Drake Surpassed Eminem To Become Highest Certified Singles Artist In RIAA History; Earns Two More Diamonds

Drake has finally updated his catalogue and becomes the highest-certified singles artist in RIAA history. The Toronto rap star has surpassed Eminem (166), as he now holds the record with 184 million units as a lead artist.

Drizzy now becomes the third artist in RIAA history to earn five Diamond certifications. Drake’s latest Diamond songs are the 2016 hit “Hotline Bling” and “One Dance” featuring Kyla Reid and Wizkid. Drake’s 2018 Scorpion hit “God’s Plan” is his highest certified single with 15x platinum.

The ascension of ‘Sticky’ and ‘Jimmy Cooks’ pushed Drizzy’s total Platinum plaque accumulation (for singles) to 76 – extending his reign as the organization’s most-decorated singles act.

With the certification upgrades Drake also extends his title as the best-selling singles artist in digital music history overall, with his careerwide figure now resting at the 188 million records sold mark in the U.S.

Any word on a physical of this? For some reason, there are (dead) links to a vinyl and CD, which have been up since release date, on his official website. I have yet to hear a single song from this project, but Drake is definitely suffering from diminishing returns or too much sub-par material for a while now. His rank misogyny is getting tired and he isn't offering any fresh perspectives. Yet, his fans continue to eat it up, so I don't see a reason for him to switch things up at this point.

IDGAF is one of my favorites from the album for sure. Had to grow on me a bit but it's great. Felt like it was something fresh from Drake. I come back to that and RBD the most from this album.
