20. Portland, Oregon - Loretta Lynn f/ Jack White
Love the Jack Whites guitars, but wasn't sure about Loretta Lynn's cameo here, or was Jack White the cameo?. whatever, the case this was just a little too much contrast for me.
19. Cannonball - Damien Rice
I seriously don't got the PULSE hard-on here. At least I only have one more tanker to go.
18. World on Fire - Sarah McLachlan
I like this one. I like her vocals quite a bit.
17. I'm Shakin' - Rooney
Wish it would have finished in the top 10. Took this one top 5 on my weekly music lists. My favorite from this band is one that didn't even chart, but it did get a MV. "I Should Have Been After You". Very bombastic 70's Struts style with a kick ass progressive synth solo. #6 on my top songs for 2008.
16. Fallen - Sarah McLachlan
Nice Alternative Rock ballad. Angelic melody.
15. Moses - Coldplay
This one is good. Seems now a days Coldplay is more interested in what Martians think about their songs.
14. Stupid - Sarah McLachlan
My least favorite of the three. Plus I didn't know Sarah here was AAA Hard-on material?
13. Leaving New York - REM
I swear I didn't know of these REM songs. Pretty nice uplifting chorus.
12. Big Sur - The Thrills
So this is the one you all get a 'woodie" for. Nice score. Easy first time listen for me as well. This was unique for me in a good way. The banjos plus the Brit Pop style. I was sold on the "hey Hey Were The Monkeys" line.
11. Mad World - Michael Andrews f/ Gary Jules
man barely scraping by here. At least I'm left with two top 10s. Love the Tears For Fears original. Curt sounds amazing, but who asked for this version? This cover here is so anti-me it's not even funny.
10. Take Your Mama - Scissor Sisters
Didn't recall this, but I dug it. Sounds like the song Maroon 5 wish they had written.
9. Worn Me Down - Rachael Yamagata
Forget this one was still here. Never heard it before. Loved the guitar melody. Sexy vocals too. Still wondering what song(s) I first heard it in. Almost like a faster "With Or Without You"
8. Maybe Tomorrow - Stereophonics
I do recall this one. Kinda worn off me now, but still pretty cool.
7. This Love - Maroon 5
Yeah I'm not gonna leave a good Maroon 5 song hanging in the wind. Also if "Harder To Breath " is surrounded by 90% unknown songs to me-it's soaring right up my list. why? because a good Maroon 5 song is hard to come by these days.
6. Another White Dash - Butterfly Boucher
Another awesome first time listen. So why this never cruised over to pop?
5. Float On - Modest Mouse
Love the band and I loved this song on first listen which was on one of those cruise over pop charts, but anyway it was either this one or Jet for my crown song so thank me later.
4. They - Jem
Didn't care too much for this or songs that sound like it.
3. Sunrise - Norah Jones
Cute and sweet came to mind.
2. Run - Snow Patrol
Didn't really know of this band that year, but I still dug the song just not as much as the ones I actually know.
1. Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand
This song begs the question especially in the make up of the first verse. Which came first? This or "Somebody Told Me" by The Killers? Anyway great winner. Always happy to have one of my top 10 crown songs take the actual crown.

Great RD as always. Glad I got to send in a list, but the real treat here was discovering the thrill of The Thrills. Gotta go listen to some of their albums, cuz I like what I hear.
