Want To" #48 "Rednecker" #40 "To a T" and "After A Few" #46 "In Between" #48 "Slow Dance In A Parking Lot" #37 So if this song can really take off a bit in the next few weeks I will feel even better, but as of now it seems at best on pace for a Top 30 peak it seems like unfortunately, the one thing I will say. There is a whole load of songs ahead of Lauren Alaina on both charts that look primed to go recurrent any week now.

Now officially Top 50 as "Getting Good" lands at #46 for the week, gaining 7 spots and 92 spins. Besides Miranda Lambert with "Bluebird" you have to go up to "Beer Can't Fix" for the next song with a higher bullet than Lauren Alaina

She performed "Getting Good" on The Today Show and announced a new EP coming out on March 6th. She said the 3rd album is not done so she's releasing a EP with songs she's been singing on her headlining tour (that would be 3 new songs, + for sure Getting Good and The Other Side, and maybe Ladies in the '90s too).

Normally I'd be annoyed at the release of an EP (most times it feels like a legit cop out for a full album, when the full album is probably ready) but I actually imagine due to DWTS that the third album isn't actually done for Lauren Alaina. I do hope this song can do well enough to get a proper album out (15 weeks to peak at #48 so far is very underwhelming to say the least). Than again, given the potential smash "One Beer" could be shaping up to be in addition to "Thinking About You" connecting really well, I think there is a non zero chance (still slim) that UMG releases her third album regardless.
Also she looks and sounds great as usual on the Today Show.

She has sold out every show of her tour so far and this song is sneaking up the US Viral 50 chart on Spotify. There is some momentum going on right now... we'll see if it does anything to the chart. Being a fan of Lauren Alaina is an exhausting thing. It sure builds patience.

"Getting Good" did have a pretty good week on Mediabase this week gaining 32 spins and 216k in audience and should set a new peak of #45 on Mediabase tonight and Lauren Alaina has gained 115 spins the past 27 days since hitting the Mediabase chart on January 6th.
Not a ton to be excited about, but outside of the usual fast movers (Luke Combs, Midland) Lauren Alaina had probably one of the best weeks of all the songs below the Top 40 on the chart as a lot of the songs in the 40s on Mediabase really struggled this week (Dillon Carmichael, Rodney Atkins, Hootie & The Blowfish, Eli Young Band, Little Big Town).
With so many songs ahead of Lauren Alaina looking really weak on the charts and/or about to wave the white flag given how old the songs are (singles from Jon Pardi, Jimmie Allen, Travis Denning, Garth Brooks, Scotty McCreery, Ryan Hurd, LoCash, Caylee Hammack, maybe Rodney Atkins) I do think "Getting Good" could take off in the next couple of months especially with the EP coming out next month.

I am still gonna remain optimistic about this song's chances to at least be a minor hit, as this song should probably be at #42 or maybe #43 tomorrow night on Billboard, as Lauren Alaina has gained 36 spins and 215k in audience the past 6 days, with one day left in the Billboard tracking week, which considering how unstable the chart is right now and how many songs ahead of Lauren Alaina on either chart nearing the end of the road, that's not bad.
For comparison "Doin Fine" on Week 18 on Billboard was at #50 on Billboard, and "Ladies In The 90s" was at #51 on Week 18.

This song finally got a truly good week on Mediabase as Lauren Alaina gained 2 spots to #44 (re-passing Midland and getting ahead of "Tennessee Whiskey" as well) setting a new peak and besides Runaway June has the highest bullet of any of the songs in the #40 to #50 range with 77 spins gained and also gained 228k in audience. Also look for Lauren Alaina to get a good add week as she looks to have gotten the Cumulus Block.
I once again decided to see where "Doin Fine" was 22 weeks into it's country radio run and compare it to how this song is doing and "Getting Good" is doing slightly better as "Getting Good" has about 73 more spins and 132k more in audience at this point.
I am still remaining cautiously optimistic about this song's prospects

If “Ladies in the 90’s” wasn’t a big hit I really have my doubts that anything she releases will be. Ladies in the 90’s was a fantastic song that had a great sound and fun throwback lyrics.
It just sucks being a female at this time in country music.

It just sucks being a female at this time in country music. It sucks, but I will say it's better than what it used to be. Ingrid Andress and Gabby Barrett are probably gonna go #1 with their debut singles, Runaway June had a huge breakthrough with their last single, and new singles from Carly Pearce. Ashley McBryde and Miranda Lambert look like they can easily peak at least Top 10 if not Top 5. Not to mention Maren Morris having a 2 week #1 with "The Bones". Is it at an acceptable rate? No! But I will take what I can get with women succeeding in country radio and the tides do seem to be shifting towards women succeeding more and more even if it is a slow progress and I do think "Getting Good" is at a solid enough pace it can be a minor hit. Also, Hot Take: This song sounds more radio friendly than "Ladies In The 90s".

Listening to her new EP, ALL of the songs sound like workable radio singles. "Country in Me" is just waiting to happen. "The Other Side" is the power ballad that would set her apart from every other woman in country.

Sorry to double post but can anyone explain how this song went 42-47-49 yet gained each week? Is she really getting that far passed while still making good gains?

Sorry to double post but can anyone explain how this song went 42-47-49 yet gained each week? Is she really getting that far passed while still making good gains? It's gains are just lacking a bit compared to the others on Billboard, a lot of it's spins have really shifted to overnight (evident by it's #41 position on Mediabase and #49 position on Billboard) that and since hitting #42 back in late February she has lost 44k in Billboard audience while gaining 161 spins on the same panel but since Billboard is audience based Lauren Alaina is falling a bit behind. But in good news for this song, she got 9 adds on Mediabase this week, and moved up to #33 on the Hot Country Songs Chart.

Good News: This song managed to re-enter the Mediabase Top 40, gaining 3 spots to #39 on Mediabase this week so that should mean this upcoming week "Getting Good" should see a decent week this upcoming week all things considered.
Bad News: I decided to see how other marathon chart runs were doing 27 weeks after going for adds and "Getting Good" is even falling behind their pace for the most part. Here are some recent examples of singles that made the Top 30 and spent close to a year climbing the chart if not more.
"After A Few" Chart Position #40 Spins: 1047 Audience: 4.874 "In Between" Chart Position #37 Spins: 1262 Audience: 6.201 "Day Drunk" Chart Position #37 Spins: 1226 Audience: 6.813 "Caught Up In The Country" Chart Position #39 Spins: 1122 Audience: 4.204 "To a T" Chart Position #33 Spins: 1241 Audience: 7.546 "Die From A Broken Heart" Chart Position: #45 Spins: 825 Audience: 2.695 "Doin Fine" Chart Position #44 Spins: 840 Audience: 3.415
Now after 27 weeks after going for adds "Getting Good" is at #39 with 972 spins and 2.709 audience. Besides "Die From A Broken Heart" and mostly "Doin Fine" this song is starting to fall behind even these songs in where they were and "Die From A Broken Heart" lucked out from a pretty good chunk of songs giving up early on in the year this year. With "Getting Good" I do not know if that same luck will come to fruition here. Unfortunate as well is that the low audience and high spin totals tells me that a vast majority of this song's spins are in overnight. Hopefully some of the larger audience stations like Westwood One, KKBQ, etc. can breathe some life into this song's audience as it is very low for a song in the Top 40 on Mediabase.
I don't think the label is gonna let go of this song anytime real soon, since well it is only 27 weeks old, and at the end of the day this song is the most streamed on the EP and has connected decently well with fans (this song has over 3 million views on YouTube for the music video and has more likes and views than other songs ahead of it like the latest singles from Travis Denning, Scotty McCreery, LoCash, Rayne Johnson). But unfortunately due to spending the last three months stuck in the 40s on Mediabase I doubt this does much more beyond just scraping the Top 30 on both charts.

What are we thinking for next single? I’d vote for Somebody Else’s Problem.

What are we thinking for next single? I’d vote for Somebody Else’s Problem. I honestly think "In My Veins" would be the best follow-up to this song because of the uptempo and very catchy melody. Also because I don't hear anything special about "Somebody Else's Problem" but given the fact that it got the live performance on Vevo and it at least as of right now has the most views sans "The Other Side" (love that song but it should not go to country radio) on YouTube I think you are right it will be the next single. That being said I don't see UMG letting go of this song til the bitter end and seeing this song at least lasting til June if not probably July
