The album is preceded by the #1 Alternative hit "Caution" and "My Own Soul's Warning" (currently climbing the charts).

Early reviews, particularly the NME one, are strong. I won't listen to Dying Breed in full because I wanna be surprised, but I am pumped. Seen these guys 12 or 13 times (I forget which) in 6 states. They're my 3rd favorite band. I'm READY.

Caught their live IG today and Ronnie let slip that Dave was on his way to join them in the studio. Great news, Victims! Also, Brandon mentioned a song that he worked on with Dawes that will hopefully see the light of day soon.

I’m enjoying the listen so far. Great album! I hope they can nab a Grammy or two. They certainly are deserving with their solid output.

This is getting excellent reviews.
Kind of soon to say, but I see this becoming my favorite album of theirs.

It has such a good energy to it and replay value. Yeah, I have heard nothing but good things and reviews are solid (in the high 70s and currently their most critically acclaimed). I even had one of my best friends (who is arguably their biggest fan on the planet, LOL) give me his detailed thoughts after he listened to it last night. He told me I will love it and he knows what I want from Brandon and the boys. My copy from Amazon was not going to arrive until next Tuesday, so I cancelled it and am picking it up from Target in a few minutes. Pumped to have my first listen.

This is a pretty solid album at first listen. Looking forward to jogging and driving with this one.

I really do enjoy all of the songs, but Blowback is really resonating with me.

I loved the album and how the songs fit among themselves. They made a great job on it and it is already one of my favorites from them.

I really do enjoy all of the songs, but Blowback is really resonating with me. Took a while to grow on me, especially after the intriguing beginning before descending into what feels like Fleetwood Mac-lite. I can see it being a single now though, especially since they have been playing it live both acoustic and with a full-band. However, it's still at the bottom half of the album for me. What exactly is he talking about in the chorus though? Anyway, after spending the weekend with this album, while I agree with Brandon saying it's the companion piece to Wonderful Wonderful (particularly lyrically and spiritually), it feels more like the proper sequel to Sam's Town, in terms of sonics and pure ambition and overalll grandiosity. It's like 80s Fleetwood Mac mixed with Tom Petty and the Springsteen influences are also back in a big way. My ranking: 1. Dying Breed 2. Caution 3. My Own Soul's Warning 4. Fire In Bone 5. My God 6. Lightning Fields 7. When The Dreams Run Dry 8. Blowback 9. Imploding The Mirage 10. Running Towards A Place I definitely feel like they have released the strongest songs ahead of the album, but My God is also stunning. Weyes Blood was a fantastic addition to the album, as was K.D. Lang on Lightning Fields. The female voices overall were a crucial addition to this album. I still think Sam's Town is their best body of work, in terms of zero filler, but this is a very close second. There's not a song I actively dislike. I hope it gets some Grammy love.

I think they can get a few Grammy nominations, and they should win. They have the benefit of having a #1 hit in Caution. With so few acts releasing music, the competition should favor them given their stature. I think they should submit either Caution or Dying Breed for song and vocal categories. I think they have a shot at their album category at the very least.

Their best bets are in the Alt and/or Rock categories.

Is it a bit too early to say this is my favorite album by them? Probably, but I've had this one on repeat and it is so damn good. I was supposed to see them here in Austin this fall, but alas that of course isn't happening. With that, here are my favorites (so far):
1. My Own Soul's Warning 2. When the Dreams Run Dry 3. Imploding the Mirage 4. Running Towards a Place 5. Lightning Fields 6. Dying Breed 6. Caution

Probably my second favorite album by the boys, but this is so great. I kind of wish they had released different songs after "Caution" to showcase a different side to the album, but that's a small complaint.
This is a knockout.

The Killers need more stans on Pulse!

Where's the third single? They had two Alternative hits and now they have nothing on the charts and no word of another single.

Yeah. Brandon had said during promo for Imploding that they had something else ready. Sounds like Dave is back too.

Out now. This sounds like their Nebraska. I liked it enough to come back... Active Aggressive @xfer @jazzysoul47 curious about your opinion about the new album.

I had the same thought re: Nebraska. I don't like it as much as Imploding the Mirage, but there are a handful of songs I see myself coming back to.

Out now. This sounds like their Nebraska. I liked it enough to come back... Active Aggressive @xfer @jazzysoul47 curious about your opinion about the new album. Thanks for the tag. I haven't had the time to listen to this yet and I need to be able to sit down and really focus. I actually ordered the box set from their website, which, if I am lucky, will come next month, so I plan on giving this at least one spin tonight. Not surprised in the least that critics are giving this album the highest rating of all their albums though, just based on the style alone. I feel like critics either never warmed up to the bombast (i.e. Pitchfork, who managed to shit on even Hot Fuss) or have been over it for a while, so going in this direction, even if just for one album cycle, was very smart. I'm not into Springsteen, outside of Born To Run and Born In The USA, but I feel like I need to listen to Nebraska now. Anyway, I am a diehard stan and I really think I am going to appreciate this album once I digest it. I'm just glad Dave is back, even if in limited capacity. Excited for K8 already, with all 4 back in tow.

Thanks for the tag! ♥ I think Pressure Machine is the best thing they've done since Day & Age! And has the potential to become my favorite Killers album. I feel like they finally evolved. Instead or rehashing their own past sounds, this sounds very different from their earlier music, more mature if you will. This is not simply a return to form, it's a new height. I am loving the album, much more than most of their past work. And they once were my favorite band, so I'm saying quite a lot.
