For the first part of tonight's episode, we'll recap all that's gone down since the start of the season, including the results and the drama that's risen from them. CASTING ROUND - THAT’S NOT A HIT Twenty-five hopeful contestants (plus one neurotic mess and two people who didn’t show up) aimed to enter the game by sending any song that had never charted on the Billboard Hot 100. The judges’ panel was revealed to be made of LS5’s final two (winner Reputainbow and LS3 winner MoD), as well as previous contestants Filthy and Trilogy (runner-up and 3rd place respectively in LS4), and newcomer Aero.
Each judge was tasked with making 2 or 3 cuts from their group of songs, and with eliminations of strong contenders like Fire (“You Lose”), Josh (“Lost”), Preds (“Don’t Speak”) and James (“PDA”), it quickly became clear that the competition would be tougher than ever this season. We also saw redemption for Josh, with Samba choosing him as the season’s wildcard pick.
ROUND 1 - ANIMAL KINGDOM For their first task, the final 16 had to send a song with an animal’s name in the title. Despite accusations of outside influence by former user JukeboxJacob, the round went ahead as planned. The submitted songs ended up including Pulse-music-game staples such as “Dog Days Are Over” and “When Doves Cry”, as well as a variety of underdog picks.
After a shock announcement that Samba would be returning to the judges’ panel (after a two-season hiatus), Hamed received the first FCO of the season with “Pig Feet”, being closely trailed by josh with “When Doves Cry”. With it being the first round, there was no cumulative score to hide behind, and gabe (“Strange Birds”) and wrip (“Grasshopper”) fell in the bottom 2, with gabe becoming the first person sent home from Last Stand Season 6.
ROUND 2 - HISTORICAL SCIENCE After a more forgiving theme in Round 1, Samba tasked the final 15 with sending a song that discusses historical events, which many contestants seemed to struggle with. Shortly before the song list was to be revealed, Samo made an announcement that they were choosing to drop out of the game, giving Gabe a second chance in the game. With this, Samba explained that the round was intended to be a double elimination, which would be going ahead with Gabe’s return.
Despite Samo’s quit, the song list did include another Kate Bush song alongside a mix of well-known classics (“Waterloo”, “99 Luftballoons”, “Man On The Moon”). The surprises didn’t end with the participants, as a tie in the results turned what would have normally been a bottom 3 into an extremely controversial bottom 4, with this twist causing Gabe to be eliminated over Drem and Woods with the person who had previously beaten him in the bottom 2, Wrip. On the other end, Wheat picked up their first win and second top 3 appearance with “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised”.
ROUND 3 - FOREIGN LANGUAGE For the next round we saw the return of a previous theme with foreign-language songs (with Japanese and Spanish excluded). After a number of jokes were made about sending songs in Simlish and cursive, as well as various versions of Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend”, a diverse list of songs in six different languages was sent, without frontrunners as clear as the first two rounds’.
Mayman won the round with “동요 Restless Song”, continuing his rise to the top of the pack. Rounding out the top 3 were Lyhom (“Adar Newlan”) and Drem making a comeback with “SOUL LADY”. We ended up with a bottom 2 of previous FCO Hamed, and Rnb. Despite receiving a 3.5 from Gabe, Hamed was able to survive thanks to some higher invididual scores, as well as a better cumulative score, eliminating Rnb in 13th place.
ROUND 4 - MOTHER! In one of my personal favourite rounds of the season so far, any song by a mother was eligible. Perhaps in fear of the season’s second double elimination, many contestants sent more well-known, established artists compared to the previous two rounds, giving us a number of classics from Aretha Franklin, Björk, Madonna and others.
Even with an outbreak of Abbaschandposting and fears of elimination following an announcement that Brocka would be judging, the round continued as normal. We saw Hamed become the first contestant with two FCOs and first-time top 3 finishes for District and BB, while Recordyear, Will and Josh landed in the bottom 3. Their three cumulative scores were close, but Recordyear was the one to escape elimination.
ROUND 5 - 11+ LETTERSSSSS Round 5 gave us a unique theme, with any song sent needing at least one word with 11+ letters in its title. The interview for Round 4 saw the beef between Hamed and the rest of the cast continue, with Will believing he would leave next, as well as accusations by the interview host themself that he was the reason behind Pulse’s frequent crashes.
Hamed defied this when the results were posted, becoming the first person in Last Stand history with three FCOs by Round 5. Mayman also finished at the top, rebounding to the top 2 from the previous week, while BB finished in 3rd again. Previous frontrunner Wheat fell into the bottom 2 for the first time against Drem, but stronger weekly and cumulative scores kept them safe, causing Drem to finish in 10th place.
ROUND 6 - RATEYOURMUSIC FLOPS Round 6’s theme sparked fear in some and hope in others, as it ruled out all songs on Rate YourMusic with an average rating of 3.20 or higher. Hamed discovered that many of Ava Max’s songs unfortunately did not qualify for this round, while Walt insisted that none of the songs sent existed, since they were not bolded on RYM. The guest judge also had contestants scared again, with M5 having been selected.
The judging gave us the same top 2 as in the previous round, just reversed, giving Mayman his second FCO. Wheat remained in the bottom 3 but pulled ahead of Recordyear and Woods, with the former receiving the lowest score of the season so far (a 1.0 from M5 for “Drunk Girls”). However, Woods’ lack of higher placements left him with the lower cumulative score, sending him out of the game in 9th place.
ROUND 7 - QUESTIONS FOR THE CULTURE We began this round with an extremely important moment for the culture, as “How Did You Know?” by DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ was made the featured song, with a theme of songs whose titles are questions. Some obvious picks were avoided, but the song list still featured classics such as “What Have I Done To Deserve This?”, “Isn’t She Lovely” and “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”. Unfortunately, “Can The Sub_Bass Speak?” was not sent.
After finishing second to Hamed in round 4, we saw District receive FCO for the first time! BB also reached a new peak of 2nd. Despite concerns over Aero’s score for “Isn’t She Lovely”, Mayman was able to avoid the bottom 3, while Wheat and Recordyear fell into the bottom 2 for the second and third time respectively. Recordyear had a marginally higher weekly score, but his cumulative score wasn’t enough to avoid elimination this time.
ROUND 8 - THE ELEMENTS Having made it more than halfway through the season, the final 7 were tasked with sending a song that mentioned any of the four elements (fire, water, earth, air) in its title or lyrics. A wide variety of songs were sent, with songs from Radiohead, Kero Kero Bonito, Eurhythmics and the Mario Kart 64 soundtrack.
Having claimed every other position in the top 5 already, BB finally got their first win with “Firestarter”, beating Wheat’s comeback by just 0.4 points! Despite his concerns, Hamed just about avoided the bottom 2 with “Rainbow Road”, leaving Lyhom and Walt at risk of being eliminated…
In a shocking twist, Samba chose to make Round 8 a non-elimination round due to Lyhom and Walt’s cumulative scores being tied, with the stipulation that one of them is guaranteed to be eliminated in round 9 prior to the normal elimination.
ROUND 9 - LAST STAND DEBUT Round 9 is one of the more unique themes we’ve had in Last Stand, where any song sent must be by an artist who’s never been sent in any season of LS before. Even so, we ended up with one of the strongest rounds I’ve ever seen, and with a double elimination on the horizon it really seems like anyone could be going!
And in one of Pulse’s stranger trends, myself and the remaining contestants have all donned Lana Del Rey avatars over the last few days, but in preparation for what? We’ll have to see…

Following the recap, we have a set of interviews with the seven remaining contestants*, formatted so they're a little easier to read (with full transcripts of each one at the bottom of this post). *walt's interview will be happening shortly and will be added to this post How do you feel about your performance in the game up to now? Mayman: i'm feeling pretty good, i've been pretty consistent so far which is better than i've done in prior seasons. that bottom 2 record hasn't been increased yet this season thankfully
lyhom: pretty satisfied! I went into this season just trying to see how I'd do without overthinking stuff at first, I honestly was just happy that I even passed qualifying lol
Hamed: I feel like this is my strongest season yet for sure and am very proud of how well I've done while staying true to sending songs I love.
District: this is definitely new terrain for me, I think my furthest performance before this season was 9th place so I’m just trying to have a mindset of having fun at this point while keeping my head in the game. really competitive top 7 too. looking forward to it
wheat: I feel...ok to good about my performance so far. I've definitely improved since my last time here, so it feels good to make it as far as I have, even with a few bottom placements under my belt. The future winner does need to show some vulnerability and lip sync every now and again, you know
BB: I actually feel really good about it. Going into this season, I expected to make it to the halfway point at best so I've exceeded all of my expectations.
walt: I wish I had a FCO but I'm satisfied! Finishing bottom two last round and being in danger this round is nerve-wracking, though
What’s your favourite song you’ve sent so far? Mayman: i'd have to go with my casting round pick "cellophane" which has been on rotation a lot in the last few months. the minimalist nature of the song is just so good. "didn't i do it for you?" cleared
lyhom: that's actually kind of hard to answer for me since I like everything that I've sent so far a lot, but I think that "your dog" is what stands out to me right now
Hamed: My favorite song I've sent so far is probably [the song he sent this round], such a great pop bop, well written, and its from an album I love to death.
District: I’d probably say Well Rested – I had that one on a general shortlist for a while, whether to keep it for a long song round (hopefully that’s not coming 😬) but an opportunity to send it arose and I was coming off of a win so was comfortable sending a more left-field pick. plus it’s a banger
wheat: Futuristic Imagination in the 11+ letter round. I definitely had other picks I could've sent that round that I'd be more confident in, but that's honestly one of my all-time favorites, so I went with it
BB: Probably Cherry-Colured Funk, but SpottieOttieDopalicious and the song I sent this round are really close behind
walt: my pick for this round.
If you don't end up winning, who else are you rooting for to take it? Mayman: i want everyone here to do well but i would love to see district take home the crown. he's someone who i wish could play in more pulse games but i understand that he is pretty busy so im glad to see him here
lyhom: I think that everyone left would be pretty deserving, but wheat's someone who has a pretty unique taste that also lines up with mine a lot, so I'll give a special shout-out to them (also iirc the last time they signed up they finished at like, 13th, so it would also be a pretty good comeback)
Hamed: My top picks are Lyhom or Wheat!
District: lowkey rooting for BB. very great and consistent performance so far, so he’ll be one to watch out for!
wheat: I should've done a bit more research before this interview and reviewed everyone's picks up to this point, but I think lyhom & hamed have some of my favorite picks so far.
BB: I think Lyhom and Wheatsquares have sent some really cool and unexpected picks this season, so it'd be fun to see one of them win this season
walt: my bestie mayman ❤️ though i feel like wheat has had a great underdog arc so i'll root for them too
Who do you expect will win the game? Mayman: im not sure who wins tbh but I could see lyhom, bb, and hamed getting to that final round. of course i would love to be there as well
lyhom: I feel like mayman and bb have had some of the best results so far since they've been FCO at least once and also have never particularly low, but district has also been pretty consistent throughout, and even though he's taken some risks that got him low, you can't forget about hamed and how he has the most FCOs yet. anything could happen though, the beauty of last stand is that it only takes one risk that doesn't pay off to end you, but you also can struggle with a few rounds but still recover
Hamed: There is only one answer to that question and ur currently talking to him.
District: I think BB or Mayman could win the game. they’ve had no BTM2 performances so far, so their overall score is gonna help them out when it comes down to the wire
wheat: Well, I have to put on extra confidence to materialize my win, so naturally I'll say myself. But I do see BB and Hamed as my biggest competition, BB especially has been growing a lot the last couple rounds.
BB: Just based upon the progress chart, Hamed seems to be the frontrunner right now but I really wouldn't be surprised to see anyone left win it all.
walt: hamed. they've been consistently killing the game all season i fear bb has also been one to watch as of late
Any other thoughts on the season so far? Mayman: i think this is the most fun i've had during any last stand season i've participated in so far. i like that all of the contestants are all like in it together if that makes sense? (see: lana pfps)
lyhom: I've definitely had fun so far, I'll definitely be willing to sign up again, either as a contestant or judge
Hamed: The competition has been stacked its so crazy. Walter and Mayman need to go home already. BB mama let ur voice be heard! District ur ass gonna get popped once this season is done. And I crave baked macaroni and cheese.
District: lana
wheat: It's been fun! I have no excitement in my life, so I'm glad that Last Stand has been here to fill the void :) Really though, the competition has gotten super tight towards the end here, and it is genuinely really tense to see who goes out week to week when everyone's on the top of their game & being really creative. I'm having fun with the roleplay element too
walt: Bernie's a male who is into other males
{Mayman interview} samo: hey mayman, congrats on making the top 7! how do you feel about your performance in the game up to now? Mayman: thank you! i'm feeling pretty good, i've been pretty consistent so far which is better than i've done in prior seasons. that bottom 2 record hasn't been increased yet this season thankfully samo: you've definitely had some great rounds this season what's your favourite song you've sent so far? Mayman: i'd have to go with my casting round pick "cellophane" which has been on rotation a lot in the last few months. the minimalist nature of the song is just so good. "didn't i do it for you?" cleared samo: yesss it's so good if you don't end up winning, who else are you rooting for to take it? Mayman: i want everyone here to do well but i would love to see district take home the crown. he's someone who i wish could play in more pulse games but i understand that he is pretty busy so im glad to see him here samo: i agree, it's cool getting to see district on pulse since he doesn't have as much time for it (too busy being clever) and who do you expect will win the game? (can be the same person lol) Mayman: im not sure who wins tbh but I could see lyhom, bb, and hamed getting to that final round. of course i would love to be there as well samo: me too, i honestly think everyone has a chance here, you've all had some really strong rounds by now any other thoughts on the season so far? Mayman: i think this is the most fun i've had during any last stand season i've participated in so far. i like that all of the contestants are all like in it together if that makes sense? (see: lana pfps) samo: i know what you mean, there's definitely a sense of community with a lot of the people taking part this season and i really like that thanks for doing this interview mayman! can't wait to chat later in the group interview Mayman: thank you for having me! {lyhom interview} samo: hi lyhom, congrats on making the top 7! how do you feel about your performance in the game up to now? lyhom: pretty satisfied! I went into this season just trying to see how I'd do without overthinking stuff at first, I honestly was just happy that I even passed qualifying lol samo: you're right, getting this far is pretty awesome in itself. what's your favourite song you've sent so far? lyhom: that's actually kind of hard to answer for me since I like everything that I've sent so far a lot, but I think that "your dog" is what stands out to me right now samo: that's great to hear, i love when people send songs that they also personally really enjoy if you don't end up winning, who else are you rooting for to take it? lyhom: I think that everyone left would be pretty deserving, but wheat's someone who has a pretty unique taste that also lines up with mine a lot, so I'll give a special shout-out to them (also iirc the last time they signed up they finished at like, 13th, so it would also be a pretty good comeback) samo: i'd love to see wheat win too, they've got some of the coolest taste i've seen on pulse (though at this point i'd agree that everyone has an argument for winning) who do you expect will win the game? (this can also be wheat if you want) lyhom: I feel like mayman and bb have had some of the best results so far since they've been FCO at least once and also have never particularly low, but district has also been pretty consistent throughout, and even though he's taken some risks that got him low, you can't forget about hamed and how he has the most FCOs yet. anything could happen though, the beauty of last stand is that it only takes one risk that doesn't pay off to end you, but you also can struggle with a few rounds but still recover samo: same, i really think it's anyone's game at this point. any other thoughts on the season so far? lyhom: I've definitely had fun so far, I'll definitely be willing to sign up again, either as a contestant or judge samo: i would love to see it, i think you'd make a great judge thanks for doing this interview lyhom! i hope you'll stick around for the group one {Hamed interview} samo: hi hamed, congrats on making the top 7! how do you feel about your performance in the game up to now? Hamed: I feel like this is my strongest season yet for sure and am very proud of how well I've done while staying true to sending songs I love. samo: that's cool to hear, i think you've had a great season too. what's your favourite song you've sent so far? Hamed: My favorite song I've sent so far is probably [the song he sent this round], such a great pop bop, well written, and its from an album I love to death. samo: [comment that makes it obvious which song he sent this round] if you don't end up winning, who else are you rooting for to take it? Hamed: My top picks are Lyhom or Wheat! samo: i'm rooting for them too but tbh i'd love to see anyone left win at this point! Hamed: I don't concur with that but good for you! samo: who do you expect will win the game? (can be the same as the last question) Hamed: There is only one answer to that question and ur currently talking to him. samo: i see. any other thoughts on the season so far? Hamed: The competition has been stacked its so crazy. Walter and Mayman need to go home already. BB mama let ur voice be heard! District ur ass gonna get popped once this season is done. And I crave baked macaroni and cheese. samo: well i agree with that first sentence! thanks for doing this interview hamed, i can't wait to see what you make of the rest of the game Hamed: Thank you, you'll see me win this whole thing and finally get my long overdue cheques from Ms. Samba for all I've done for his mid ass game. {District interview}samo: hi district, congrats on making the top 7! how do you feel about your performance in the game up to now?
District: hey, thank you! this is definitely new terrain for me, I think my furthest performance before this season was 9th place so I’m just trying to have a mindset of having fun at this point while keeping my head in the game. really competitive top 7 too. looking forward to it
samo: that’s great to hear! what's your favourite song you've sent so far?
District: let me take a look lol one second I’d probably say Well Rested – I had that one on a general shortlist for a while, whether to keep it for a long song round (hopefully that’s not coming 😬) but an opportunity to send it arose and I was coming off of a win so was comfortable sending a more left-field pick. plus it’s a banger
samo: it’s such a bop, I’d forgotten about it but I’m glad you sent it if you don't end up winning, who else are you rooting for to take it?
District: lowkey rooting for BB. very great and consistent performance so far, so he’ll be one to watch out for!
samo: I agree, I really think BB could win the whole thing with how consistent they’ve been. who do you expect will win the game? (can be the same person lol)
District: I think BB or Mayman could win the game. they’ve had no BTM2 performances so far, so their overall score is gonna help them out when it comes down to the wire
samo: you’re right, they’ve been the most consistent with doing well which will definitely help later any other thoughts on the season so far?
District: lana
samo: lana.
District: lana.
samo: thanks for joining me for this interview district! can’t wait to see you play the rest of the game
District: no prob, and thanks for taking this time to chat for everyone to hear my thoughts. will be keeping an eye out for the rest of the interviews! :) {wheat interview}samo: hi wheat, congrats on making the top 7! how do you feel about your performance in the game up to now?
wheat: Hi samo, hope you are doing well & thanks! I feel...ok to good about my performance so far. I've definitely improved since my last time here, so it feels good to make it as far as I have, even with a few bottom placements under my belt. The future winner does need to show some vulnerability and lip sync every now and again, you know
samo: so true... what's your favourite song you've sent so far?
wheat: Futuristic Imagination in the 11+ letter round. I definitely had other picks I could've sent that round that I'd be more confident in, but that's honestly one of my all-time favorites, so I went with it
samo: i checked that one out after you sent it and thought it was really cool, i'm really happy it didn't end up eliminating you if you don't end up winning, who else are you rooting for to take it?
wheat: I should've done a bit more research before this interview and reviewed everyone's picks up to this point, but I think lyhom & hamed have some of my favorite picks so far.
samo: i agree, i think hamed's had some awesome picks here (i mean he's finished in the top 2 four times already)
wheat: Yeah he's definitely getting a winner's edit, with that track record I kinda expect a win and it's well-deserved Winner's edit doesn't really make sense in this context does it lol. Hypothetically, you know what I mean. He's doing well
samo: his moment who do you expect will win the game? (can be the same person as before)
wheat: Well, I have to put on extra confidence to materialize my win, so naturally I'll say myself. But I do see BB and Hamed as my biggest competition, BB especially has been growing a lot the last couple rounds.
samo: oh yeah, BB's got great momentum here and you're right about BB and Hamed i think, i crunched the numbers and using the conventional RPDR scoring they're tied for the best track record
wheat: Oh wow a tie, that's exciting
samo: wait i lied it's BB and Mayman Hamed is right behind any other thoughts on the season so far?
wheat: It's been fun! I have no excitement in my life, so I'm glad that Last Stand has been here to fill the void :) Really though, the competition has gotten super tight towards the end here, and it is genuinely really tense to see who goes out week to week when everyone's on the top of their game & being really creative. I'm having fun with the roleplay element too
samo: i get what you mean, i've gotten really invested in this now that i'm done with uni until October thanks for doing this interview wheat! it's been loads of fun getting to talk about the game with you
wheat: Thanks for hosting! {BB interview}samo: hi BB! how do you feel about your performance in the game up to now?
BB: I actually feel really good about it. Going into this season, I expected to make it to the halfway point at best so I've exceeded all of my expectations.

BB: Just based upon the progress chart, Hamed seems to be the frontrunner right now but I really wouldn't be surprised to see anyone left win it all.
samo: thanks for doing this interview BB! can’t wait to see you play the rest of the game {walt interview} samo: hi walt, congrats on making the top 7! how do you feel about your performance in the game up to now? walt: I wish I had a FCO but I'm satisfied! Finishing bottom two last round and being in danger this round is nerve-wracking, though samo: it does seem like a scary position, I hope you can come back from it! what's your favourite song you've sent so far? walt: my pick for this round. samo: i love that song too! I think you’ve had some great picks this game and that’s one of them for sure if you don't end up winning, who else are you rooting for to take it? walt: my bestie mayman ❤️ samo: we love the support I think mayman would make a cool winner too, he’s gotten close before walt: though i feel like wheat has had a great underdog arc so i'll root for them too samo: I agree, I’ve been rooting for them for a while who do you expect will win the game? (can be the same person) walt: hamed. they've been consistently killing the game all season i fear samo: (except that one time he almost got eliminated over rnb) walt: oh he tanked bb has also been one to watch as of late samo: it’s been fun seeing BB slowly get better with every round any other thoughts on the season so far? walt: Bernie's a male who is into other males samo: thank you for making this such a great interview walt! I can’t wait to follow along for the rest of the season walt:i can't wait for you to see me WIN

To close out the night, we've got the famed group interview, where I gathered some of Waffle House's most slay workers to chat about the season so far (amongst other things...). samo: welcome, Lana, Lana, Lana, Lana, Lana, Lana and Lana, to the Last Stand Season 6 group interview! (sponsored by Waffle House, Florence, AL) Tonight is an opportunity for all of us to discuss the game so far, as well as our thoughts on the other contestants...I'll start by saying that you've all done extremely well to get this far, surviving tyrannical judges and an only slightly more forgiving set of contestants, and you should all be proud to make up the final 7 of the season!
Mayman: It's nice to be here Samo.
District: is it? nice to be here? I'm really enjoying my time so far thank you Samo.
Hamed: I'm ecstatic to be here and be a frontrunner to win this season, but yes tyrannical judges is so true, Reputainbow has verbally harassed me on multiple occasions!
samo: having survived eight rounds already, what have been some of your favourite moments of this season?
Hamed: Sending Rainbow Road and not dying for wanting to groove to one of the most celebratory songs of all time.
wheat: being able to terrorize the general public with excessive use of pink comic sans. (and generally doing pretty well! i'm having a fun time with this and doing better than i did last time, it's nice to have a challenge win)
samo: well let me tell you that your roleplay posts are very much appreciated on this end
District: my favourite moments have been when hamed placed btm2
District: sorry everyone i'm feeling a hostile and negative energy atm let's change that
Hamed: No keep it I respect it.
Hamed: My other favorite moment has to be outlasting and outperforming multiple of my many many many detractors and I WILL continue to do so. All I know is I will be pulling up with the 🪡 once this season wraps up and we ain't on camera.
District: um to answer the question, one of my favourite moments was getting a win under my belt. my last stand performance has not been great and this is the furthest I've made it, so I'm just happy to be here at this point! :)
wheat: the roleplay element has been fun for me in general, i like that it allows for shitposting or whatever for points, it's a good time & i like to take the opportunity to stand out when i can
samo: speaking of detractors...i heard from someone with the "best taste on Pulse" that there's a conspiracy afoot! as the people who've gotten furthest in this game, what are our thoughts?
Hamed: Omg BB is typing hi bestie
walt: I think my proudest accomplishment is getting everyone to make their PFP Lana haha
BB: hard for me to think of any specific moments but getting my first win was a really nice feeling
lyhom: mfw I got the notification thinking that it was a new non us hits list
BB: hi!
lyhom: anyways I think my favourite moment was "adar newlan" getting second in its round despite it being a discovery for everyone, was really cool to see how much the judges liked it
Mayman: what is the conspiracy ? laughs nervously I'm not sure but can I just bring up how Avatar is great, his love of "Walkin" by Denzel Curry inspires me everyday to do better in this game
samo: "drem: I had a fun time, it's always fun being in these regular games with the other pulse members 😄...BUT you know and I know I should've gone the distance. I won't say who (yet) but there's clearly a conspiracy against me, I should still be in, it should be the finals, and I should be champion!"
Hamed: Drem just be saying shit.
walt: drem is just a messy hoe he suffers from drementia let him be.
District: not the drem-shitting
Hamed: It must be true if Walter and me can agree on something.
samo: with eight people already eliminated, who would we most want to bring back? (for entertainment or gameplay purposes, it's your choice)
walt: gabe
Mayman: Brocka.
walt: “gabe” Mayman: wheatsquares33 Care to comment?
wheat: gabe for entertainment, recordyear for gameplay
walt: wait brocka for sure if anyone who tried out counts
samo: i didn't think about that lmao
Hamed: Not you gaming to get gabe eliminated a third time. Anyways I want my bestie Wrip back!
walt: we don't need that wench
samo: wrip slander? in my interview?
walt: right in front of my salad?
BB: i feel like wrip was eliminated way too early tbh
Hamed: Says the wench still occupying a spot in this game despite deserving to serve OUT last round.
walt: well i beat lyhom solely on my pick for that round's score
Hamed: We stand with Lyhom, I love Canada!
lyhom: I don't
Hamed: Oop let me do an rnb, I do not love Canada!
wheat: gabe is funny and i've incorporated phrases like "times new roman ass bitch" and "certified freak 7 days a week and NOT in a good way" into my daily speech, he is missed
Hamed: Ms. BB understood the assignment. ❤️
samo: perhaps a fan vote could've been used to break the tie...
Hamed: So true
samo: or whatever samba used for gp/mayman in season 4
District: mayhaps the lower score for that round would’ve worked well as a tiebreaker
walt: next question: are you circumcised?
samo: and now, a personal question for you all: are you the drama? if not you, then who?
walt: i don't think i'm the drama i defend myself from personal attacks e.g. drem calling me a twink
Hamed: I own up to being the most entertaining bitch in the game still, New Yorkers truly boast that main character energy.
walt: most egotistical bitch perhaps
Hamed: I'm guilty of that too and I don't mind, I got it all.
District: i'm an unproblematic contestant
District: for the most part
Mayman: Me too
walt: hamed is the drama for sure
lyhom: I'm unproblematic (or boring if you look at it like that lmao)
Hamed: Not the self drag
samo: you're funny though so you're not boring
wheat: i wish i was the drama more but i'm not actually combative enough to pull it off
Hamed: We love Lyhom.
lyhom: “I'm unproblematic (or boring if you look at it like that lmao)” BB: yep this is just how i feel about myself
District: what kinda drama is there like
samo: hamed is just really trying for Axis of Evil 2023
District: hamed ^
walt: jenglisbe
Hamed: I want that trophy Me really quoting an average tier Charli song In my DEFENSE, I've been vilified from the start by like half the eliminated contestants.
walt: or you have a victim complex
Mayman: this
Hamed: I will not confirm nor deny that until my lawyer and psychiatrist are both present
Hamed: Wait maybe I shouldn't have said psychiatrist
walt: HamedM1 💔 is that song a hot sara bareilles cover
Hamed: Thats King of Anything you idiot
walt: same difference tomato tomato
Hamed: Do Sara Bareilles stans have a name I used to be one a lifetime ago
samo: this is 100% going in the preview
Hamed: Now why are you exposing me like that...
samo: dw they'll be anonymous until the actual interview goes up
Hamed: I'd rather you call me a racial slur
District: um
District: i love how this is like a group bc we made it far on a game about submitting good songs but hamed is listening to madison beer
samo: scalped him omg
District: ik he about to come for me fr
Hamed: Her album is at 3.49 on rym, she is ACCLAIMED
Mayman: drag her
Hamed: Nvm its a 3.44 now, District wins.
samo: this has been awesome but I have to head off now, there's much to do tomorrow morning. you guys can carry on talking if you want
walt91 added ClaudiaQ to the group.
Mayman: Oh wow!
walt: bestie
Mayman: Let's discuss who we want out next! Say I if you want Hamed to go next
walt: Mayman male who is into other males
samo: the way I almost made this a question
Mayman: I
samo: and is Claudia a member of the Florence Waffle House team?
District: walt's just saying he thinks he'll go out next.
Hamed: Help I forgot BB was here Anyways Samba is a fat cunt and that's all I have left to say.
samo: thank you samba for hosting this season!
District: let’s take a moment to say samba has been killing it
samo: right
lyhom: the two genders
Mayman: samb not even being in the chat related to his own game 💀
samom added sambalada to the group.
District: me “rushing” results is only bc I’m really excited to not be eliminated
Mayman: same
Hamed: There he is
walt: remove him
District: “let’s take a moment to say samba has been killing it” walt: LIES
Hamed: Samba needs to be put down.
District: delete it fat
Mayman: why is samb grayed out
District: doesn’t that mean ur not friends
samo: I think it means he’s not online
Hamed: Nope cause Mayman is grayed out for me + we somehow are friends I think it means offline
walt: i lied
Mayman: yeah but lyhom is offline and he's not grayed
Hamed: Ms. Claudia is also grayed out on my end
walt: claudia, lyhom, mayman, wheat r grayed for me samba isn't grayed but there isn't an online or offline status
Hamed: Can't believe ur beefing with Claudia?
District: if you’re grayed it means ur hair is graying 💅
Hamed: False
walt:
Hamed: Stress these past few years been making me get some white hairs already
lyhom: I have like one singular white hair in my beard and then nothing else so far
District: silence more silent than bongos chart performance
wheat: i wouldn't mind being a bit gray i think i could pull it off, but i guess i'm just too youthful i'm trying my best to work but the camera crew has taken over my workspace so i'm just hiding in a corner
District: wheat hiding from the chipotle-like burrito
lyhom: throwback to the time I went to work without realizing that some sort of biker convention or some shit was going to come an hour later there had to have been at least 100 people there and they all looked the same
District: “walt's just saying he thinks he'll go out next.” walt: Imma quote this post so you could eat your words. Bitch you don't even know what's coming.
samba: what is this don't ask me to be a lana

== ROUND 9 - FACE-OFF RESULTS ==Lyhom and Walt, both of you were in danger of elimination last round. This round one of you has to leave. I think both of you has done a great job to ensure your spot here, but as I said already, only one of you will continue to be part of top 6.
So the person who has to leave right now is...
LYHOM, I'm sorry you are officially eliminated.
Gordon Lightfoot - "If You Could Read My Mind"
Reputainbow: "🦀. The more I listened to this, the more I liked it. The strings sound really good --- it has that 70s charm to it." (8.2) Aero: (6.7) Trilogy: (8.6) MoD: "It's a pretty nice song overall, but I find some of the songwriting too cheesy for me to rate higher." (7.2) Filthy: (8.1) Samba: "Oh okay this is beautiful. Love the arrangements and songwriting." (7.9) Decadevia: "i’ve always loved songs like these, but something happened over the past year that made me love them even more. the instrumentation is so pretty and i love lightfoot’s vocal performance on this. gonna have to put this on my road trip playlist. would be perfect listening to this while seeing the pretty mountains, greenery, and/or billboards explaining why i am an child-grooming abomination blur in front of me." (9.2) APM: (7.8) JUDGES: 63.7 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0 WEEKLY SCORE: 65.7
I really appreciate that until the very end you are still sending daring choices. This might not have ended in the best possible result for you but it's always something I'm looking forward to with you being here. I hope you had fun, thank you for your participation!

== ROUND 9 - RESULTS ==Welcome to the ninth elimination ceremony. By the end of today, only 5 of you will remain in the competition.
Without further ado, the FCO for this round is…
HAMED!Lily Allen - "The Fear"
You return and win your fourth FCO! This is made with a big lead over the others too, you truly dominate this round.
Reputainbow: "I already mentioned earlier on Discord, but why the hell is there a B-side to this song called “F*g Hag” 😭 But anyways I’ve really loved this song for quite a while. Magical chorus." (9.1) Aero: (10) Trilogy: (8.9) MoD: "What a track. Prime example of how to mix catchy pop melodies with clever lyricism. The production gives it kind of a timeless vibe too, which I love." (9.2) Filthy: (8.4) Samba: "I love this song. The production is subdued but also very infectious. Add Lily's clever lyricism and delivery, making a great pop song." (8.8) Decadevia: "This song is a mainstay for when i have to pull songs out of my ass to listen to around my family. I love the pacing of this song and lily allen’s vocal performance here is amazing. The lyrics could’ve so easily fallen into preachy territory, and yet they have a level of realism to them that they don’t. It's genuinely impressive given how many pop songs try to go for a similar message and yet fail due to the preachiness. (“victoria’s secret” and “not your barbie girl” comes to mind)." (9.4) APM: (8.4) JUDGES: 72.2 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0 WEEKLY SCORE: 74.2
The second best is…
MAYMAN!Childish Gambino - "Redbone"
Another great performance from you!
Reputainbow: "A very deserving winner of the 2016 RYM rankdown. I’m shocked Childish Gambino hasn’t been submitted before." (8.4) Aero: (8.1) Trilogy: (9.1) MoD: "What's there to say that hasn't been said before for this one. Captivating vocals, great melody, and the psychedelic instrumentation along with the gospel backing vocals are beautiful." (9.5) Filthy: (9.0) Samba: "A smooth bop. Still kinda perplex me (some) people care so much about the vocals. It's clearly a great stylistic choice tbh." (7.4) Decadevia: "The synths on this song are so pretty and glover’s vocals on this are the perfect level of unsettling and creepy for it to work. certified hood classic." (8.6) APM: "I’ve always really liked this but I hate to admit that I didn’t learn about the outro until like a year after it charted. Made me like the song a lot more lol. Genius choice." (9.8) JUDGES: 69.9 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0 WEEKLY SCORE: 71.9
Next…
BBWu-Tang Clan - "Da Mystery Of Chessboxin'"
Reputainbow: "A bit surprised this was chosen over “C.R.E.A.M.”. Nonetheless, this was really good. Wu-Tang Clan are great at what they do." (8.2) Aero: (9.3) Trilogy: (8.2) MoD: "I feel like this song really showcases why Wu-Tang were as important as they were. Greatly innovative beat along with each MC coming in with A level bars." (9.0) Filthy: (8.7) Samba: "A daring choice. One that's also a banger. Great performance." (8.4) Decadevia: "ngl, there are a number of songs i prefer on “enter the wu-tang (36 chambers)”, but this is still a banger. There's a reason this album is a classic and songs like these are why. They're 'cool' personified." (8.4) APM: (9.5) JUDGES: 69.7 | ROLEPLAY: 1.6
WEEKLY SCORE: 71.3
The last name to escape the bottom two is…
WALTTalking Heads - "This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)"
Reputainbow: "Talking Heads is another artist I’m surprised hasn’t been submitted to Last Stand. I’m not “27th best song of all time” crazy about this but it’s still really good." (8.1) Aero: (9.9) Trilogy: (9.3) MoD: "Simply amazing track. The instrumentation is one of the catchiest I've heard and it really evokes a beautiful scenario along with some great lyrics, truly a lovely track." (9.7) Filthy: "It's good, but you can't convince me this wasn't sent because of its rym rating." (7.1) Samba: "Yeah I can't deny this is a whole bop. The instrumentation is so infectious and this has some great songwriting for making it a really catchy song." (8.6) Decadevia: "Honestly, going into this round, this has never been one of my favorite talking heads songs. if this was “once in a lifetime” or “born under punches (the heat goes on)”, i would’ve just handed this a 10, no questions asked. But this one had an uphill battle ahead of me… and unfortunately, i don’t think it stuck the landing for me. The synth line is addicting, sure but i don’t know. It’s a good song, but it isn’t quite a *great* song imo and doesn’t match any of the best this band has to offer imo. sorry." (7.2) APM: (8.6) JUDGES: 68.5 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0
WEEKLY SCORE: 70.5
Which means the bottom two is…
DISTRICT & WHEAT

So happy I got to send a song from one of my favorite pop records growing up, The Fear really is the perfect blend of immaculate pop bop but also has a mind and message behind all the sweetness.

The last person to make it to the next round is... DISTRICTThe Temper Trap - "Sweet Disposition"
Reputainbow: "This one needed a 2nd listen. This feels like a song that could’ve been really big in an alternative universe of the early 2010s. I enjoy the big music influences the most." (7.6) Aero: (6.0) Trilogy: (10) MoD: "One of my favorite songs of the decade. I feel like it encapsulates nostalgia as a whole. The guitar work is fantastic at this, building up all the emotions and then releasing into one of the best choruses I've heard, with the vocals really sounding like they're trying to reach something that is gone, not in a sad way, but instead appreciating it." (10) Filthy: (7.5) Samba: "This song always remind me of being a teenager staying up late after midnight watching films on TV and there's a car commercial with this song. That might sound like shade, but no, I've always LOVED this song and the day I rediscovered this song again as its own entire thing was one of the best days of me listening to music." (9.8) Decadevia: "…i don’t know what to do with this one. I feel like i should like this more than i do and yet, it just kinda falls in the middle for me. Decent 2000s indie rock, but that’s really all i can say. Especially since there’s many songs similar to this and i never felt that this song bloomed into itself." (5.0) APM: (7.5) JUDGES: 63.4 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0 WEEKLY SCORE: 65.4
OVERALL SCORE: 581.0
Your choice this week is divisive among the judges. You have been doing well and this is only your first slip, so we believe you can still pick yourself up and make it to the end. Congratulations you're in the top 5!
Which means...
WHEAT, I'm sorry but you've been eliminated.
Bag Raiders - "Shooting Stars"
Reputainbow: "I hate that I immediately thought about the horrible “Swish Swish” music video when this started playing. Fortunately, on its own, it’s a banger. The second half is especially really good." (8.2) Aero: (6.7) Trilogy: "Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever want to live through 2017 again." (7.0) MoD: "I'm a big fan of how it creates such a distinct atmosphere, it really feels like taking a ride late at night. The vocals compliment so well with what's going on in the background, kinda M83-esque." (9.0) Filthy: (7.0) Samba: "Iconic bop. I can see how it can sound annoying but thankfully I don't fint it that way." (8.2) Decadevia: "Meme culture between 2017-2019 is a little cringe to look back on, especially for someone in my situation and this song is a relic of that for me. That said, removing it from the context, this song *has* merit and is solid in it of itself, but not enough to really justify a high mark, especially when other songs from this whole movement in australia are much much better (looking at you “into the galaxy”). sorry :(" (5.3) APM: "I’ve heard this a lot from some meme but I can’t remember which one lol. It’s pretty solid." (7.3) JUDGES: 58.7 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0
WEEKLY SCORE: 60.7
OVERALL SCORE: 572.2
You have one hell of a run here. You came back after getting eliminated early in your previous game, and at first you seemed to come in at full force until the last few rounds where you started to falter and this round is the end for you. I really appreciate your participation, thank you for playing!

I was going to make a whole multi-panel elimination ceremony for myself here where all the girls in the back are Lana and I'm a little field of wheat and I have an exit line and everything, but it's just a BIT too much work for me & my nonexistent photoshop skills (and I still don't know a good exit line).
But anyway, I cobbled together this image before giving up, and I'm not about to let my "hard work" go to waste, so y'all have to be subjected to this monstrosity as well.Anyway excited to judge next round!
