Been waiting for new music for a while! Can't believe it's been 3 and a half years since Here And Now was released.
I imagine he sings this on the CMA Awards tomorrow and then it ships to radio after the performance.

Yes, he will be part of the tribute to Jimmy Buffett, along with Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson and Mac McAnally.

Judging by the preview this lead single will be in the vein of "Who You'd be Today" in 2005 and "Don't Blink" in 2007. A reflective song about life.
He's so good in this exercise. Even thou I was expecting an Arena Rock song.

I like Kenny a lot more than many on this board, but I felt like his vocals here were really rough. It was startling to me, honestly.

The verse feels a bit weird to me in that his vocal does not sound like syncing with the instrument. Still, I do enjoy the verse melody a lot. The chorus melody has room for improvement and it sounds like a weaker version of Get Along, but overall, decent effort from KC, definitely an improvement from the previous single.

Heard this on the radio. Definitely feels like a “There Goes My Life” & “Don’t Blink” kinda song. Doubt that it will be as big as those two songs though.

“Don’t Blink” debuted at #16 on Billboard Country Airplay (then Hot Country Songs) back in late August of 2007. Ties Kenny’s second highest debut at radio. “Feel Like a Rock Star” (Kenny/Tim) and “We Are Never Getting Back Together” (Taylor) both debuted at #13 in 2012. Tied for the second highest in chart history. The record is the #1 debut in early September, 2007 for “More Than a Memory” by Garth.

I remember "Don't Blink" debuting at #16, and it being a huge feat because it was the album's second single, following lead single "Never Wanted Nothing More" getting 5 weeks at #1. That was certainly Kenny's peak.

"Never Wanted Nothing More" took 8 weeks to reach #1 and stayed there for five weeks. It went so fast it allowed the label to do the same thing with "Don't Blink," which also took just 8 weeks to reach #1 and stayed there for six weeks (Mediabase). Kenny spent 14 weeks at #1 in 2007 on Mediabase ("Beer in Mexico", three weeks at #1). Definitely the height of his radio career, which is saying something.

And I remember suddenly he surprised us with the album Lucky Old Sun He was really at the best of his game back then. Even now he's still good.

Before streaming and everything took over, so it allowed his album to open very big as well. I remember that fall going off to grad school and buying a few big country releases each week when they came out.

The beginning of the chorus melody here reminds me so much of another song but I can’t quite remember which one.
As a big Kenny fan, this is just decent to me but I’m sure it will grow on me
