As usual, I'll start with an apology. Because many of my least fav songs end up on someone's most fav list. #25 Royal Blood "Trouble's Coming"Synth bass and Angry Birds noises over a predictable 12-bar blues and disco beat. Pretty sure the drums aren't even a real kit. RB used to rock, but I guess they don't write 'em like that anymore?

#24 Dolly Parton "Stairway To Heaven"
A fiddle-n-banjo remake of a Zeppelin classic, sung in a f-f-freezer? Look away, Dixie Land.

I'm charting that Royal Blood song, but the more I hear it the more I get a Cobra Starship vibe. Not that I don't like that band, but I don't need this band sounding like them.

#23 Green Day "Oh Yeah"
They used to rip off old songs and pretend they wrote them. Now they've gotten so lazy they just grab the original recording. #ohyeah #uhno

#22 Pearl Jam "Dance Of The Clairvoyants"
David Byrne should sue these guys for intellectual property infringement.

two of my favorite songs of the year made you sad, but at least they made the list.

No such thing as "bad publicity", right...?
I'm hoping any more new Royal Blood songs feel more like their older material. That one just rubs me the wrong way. I can't blame them for wanting to try new sounds, I suppose. Look at the variety of music the Stones have released? Compare "Satisfaction" or "Mixed Emotions" to a song like "Emotional Rescue". I may hate "Rescue" but they've got enough other stuff to make them still a great band in my eyes.

#21 Used "Wow I Hate This Song"
Most aptly titled song of 2020. Any tongue-in-cheek-ed-ness is lost behind how bad it actually is.

#20 Billy Ray Cyrus "Mama Said Knock You Out" Farmers! (What?) Farmers! (What?) No, not Farmers Boulevard in Queens. He's rapping to actual farmers. Why, I don't know.

Hoping to see at least one Sam Hunt song here. I don’t even care which one, they all sucked.

Hoping to see at least one Sam Hunt song here. I don’t even care which one, they all sucked. They probably all deserve to be on here, but I didn't actually hear any of them (not knowingly anyway) and for this I am thankful.

#19 Mr Bungle "USA"
"F the USA"? No, f you! I've loved Patton & Ian's music for over 30 years. No clue why they decided to cover this revolting song.

#18 Through Fire "Listen To Your Heart"
Listen to your brain and don't don't cover this shmaltzy crap. "The Look", "Dangerous" or "Joyride" might have kept you off this list.

I really not feeling MGK's vocal tones, but at least they sound a bit better when he sings poprock.

Sometimes rappers get accused of "phoning it in". This guy literally phoned it in.

Sounds like a 12 year old messing around with autotune just to see how annoying it can get.

#12 Rina Sawayama "XS"
First, don't use Woody Allen's line about why he married his step-daughter in your lyrics. Next, don't cram random guitar into a slut-pop song as an afterthought. I'll stop there.

S&M, ass-eating, gagging, choking and swallowing so he'll pay your tuition, buy you a car & put a ring on it. Yet people praise it as a "female empowerment anthem"? /smh

#8 Roddy Ricch "The Box"
That this went to #1? Sounds like a chopped and screwed Cameo song. Word down!
