I love the lyrics, but am I the only one who finds the vocal distracting in places? The high notes & falsetto just feel forced.

If I remember correctly they said on Bobby Bones Show after the album released that they either wanted Thomas Rhett to record this or he had this on hold for his Center Point Road album. Then when he decided not to include it on his album they recorded it instead. It makes me wonder how Thomas’ version would’ve sounded if he had recorded it.

Not my favorite from this album, but I'm sure this will have no trouble reaching #1.
I was REALLY hoping for "My Heart Is A Bar".

Ughh. I liked this for the past year on the Highway. Now we all get to sit through another 9 month run on terrestrial radio!
Sigh..

Not really an Old Dominion fan outside of casual interest in like 1 out of every 3 singles they release, so I haven't given the album a listen, but wow, they're 3 for 3 this era for me. I only genuinely liked 1 single apiece off their first two, but they're definitely stepping it up this album cycle. This is really strong vocally and I love the piano ballad sound of this one. They really nailed it.
As an aside, I heard a country station out of Kansas City randomly play "Paint the Grass Green" a few weeks ago and I also really dug that one, so I wouldn't have minded if they'd gone with that one either. Sounded great on the radio.

The last single was their biggest hit and I wouldn’t be surprised if by the end of this song’s run that this one is. As for the falsetto. It is a natural falsetto, not forced at all. It adds to the emotion of the song.

I was hoping for "My heart is a bar","Pain the grass green" or even "Never Be Sorry" as the next single something more uptempo perhaps...but I like this one and I think it might be another hit for them.

I was hoping for Midnight Mess Around as the next single but as I’d said earlier in this thread. This should no doubt be a hit for them.

I love this song but "One Man Band" was absolutely massive (Top 20 on the Hot 100 and #2 on the Hot Country Songs) and that is a very, very tough act to follow. I think this song will be a #1 hit on country radio, but it is probably gonna be a bit smaller of a hit than "One Man Band" but bigger than any of their other singles. I'd be stunned if this was their biggest hit.

Second most added song on add date with 39 adds. Considering how big Old Dominion is I figured this would be around 50 to 60 adds. Still not a bad showing, but for me just a bit underwhelming

Wow, that video reduced me to an absolute puddle. I haven't cried that hard in awhile. I already thought this song was beautiful and continues to get better the more I hear it on the radio, but that video really sent it over the top. I just love this one. The way that piano riff sounds just tugs at my heart right from the jump, and the vocal performance is perfectly spot-on, especially those falsetto notes during the chorus that give me goosebumps. Just an all-around great song.

I've never really followed Old Dominion too much outside of this era which has really been an A+ cycle, so I will be honest and say that today is the first time I've heard this song. The song was already beautiful--just gorgeous--but that video is something else. I'm sitting here in a river. Before the video was even a minute in I was bawling. What a wonderful video and song; this one deserves to go straight to the top and then crossover.

Kind of shocked the label is still behind this after almost 3 months at radio since it is only at #38 on Mediabase and #36 on Billboard after 13 weeks on the chart. I know that "One Man Band" was a huge hit and still has a lot of recurrent airplay, but I am starting to think country radio is just not very excited or interested in this song.

Can you compare it to the runs of their other singles? It's definitely climbing a little slowly, but 13 weeks to be in the mid-30s is still (sadly) not that slow by country radio standards and it is selling well. I would be shocked if the label dropped this.

Sure thing here are each of their singles 13 weeks in for each of their singles "Make It Sweet" #18 "One Man Band" #21 "Hotel Key" #25 "Written In The Sand" #15 "No Such Thing As A Broken Heart" #17 "Song For Another Time" #21 "Snapback" #16 "Break Up With Him" #49 (note this song spent a good couple of months on Billboard before Sony officially pushed it)

I’m sure “One Man Band” is still getting decent airplay on many stations. Additionally radio leans toward faster tempo songs in the late spring/summer which probably hurts “Some People Do” as well. In retrospect, it might have been a better call to release a more uptempo song between OMB and SPD instead of back to back.

This one was always going to move up slower and be a risky release. It’s just a really slow piano driven song heading into the fun summer months. There is of course such thing as counter programming, but radio PDs will complain it’s hard to “fit” this one into a playlist, as if playing this following “I Love My Country” or “Look What God Gave Her” will make someone’s head explode. An even though it was a big hit, “One Man Band” is borderline a ballad as well, so this is two straight slower songs from Old Dominion. I could see this one fizzling out in the teens, but I’m rooting for it to do better.

This song seems to finally start gaining some traction as "Some People Do" gains 6 spots on Mediabase to #31 gaining 234 spins and 759k in audience this week.
I am curious to see once this hits the Top 30, does it really start to take off like we are seeing from Jason Aldean's latest, or if it goes more slow and steady like "Talk You Out Of It" last year by Florida Georgia Line
