Lmaoooo was that "worst post in this thread" comment really necessary? You could have gotten your point across without saying that, lmao.
Anywho, yeah I really cannot see this song working as a duet, but that would definitely be interesting though. As for "Low", though, imagine how AMAZING it would be with Chris Stapleton’s voice also on it. I would be so happy if a duet version of "Low" gets released after this.

As far as the “Low” comment, I just can’t hear it. I think the song is beautiful as is!

Ok never did I once say I want this to be a duet, I said I can see it being a duet if done with the right person, and an appropriate arrangement. I apologize, I did not know I was not allowed to share my opinion on a public music forum without being reprimanded for it.

That is why everyone came to your defense after that was posted.

That goes both ways, we are allowed to disagree with you on this public music forum. (But we can do so in a polite, respectful manner.) Perhaps it's just that I think these songs work really well on their own, but I just don't feel like either DA or Low are meant to be duets. I guess I just feel like they're too personal/emotional to be made into duets as they are. I feel like they would need substantial changes to the arrangement(s) and probably some different lyrics to "make it" work as a duet, and at that point, is it really worth it? Just my two cents. :)

Anywho back to being OT, in the age of streaming it’s important to be innovative and add something new. Hopefully she gets more than $22 and a iPhone 10 camera for the budget of this music video because that’s gonna be what gives the tracks it’s legs on streaming since we know she is weak with Spotify & AM.

I hope the song’s inevitable rise to #1 isn’t as dramatic as this thread. Or maybe I do.

I did not start the thread of the future Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and eventual Single and Song of the Decade (2019-2029) for it to be tarnished. Let’s all keep our tracks in our hair, fix our lipstick, and carrie onwards as we watch the record of the millennium begin its incredible rise into the Great American Songbook.

How about some good news! http://instagram.com/p/B4VyGcrl5ic Drinking Alone has a music video shot by Randee St. Nicholas who also directed Blown Away, Smoke Break, and Heartbeat! I am beyond pumped! DA deserves a killer video and BA and SB are 2 of my favorites from Carrie's whole career

Heard this on the radio for the first time and it sounds like FIRE. They kept the vocal run at the end that makes this song. I’m excited that Randee St. Nicholas is directing the video too. Should be an epic video!

I leave Pulse for 3 days and come back to a mess wtf lmao! There is no worst post in this thread (that's not the right way to go about disagreeing), and in my opinion DA could work as a duet but Low is to remain intact. Case (re-opened briefly by me because (I apologize but) I had to chime in but now forever) closed.
Randee St. Nicholas did great with the CP vid, but it has no replay value for me. I want Miss Randee to give us an entire BA-era kind of moment with this video.

Hmm, I hope this MV is more along Randee’s work for SB/CP, and not similar to Heartbeat. If this MV is anything like HB’s I will truly be disappointed.

Based on tour treatment and art direction for the single, I think we’re in for a smoky, cabaret-like music video with sultry undertones and warm colors. Where “Blown Away” was given to us in tones of blue and gray and “Smoke Break” boasted a dusty look, I can see deep reds and even black serving as the predominant color scheme for “Drinking Alone.”

Generally not a fan of Randee's videos, they were always lacking... something. Most of them didn't have much replay value for me.
BUT...... I can't complain. At least we are getting proper music video!!

Randee's videos for Carrie aren't exactly the best, but she's not a bad video director, either. I'm just really hoping that they bring it with this video. The last time I felt like Carrie was delivering show-stopping music videos was during her Greatest Hits era. On the whole, her videos from the last album era and this one have been pretty underwhelming.

I wonder if the video will be posted immediately after the CMAs?? (Like the next day though, not seconds later or something like that)

It may make sense, if it’s an actual decent video, to hype it the week before and then release it on the first day of the next tracking week to maximize views/pts.

Then it may be best to release the MV this upcoming Friday, but there’s always a little gap between when she releases the official videos and the singles add dates so maybe we’ll see it come out closer to the end of November.

Carrie Underwood went for adds today and "Drinking Alone" was the second most added song with 47 adds (1 station beforehand) so 48 total adds. Solid enough start, little disappointed and shocked though that LANco got more first week adds. I am very interested to see how this chart run goes.

Hmmm - how does this compare with her other 4th singles? DL, SYA, MS, etc.. as well is it a lead single from LANco or a follow-up single?

Considering LANco only got 1 more add than her (and they technically tied since she got 1 early add tbh), I think that it's more that they got a surprisingly good number of adds rather than Carrie not pulling in enough. They definitely had next to no momentum going into this release, but it seems like country radio is willing to give them another shot despite "Rival" being awful. Just under 50 adds for Carrie's 4th single seems like a pretty expected start to me, and she'll definitely go up much faster than LANco will, so it won't matter who got more adds on impact when a lot of the stations that added their song won't put it in anything more than overnight spins for awhile.

This should get steady adds until the week before Christmas. Ideally, they would've liked to release this one immediately before or after the CMA Awards but they decided to give radio a new single. LANCO's will likely see a lot of early overnight spins on those stations, versus Carrie's, which I expect a solid mix of daytime and overnight spins off the bat -- typically what happens with huge names like her.

Hits were wrong. Late add were added and she now ties for the #1 most added song on country radio this week.

How on earth did LANCO manage to pull that off? I figured Carrie would get somewhere around 50 but how in the actual F did LANCO also get that many? I figured for them maybe 30-35. I am in shock....
