I probably should have ranked this lower. I've never been able to listen to this in full after the allegations against Jesse came out. It just makes me uncomfortable.

Paranoid Android is a bad song even by Radiohead standards. Recent rankdown featuring Radiohead songs were not at the bottom of my list, as you should know since No Surprises was in your rankdown. This may be true, but, as someone who would say that "No Surprises" is one of my 100 favorite songs ever, what makes "Paranoid Android" so much worse in comparison? I think they're both two of the greatest songs ever made, in much different, but equally effective ways. Paranoid Android is an absolute mess of a song with a rather grating vocal performance from Thom Yorke. Maybe that was the intention of the song to make you really feel like a "paranoid android" but it's a complete blemish on an otherwise solid record that is hard for me to sit through. (The only Radiohead song I would say is worse would be Everything In Its Right Place) As for Coffee and TV, this song is the musical equivalent of a cup of coffee and I'm astonished it made it this far.

I like C&TV quite a bit (& love the video) so to rank it as low as 24 says great things about most of the songs here

I have gradually, very, very slowly been getting into this song more in the fifteen years since this song first came out. It's actually kind of amazing that I've gotten to the point where I'm ranking this song this high here in a rankdown this stacked. Maybe in 2024, I'd actually have this song in my top half.

The #5 song is a bit apart from the pack, with a 41 points gap between it and the #4, whereas there's only a 22 point gap between the #4 and #1 song.

Well, looks like it's coming down to QotSA and "Lazy Eye".
I should be happier with the performance of "Change", but...man, it was so much closer to #1 than I would have expected.

Sorry about the lack of response to the top two, I must have just forgot to do it. Once "Paranoid Android" went out, I didn't really have a preference for the winner, other than what gates said about "Lazy Eye" not winning a rankdown and deserving to win one. "Lazy Eye" is great. I'm pretty sure I would rank it top five in just about any rankdown it's in. This just happened to be the one rankdown where I couldn't rank it top five. Great rankdown, nickd, as per usual. Interested to see what the next one holds...will it be the other one you hinted at hosting before going with this RD?

After that I'll probably do some personal favorites from the same time period.
