We're done with reveals for today!
Here's a recap of the remaining songs in the top 15:
No More Tears
Will You Be Mine Angel
You're the Best Thing Yet
Feel the Need Sweet Love Caught up in the Rapture Same Ole Love You Bring Me Joy No One in the World Been So Long Giving You the Best That I Got Just Because Lead Me Into Love Good Love Talk to Me
Soul Inspiration Fairy Tales Body and Soul I Apologize
It's Been You
You're My Everything
How Does It Feel
Serious
Lately
The spotlight of the day is reserved to possibly my favorite song that we didn't get to rank. It's the ultra-dramatic and lush "Whatever It Takes," co-written by Anita and Gerald Levert for the Compositions album. I consider this song te be a response/reprise of "Good Love" for its darker and sultry atmosphere:

WHAT. IN. THE. UNHOLY. f**k. IS. THIS?!?! I actually had never heard the song before this rankdown and, while I really ranked it high due to that ending where she takes it to church, I'm guessing the production was too...schmaltzy for some of y'all? Whatever. What a phenomenal debut song! This is how I felt about YOURE MY EVERYTHING

I'm actually surprised that the singles from her debut had made it this far. I thought they would be the first ones to go. They were decent, but her singles from her later albums were so much superior.

I like the production for “No More Tears”. The strings kinda remind me of Whitney’s “Greatest Love Of All” and Staci Lattisaw’s “Let Me Be Your Angel”.

I do prefer her later materials, in which she demonstrates more control and elegance. But there's something really raw and phenomenal about her wild runs in "No More Tears" that helped secure its seat in the Top 10 in my list.

I do prefer her later materials, in which she demonstrates more control and elegance. Agreed. As much as I love The Songstress, the later albums are definitely more refined.

The next song is the first to be eliminated from Giving You the Best that I Got.

This batch of reveals hasn't been very kind to one particular person, who is about to lose their #1
This song escaped to #12 by only ONE point and only ONE of y'all will be rewarded with a perfect ranking.

Love the way we touch, I love the way it feels Every time you're near me my poor heart just won't keep still No doubt about that this love I feel is real Ask me to go with you, you know I willMiss Anita's very first HIT. "Angel" was released in 1983 and became her first top 5 hit on the R&B chart, but it has also become a true classic since then. Its relatable message and catchy melody have encouraged covers by other artists, most notably Lalah Hathaway who recently made it a hit at Adult R&B radio again. 11. Y'all some tacky ass hoes! This whole page is nothing but a mess! So let me tell you about Fairy Tales. This song was released as a single in December 1990. This also happens to be the month my dad died. Up to that point, I knew Anita a little bit. My dad was a massive music lover and he had GYTBTIG (and I think Rapture too, that has to be how I knew Been So Long) on cassette, and I remember hearing Angel on the radio. But Fairy Tales was the first time I really got to know Anita. It is technically about a romantic relationship gone sour, but for me it was very different. I was nine, and very disillusioned, and reality was coming into view in a very real and ugly way. My mother never once let my sister or me see her cry. She kept telling me everything would be okay. I couldn't comprehend it. But I could comprehend Fairy Tales. Anita's mama didn't warn her about s**t either. And that's why to be honest I don't really get Active Aggressive's comment about not really being into songs about fairy tales because it's literally a lesson on how they don't exist. Imagine having to learn that lesson before you've worn your first training bra. That song hit all the nerves my little body could take then. It's a really terrible way to be introduced to someone I guess but I felt every ounce of emotion poured into that, and hearing someone else not only understand that level of devastation but also neatly pack it up in such a beautiful form was how I became an Anita fan. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Angel sucked, should have ranked it lower Hold the phone. You're saying it sucked yet ranked it #9? Did you think #1 was your least favorite and #25 was your favorite or something?
