Here is Shakira's new single "Hips Don't Lie (feat. Wyclef Jean)". Radio Rip from KIIS FM, I like this song it sort of sounds like "La Tortura (Shaketon Remix)" . rapidshare.de/files/13259111/hdl.zip.htmlpassword: shakirarules

You guys think that this song could get heavy airplay on latin radio ? It has a lot of latin sounds but it is in english.... spanish artists complain that spanish music doesnt get played on mainstream radio but now we'll see if the spanish stations are open minded enough to play this track....

It'll be huge on Latin Urban. I think it'll chart on Tropical but not go too far. Will probably chart on Spanish Contemporary if "Drop It On Me" has charted. Spanish Contemp. has such an odd assortment of reporters.
How did "Oye Mi Canto" do on Latin formats? That might be a good clue.

I hope it bombs. I'm so over Shakira. She's a sell out. She should've released a new album instead of KILLING my SALSA ANTHEM and the love I had for her and both Oral Fixation albums

If I were Jerry Rivera probably I would be flattered that she used something that I made for a global project like this. I mean Shakira used those notes recognizing something good on them, probably it was an anthem for her as well when she was growing up. I see it as a homage to the song rather than just a rip off. And most people would agree that it sounds really good on this song... this is giving a chance to salsa to become more mainstream...

exactly.
anyway sell out? lol...she did a long time ago with Whenever wherever.....thats the past... difference between this song and La Tortura is?....wyclef?...jeez
I understand her...she made a good amazing quality album...didnt sell well, its like i make something but not many people appreciate it, so the idea of a commercial song to sell the album is a greaaaaaaaat idea, that way people will listen to it and hear Shakiras music.

I hope you're being sarcastic. I'm not. Like Purple Dreams said, you're being too hard on her. The girl in your sig/avatar re-defines what a sellout is and you still support her?

Didn't Wyclef do this song with Claudette Ortiz for the "Dirty Dancing Havana Nights" soundtrack? Lol.

exactly. anyway sell out? lol...she did a long time ago with Whenever wherever.....thats the past... difference between this song and La Tortura is?....wyclef?...jeez I don't call Shakira a sell out just because she made La Tortura Part II I call her a sell out cuz she's basically making the second part of La Tortura to make a hit when she could've moved on with her next album and make all the reggeaton songs she want. I think she killed and ruined Oral Fixation cuz this song doesn't fit the album at all. It's way too.... perhaps latino for Oral Fixation ??? I'm annoyed and I'm not buying it, I'm not supporting it I'm so over Shakira. Like Purple Dreams said, you're being too hard on her. The girl in your sig/avatar re-defines what a sellout is and you still support her? I'm being hard on her? How? I just don't like this song and she's a total sell out. Excuse you Jennifer Lopez has not one thing to do in this thread.

Well, how does La Tortura fit with the rest of Fijacion Oral 1 anyways... the albums were eclectic per se and if you ask me a song like this was exactly the missing link.

Um, no. La Tortura fits the album well. Fijacion Oral is, to me at least, a mix off latin styles.
La Tortura was fresh, new, a billion times better than any song combined.
Hips Don't Lie is a DESPERATE way to get a hit.

You said you not only don't like the new song but that it killed the love you had for her and for both FO and OF. That's why I said you were being too hard on her.
I think she's desperate for a hit but I don't think she's selling out because like others have said she's already made similar songs in the past.

Verstehen to tha R-o!: If you`re "so over" Shakira, then just stop listening to her, to her albums, and to this song. It`s as easy as that. If you "lost all your respect for her" and her albums, then ignore this song. I mean, I don`t know what to say. I think you are REALLY over-reacting like you usually do. This reminds me of your numerous posts saying: I lost all respect for daddy yankee, his song is a piece of shit, horrible mother fucking song, piece of crap, etc..... then a few posts later you were all like: I LOVE THIS SONGGGGGGG. Calm down already. Don`t like it, then don`t listen to it.

What the hell is wrong with you? Such a lamb.
It was different with Yankee. His songs doesn't sound alike and it bothered me that it sounded like another reggeaton crap cuz I know he can do much better songs than that, plus I SAW HIM PERFORM ROMPE LIVE which made a huge difference.
Over-reacting? Please, who's the one that go insane when someone say that Oral Fixation is a flop? Riiiiight.

Wow, nu Shakira jam! Didn't Wyclef do this song with Claudette Ortiz for the "Dirty Dancing Havana Nights" soundtrack? Lol. He did!!! Haha And as for people calling Shaki a sell-out, what exactly is a sell-out? Because the time to call her a sell out would have been with the first Nokia/Pepsi commercials she did way back when before her crossover...

That's great. This song should get airplay on both Spanish Tropical and Latin Urban like Ricky Martin's single.
