#1: The Killers finally make it in their 15th week in the top 50. I hate that it looks like I'm jumping on the "Killers 2005!" bandwagon (especially since I started the topic for "Somebody Told Me" in the Alternative forum way back in March), but it looks like this year could be big for the band.

#2-10: Pretty much status quo, save Eminem's 12-6* jump. I still think he could fall short of #1 though.

#11-20: Finger Eleven's jump (25-14*) isn't quite as huge as it appears to be, but it's still good. The Lostprophets appeared to be heading for a steep fall a couple of weeks ago, but have rebounded to set a new peak. Ryan Cabrera is probably peaking.

#21-30: Breaking Benjamin is doing quite nicely; likely a future top 10. "Passive" probably won't do the same, though. "Signs" is going to be unpredictable for me: it could either explode into the top 5 or hit a wall around #23 (a la "Goodies").

#31-50: Lots of things to talk about here. Chief among them: the 41-spot surge for the Arcade Fire, and the highest top 100 debut of the year by Mute Math. QOTSA are ramping up. The jumps by the other bulleted songs are deceptively small. (Just check out the 6-spot backward bullet from SOTY.) I'm starting to get back into the new TBS. Good Charlotte sneak into the top 50 in a competitive week.

#51-99: New Snow Patrol makes an entrance at #64. Jack Johnson could have his first top 50 hit since "Bubble Toes". Dogs Die In Hot Cars are showing some life, setting a new peak in week 14. Pillar, Chemical Brothers, and Interpol are among the other top 100 debuts. Howie Day (finally!) and Straylight Run re-enter.

#100: Simple Plan gets the honor this week. It's too bad an actually tolerable good song from these guys is probably going to waste.

Right now "Hysteria" has everything going for it; in addition to being a freaking awesome song, it's also got the prestige of myself realizing that every spin on the radio could be the one that puts it in the top 10 nationally, and the excitement that after 26 weeks on the radio chart, it's finally my turn to get to hear it all the time on the radio. #2 is Snoop by default, pretty much. The Used are red hot right now and I'll be picking up their album soon. Finger 11 and Slipknot are running out of gas. "Inertiatic ESP" wins the The Mars Volta sprint to the top 10.

I hate to hang Lostprophets out to dry with that #11 peak, but I haven't even heard it in over a month, and the sinking realization has set in that I probably never will get to hear it without my Start Something CD in the player. I'm also angered that "Club Foot" seems to be leveling out nationally, without ever receiving local support. Snow Patrol may still yet make the top 10, after seemingly being taken for dead.

The spots in 20-40 are wide open; not really too many songs scorching up the chart now (although making two charts in one hour didn't really help). I feel like I'm cheating a bit with Hot Hot Heat on January dated charts when I first heard it on February 7, but it won't matter much in the long run. Straylight Run gets a second life and I may have to play "pick my own singles" from their self-titled album. QOTSA and Jimmy off to slow starts, but they'll surely pick up with increased play.

Well, now I'm only one week behind...I'll allow a few days for things to settle a bit before I make the next one.
