It’s catchy, but the songwriting is so lazy. Is it me or is repeating “I’d burn this whole town down” not quite promoting the best message lol. ?

I'd burn this whole town down if it wasn't for my momma's house is a pretty unique hook and twist on the popular trope of dealing w/ a breakup in a small town. I dig it. I still think he's better than most give him credit for. I don't quite like it as much as "Ridin' Roads," but it's definitely something I'll enjoy hearing on the radio.

This is really good. He continues to lean on the Hip Hop influences, but this one has a big stadium sized chorus that gives it an anthem-like feel. Think this should do well for him.

This one's kinda just "there" for me. It's a catchy song, but the chorus just seems a bit too repetitive and to me, his vocals are quite monotonous. I wouldn't mind this on the radio, but it's definitely not one I'll personally be seeking out.

That beat and production is just so terrible! Melody wise it's OK though.

This song is terrible, he would burn the whole town down if his momma's house wasn't there.. wat? what a waste of talent.

Lyrics remind me of imagery of music video of Sam Hunt's Break Up in a Small Town too much.

Dustin had done way better although I could put up with this one more than his latest album...the chorus bothered me.

I don't understand this guy. He can be great when he's being himself and honest. Think of Cowboys and Angels or even album cuts such as "Your Daddy's Boots", "She Wants a Cowboy". But most times he sounds like he's trying to emulate someone elses' sound. "Hell of a Night", "Seeing Red" sound like Jason Aldean, and the only thing worse than a Jason Aldean lame hard rock song is someone trying to sound like him. Most of Dustin's music after 2017 started to sound like a watered down version of Sam Hunt. This song tries SO hard to be Sam Hunt, from the controversial lyrics to the lyric video. I don't think Dustin Lynch is a bad guy, but for sure he lacks some personality. He could be an A list act if he wanted to, but songs (and albums like this) are taking him nowhere.

Honestly just judging by the initial impact of the album, I feel like the label maybe should have opted for "Thinking Bout You" as the single and not this because that song is really connecting well with listeners (#36 all genre). Obviously helping it is having Lauren Alaina on it to an extent, but I could probably see that single being the follow-up to this one more than likely.

I like this album much better than the last, but I wish he would go back to more like his debut album, because he has a good country sound when he wants. He still has some good songs if the production was done differently.

BBR really should scrap this in favor of “Thinking ‘Bout You”. I know Dustin was on Bobby Bones yesterday, so I’m sure that helped. #1 selling country song on iTunes, so it’s clearly connecting and it’s an absolute ear worm. Very similar situation when “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” came out.

It’s a shame “Love Me or Leave Me Alone” never got its chance to shine(that was a good one). They both sound great on this, and it would be a shame to see another solid duet go to waste.

While it would make sense to release it based on early indicators that it would be a bigger hit, Lauren Alaina is on a different label than Dustin Lynch, and I could see that preventing or delaying a release for "Thinking 'Bout You" because she currently has her own song out at radio ("Getting Good") and is featured on the new Hardy single that goes for adds next month ("One Beer"). She struggles enough in airplay with her own singles, that I doubt her label wants to give even more reason for country radio to ignore "Getting Good" here. Maybe it can still be the next single after "Momma's House" has run its course.

Exactly this....but I agree the impact Thinking ‘Bout You has made continues to impress...its continuing to gain in sales and is now top 10 all-genre. BBR & Arista are about to have some decisions to make.

If you are referring to Chris Young he is on MCA Nashville and if you are referring to Jon Pardi he is on Capitol Nashville (the other 2 artists who have duets with Lauren Alaina).

BBR & Arista are about to have some decisions to make. They already made their decision. Lauren Alain's label probably didn't want her charting with 3 different songs at one time, especially since radio already gives her a tough road when she just has 1 song out. "Thinking 'Bout You" could potentially be a great fourth single option for this fall though once "Momma's House" is done.

Interesting how virtually every song Lauren has ever been featured on is either a hit or a fan-favorite. "What Ifs" is the obvious example but "One Beer" and "Town Ain't Big Enough" are raking in the streams, "Thinking 'Bout You" is clearly a fan favorite, and both "Are You Happy Now" and "Don't Blame It On Whiskey" were well-received. Just give her her own hits dang it. Happy she's a favorite among her peers, but gosh...

Haven't heard this yet, but the other song with Lauren is so great. I hope that one becomes an even bigger hit than Small Town Boy.

We are a week from Dustin’s album release.
Thinking Bout You is still #2 in country iTunes, and #15 all genre.
Momma’s House? #139 on country iTunes.
I’d be beating Lauren’s people down at this point. It’s obvious what song is connecting.

Lauren's song isn't really doing well, so you'd think the label would jump at any chance to get her on the radio.

Lauren's song isn't really doing well, so you'd think the label would jump at any chance to get her on the radio. To be fair they might get that with "One Beer" as that song is also connecting really well. In all seriousness, I do think the label should just go for it in regards to "Thinking of You". I get the argument for Lauren Alaina's current single as releasing "Thinking of You" pretty much halts "Getting Good" chart run (even if 14 weeks to #49 is pretty rough anyway), but at the same time, I think "Thinkin Of You" could connect with the right music video as much as "What Ifs" or "Small Town Boy", if not more with the general public and sounds like a radio friendly song.

I usually like generic catchy Dustin Lynch songs (I really liked Ridin' Roads and even Good Girl) but not this one at all. And yeah, the momma's house line is so bad, I just can't get past it.
Completely agree the Lauren Alaina song is a smash- it's in a completely different league than this.

Second most added song with 36 adds. For comparison "Ridin Roads" got 40 adds. Honestly probably what I expected for a Dustin Lynch single for adds. I still think this will do nothing for his career one way or the other but man "Thinking Of You" should have been the third single from the album on sales and hype alone.
I will say, if it wasn't for "I'd Be Jealous Too" flopping as hard as it did I think Dustin Lynch would be close to an A-lister at this point, they just got a 4 week #1 with "Small Town Boy" all this momentum and the followup single pretty much blew up almost all of that momentum to smithereens. I do think "Thinking Of You" if released could give Dustin Lynch a second shot at re-capturing the momentum from "Small Town Boy". Where as this? I see this probably being about as remembered as the first two singles from the album.

Unless this flops or is pulled, I doubt “Thinking of You” will get released. Considering how long his songs climb the chart and no one caring about his album, I think guys like these are better just releasing stand alone singles.

Music Video:
This song has actually had a pretty solid start since going for adds (up to #51 on BIllboard in 7 weeks) and this is probably my favorite Dustin Lynch single besides his debut single, as I find that chorus really catchy and I am also glad this song thematically is different for Dustin Lynch since his singles for a while have felt the same theme wise. Definitely look for this song to be a bit of a sleeper hit.

Damn, that was a fantastic music video. I don't remember them all off the top of my head, but that was probably his best one to date if not close to it. I love the choice to make the lighting in the video which was a nice contrast with the flames, and how they pull back at the end and everything clears up is pretty cool. My appreciation of this song just went up tenfold after seeing that video. I definitely like this one a lot. I know he's rather unpopular on Pulse, but I really enjoy songs with strong melodies, and Dustin Lynch has always had a great ear for writing or picking songs that deliver that and it is one of the reasons why I tend to enjoy most of his singles a lot, even if they don't always bring anything new to the table. "Momma's House" is really catchy and I'm digging the production as well. Would be glad to see this one continue the string of hits for Dustin Lynch here.
Also as a side note, I love that the song isn't called "Mama's House." For me personally I've always hated that spelling of the word (the based word is 'mom' or 'mother' so idk where the 'a' came from anyway), even though it seems to have become the more popular of the two.

Enters the Mediabase Top 50 at #48 with a bullet of 14. Very happy to see this song already in the Top 50 only after going for adds a couple months ago.
