Hi y'all. My real job is in online marketing (primarily affiliate marketing) so I know AdSense up there is probably keeping this board going, so I'm totaly supporting it. ;) One thing though, the creepy sex offender ads over this past week, has been well....creepy. Anything you can do within AdSense to turn off that particular URL from showing in the ad displays? Thanks, George

I found it somewhat hilarious that one of the offenders resembled Abe Lincoln.

It uses some kind of keyword system, and there's no way we can alter the content of the ads ourselves. I'm not even sure if the Proboards authorities can without removing the system altogether. There is a way we could remove ads for just this board, but it would be very expensive considering the high amount of hits we get.

The "sex offender" ad might be a default to display if no Google AdWords are detected. That's the only way I could see us all getting it in so many topics.

Those using Symantec's Norton Internet Security software (and some other such programs) can block advertisements on most websites. The banner ads on Pulse (and other ProBoards forums) are blocked.
A good suggestion for those really disturbed by the ads is to get one of those free ad-blockers from Download.com.

Actually those hurt your system more than help them because they affect your HOSTS file, which you don't really want to do.

I am actually using Adwords Campaign Management for my advertising. I have a small business website. Digital marketing has helped me a lot in making new audience and keeping up a steady performance. I recently did a great Christmas campaign.
