2 for 2 on great music videos here.
I really like everything about her: style of writing, artistic direction, engagement with fans/social media, the "sorority girl" vibe of it all... but I am having a hard time getting past her voice. Then I think about it a bit, and I grew up with the powerhouse female vocalists (Martina, then Carrie, then Lauren/Danielle/etc) and so I'm maybe just not used to this verrrrrrry laid back style of singing. I really want to be a megafan here but it's holding me back a bit.

I like this a fair bit, but not as much as "Tennessee Orange". It's a great to see a female artist off to a good start though, so I wish her well.

This is a cute song, especially lyrically. I like the attitude of this even if it's a little cocky.

Debuting on the bubbling under and only just went inside the top 40? Yeah this is gonna be huge. Wonder if it surpasses Tennessee Orange’s peak.

Considering "Tennessee Orange" got a raw deal and ended with a #4 peak, it's certainly possible if this one runs into better timing. I don't think this will make as big of an impact as "Orange" did even if it goes all the way though, but I'm still sensing this indeed being another big hit for Megan.

Anyone else feel like this hit a little bit of a speed bump recently? Felt like it was gaining good until early December, now even after the holidays are over it still doesn't feel like it's gotten traction.
I don't think they will pull this song because chart runs are very long now, and this one has connected good on streaming, but she does have a new song coming out Friday titled "No Caller ID" that has gotten a good bit of traction on her socials from the demo she posted of it. Does make me wonder if for whatever reason, it undeniably smashes out the gate, that they might pull this one. I really don't know, I'm just thinking out loud. I do know that she liked fan's posts on Twitter enseuating that this may be the final single from "Lucky." If so, RIP "Traitor Joe" and the title track, (Girl in the mirror too).
While I always welcome new music, I'm starting to hate the short album "eras" now. emphasis on era, because two singles hardly feels like an era anymore, and that's starting to be the norm. So much potential left on the album.

I don't mind if an artist only has a couple singles to radio per era, but I do wish if that is the case for artists and their teams to give some life and interest to the non radio singles, in addition to the radio singles. Some songs on albums feel like they were added on their to increase the runtime with how little attention the artist and their team gives said song, before the album release and even after.

Honestly with how much hype “No Caller ID” has & the huge playlisting, it wouldn’t surprise me if they try to get “I’m Not Pretty” Top 20 then move on.
Regardless of how much high INP gets, it’s still a pretty well known song compared to others on the charts. Megan is connecting at a different level than most newer artists, so I don’t think she’s an artist that’ll need to send all of her songs to #1 (kind of like Miranda & Maren).

I’d completely get them moving onto “No Caller ID,” but man do I miss the era of speedy chart runs cause INP has all the makings of a #1 song. The streaming is great. Not to mention all the other potential hits that were left on Lucky.

"No Caller ID" has officially landed! 😍😍😍 Debut at #55 on US Spotify with 545,476 streams. If I were Columbia, I’d be getting ready to send this to radio sooner than later. Still stable in the Top 10 on iTunes & Apple Music and #52 on Amazon. All signs are pointing to a huge Hot 100 debut & likely a bigger hit than “Tennessee Orange.” I know INP has life in it still & potential, but it’s already connected with people and I think Columbia needs to take advantage of this hype while it’s happening.

I am still not amazed by Megan Moroney and find her pretty overrated here, and that includes "No Caller ID" which is a song I think is fine but her voice remains unimpressive for me, and the melody fails for me a bit.
I actually think they would be fine to wait for a while to release "No Caller ID" to country radio, "I'm Not Pretty" has life left in it and is finally starting to gain some traction, and can still make a further run on the chart. I feel like her new song will probably be like what we are seeing with Cody Johnson's "Dirt Cheap" or late last year with Dustin Lynch "Chevrolet" before it was sent to radio, where the song has plenty of buzz to it before it is even sent to radio, and will (probably) be sent to radio once the current single has done all it can do.

This is pretty great and I’m all for this smashing and becoming a single, I just don’t get why she’s releasing this right now with INP still growing. Wait another couple months to let INP get close to the top 10 and just sit on this one until INP is done or close to done.
They should absolutely release NCID to radio soon, especially if it continues to connect in a big way after it’s top billing on all the streaming playlists, it’s just a shame that INP that would otherwise absolutely turn into a decent sized top 5 hit is likely going to have to be pulled and settle for a top 30 peak in order for NCID to smash. I’d hate to see it fizzle out in streaming if they wait until after INP peaks to release NCID.

I’d hate to see it fizzle out in streaming if they wait until after INP peaks to release NCID. Yeah, there's a part of me that is definitely like... bummed that NCID is being dropped so soon, but also I can totally get the impression from its release that Megan and co. are just playing the game beyond the confines of country radio. It coming out now and smashing on streaming is a net gain for her profile, even if they don't rush-release it country radio. INP has the makings of eventually being a top 5 hit imo as well, but it probably won't get there till like... June. Megan's whole launch to stardom was from cultivating an online following thru social media, so there's likely more benefit to her not settling back and just playing the long game with country radio exclusively. I would've maybe waited a little bit longer to drop it so INP could've gotten a bit higher before some of its thunder got stolen, but idk I see Megan filling a dual role with Lainey Wilson in the country landscape similar to when Carrie/Miranda were the top girls 10-15 years ago. She's well on her way, at least. So anyway, yeah, I do agree, because I can see NCID being a huge hit for her on radio but I'd rather them let INP peak first, BUT I totally understand the approach and also can't really knock it either knowing what we know about Megan.

I said this in the Tennessee Orange thread and I'll say it here: Go listen to Megan's interview on Bobbycast. She explains in great detail how her background in marketing has helped her here. To echo what indulge said, I believe she + her team are being smart in not being particularly worried about the way country radio usually operates. Megan's crossover potential is really strong and having two buzzy songs at the same time (her radio single + her streaming single) is smart. Maybe radio will give in and let a woman (god forbid) have more than one solo single being pushed at radio.
I'll also mention that I'm Not Pretty being able to climb alongside her Old Dominion duet indicates radio is gonna let her be here to stay.

As speculated with the release of "No Caller ID", Megan pretty much confirms with this post that the Lucky era is done sooner rather than later: http://instagram.com/p/C2aJDzMgzuS I wonder if there's a chance her second album may be out by the end of 2024.

That announcement also indicates that maybe they'll see I'm Not Pretty through. Yeah this is what I got from that too. July/August is when I was speculating it would peak, so that actually times out perfectly. Didn't want to see them pull the plug on this great song. In a perfect world she could've went ahead and released "No Caller ID" as a single as well, but I really don't think Megan is big enough yet to have three singles climbing at the same time, even two is a little difficult for her at this point in her career. She's got another bonified smash waiting to happen titled "28th of June" that she teased a few weeks ago. Hopefully they hold off and release that closer to INP peaking, so maybe they can go with it as the first single to her next album. I actually like it more than "No Caller ID."

Yeah, I'm fully convinced that Megan Moroney is going to be up there on Lainey Wilson's level within a year's time. Debuting at #58 on the Hot 100 for a random non-single release is nothing short of incredible, especially for a female in the country sphere. Megan's just firing on all cylinders, and is going to be a huge format star for years to come, which I couldn't be more excited about.
