Are 3 songs going recurrent? Because Maroon5 is #43 right now. (And Maroon5 should also be listed as a Top 50 debut.) Yes, 3 songs are going recurrent (Santana, Staind, and Matchbox Twenty). Maroon5 is, indeed, the fourth top 50 debut.

I'm glad to see Sheryl Crow get a nice boost into the top 20. The last update I saw had her at #23. She could get her biggest solo hit in a long time if she can keep it up for a couple more weeks.

I would have never expected Sheryl Crow to make Top 20. I guess this will be a surprise hit like "Picture" and "Landslide."
Another surprise hit is definitely "With You," and #1 does not seem very unlikely for this song. But it may have to battle it out with "My Immortal" and "Toxic" which are also great soings!

hmmm...anyone wanna take a guess at when MI will finally reach the top 10? I'm rooting for the end of next weekend or the beginning of Feb., but ya never know. My guess at it's peak: #7. It could have been #13 right now if it weren't for that s**tty Toxic song that got excessive amount of spins just because of the artist that's singing it. grrrr. plastic, bubblegum little... >:( (sorry, just don't like that Britney)

I think a huge surprise right now is Fuel jumping all the way to #18!!! Well you shouldn't be surprised. Everytime people in the Alternative Forum call a song a "(alternative-rock)-career-killing" single, you can expect it to go well into the Top 10 of the Pop chart.

I think the last time she was in the Top 10 by herself was in 1998, with My Favorite Mistake which peaked around #6 or #5. So it's been over 5 years, or half a decade.

I hope she will and it seems likely. But whoever comes out on top I bet it will be by five to ten spins. At 12:39, it seems unlikely. 12 12 CHRISTINA AGUILERA The Voice Within 4080 4376 -296 31.586 26 13 BRITNEY SPEARS Toxic 3979 2451 1528 34.999 Twista will tie Britney for the Highest Jumper within the Top 40.

Even Britney may have a little difficulty reaching the Top 10 next Sunday.

I'm glad "Toxic" is ahead of that boring piece of crap "My Immortal". That song is a definite downer, its no wonder something upbeat like "Toxic" is beating it.

It's nice to have a variety on the chart - fast moving songs AND slow moving songs. Not all people listen to the radio for a good beat - some actually like slow songs, you know. >:(

I personally don't like Britney or any of her songs,(and I sincerely hope she falls off the face of the planet, etc) but I respect anyone who does. In any case, I hope MI beats Toxic When it comes down to it, it's the longevity of the song at the top of the charts that determines its quality. And in that area, I firmly believe MI will win.

I mostly like fast songs...some slow songs are OK, but I'm rather energetic in life and prefer energetic music.
I really don't like "Toxic"..."Me Against The Music" was a lot better.

Just cause it's slow doesn't make it a piece of crap, dumbass. "My Immortal" far surpasses Toxic in lyrical quality, and pure beauty. Besides, it's not like it's slow the whole song, the band at the end is rather uplifting. God comments like these just show how dumb-minded and ADD pop listeners are these days.

Toxic is a good song, but its kinda ruined for me by Britney's embarassing lack of singing ability. On her first 2 albums her voice had an appealing childishness to it, but now? UGH... it's just beyond a joke. Paula Abdul was better...

Uh... Yoko Ono and Roseanne Barr are better. :o Don't get carried away. At least Britney doesn't TRY to sing something she can't. She just chants in the background, which suits here voice. That's why her songs suck though, where ARE the vocals?

Britney can sing decently. Sure she's no Whitney, but she's proven that she can sing when she performs her ballads live.

I think vocals are the main thing holding me back from Britney. I like Toxic now, but the vocals are so weak-you can tell just by listening to it. Same with Duff-she has good poppy music, but her voice is just unbearably weak.

But she can sing enough that people can bear it, it just may not be that great. They say "she can't sing" and then go off and listen John Mayer and it's not like he can sing any better. Voice isn't the only part of a song.

They say "she can't sing" and then go off and listen John Mayer and it's not like he can sing any better. Voice isn't the only part of a song. There's a difference though. John Mayer has some really deep lyrics-- where are Britney's? Nah, I'm not here to hate on Britney, "Toxic" is pretty decent; I wish she'd release "Everytime" or "Brave New Girl." Britney's voice isn't the greatest in the world, we know that; my only qualm with Britney's voice is that it isn't very distinguishable, she sounds a lot like Madonna-- thus, her voice is incredibly weak. Yeah she can carry a tune but that's about it. Some of her songs are still really good though. I'd give "Toxic" a solid C, but "Everytime" would get an A- from me. Britney can get by with less-than-stellar vocals, and thats ok so long as some of the other factors in her music balance it out. As for the mention of "My Immortal"-- this is the most beautiful song I have heard in a while; it's so poignant, so captivating... Amy Lee has a very good voice. A+ for "My Immortal"... as of now, I definitely think it is the frontrunner (by far) to win Record of the Year t the '05 Grammys... Great song!
