If anyone else lives around Philly and listens to Q102, knows that Q102 veteran, Chio (pronounced Che-o), left the famous "Chio in the Morning" show in January, saying him and his family was moving to Washington or something. Chio had been on there for a REALLY long time, I remember him being on there in 2000-2001 when I first started listening to the station. Even though his morning co-hosts changed, he always remained. So, he leaves in January, right? Well, all last week, Wired 96.5 (Q102's rival) had been airing promos all, saying "Tune in Friday morning for the "Welcome Back *Beep* (they bleeped the name out) Party". I was thinking Rocko the Janitor (the one who "started" the station from the very beginning and got his morning show microphone "stolen" by the Wild Bunch last Sept), but I was listening this morning and the DJ announced CHIO from CHIO IN THE MORNING was the new person! I was in shock. At first, I thought "How could he do this, after being at Q102 for so many years?" But then, this afternoon, promos featuring him started and were saying that he was going to explain what happened with him and the "other station". He said "If you like drama, you're NOT gonna wanna miss this!" I'm SO tuning in on Monday. It's going to be so wired....I mean weird listening to him on the Wired airwaves. I'm so used to associating him with Q102. Guess they need to take the Chio in the Morning billboards down that are basically all over the place, lol.
Hopefully, someone else on the board knows what the hell I'm talking about, lol.

There's some speculation about what this means for Wired's music too. Will they go more mainstream to try and get Chio's fans from Q102? Will they add more older music?

I think they're joining Chio's show. They're definitely not getting fired.

Is this the guy was supposed to go to Z90 in San Diego? Yep. It'll be interesting to see how this situation shakes out. Wired definetely needs all the help they can get in their battle against Q102, their morning slot seems to be a revolving door as of late...

What's going to happen with Sam and Ryan in the morning? One of them stayed (can't remember which), and the other went back to Hawaii - it said he left a pregnant wife and family over there, so he just went back (both came from Hawaii, btw). Anyway, I hope they get a girl on the show, just to even things out. I wonder how the show will go down. Can't wait to hear!

LOL, when Chio was saying the # to call this morning, he said Q102's number, instead of Wired's and they all laughed. I knew something like that was going to happen.
Apparently, the reason why Chio left Q102 was because his manager was not treating him and his show nicely. He said that the manager wither didn't like him - didn't like the show. He wouldn't let the show be promoted on the air (and when he did, the promo had too be 7 seconds long, or else it wouldn't get aired). Chio pointed out that at one point, the whole cast of Chio in the Morning was going to move to Wired. Chio got sick of it, and got a job in San Diego. Moved there, when his wife called him up on the phone and told him she wanted a divource. He quit the job, pakced up, and drove back to Cherry Hill (where he lives). He's trying to be a better person.
God, I wish I had recorded this. It was pretty raw stuff. I think that's the story. So, say hello to Chio in the Morning on Wired 96.5!
